No, changing your BBs does not change the power of your gun. Read this and play with the calculator:
http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/articles/fps_limits/fps_calc.htm
An FPS limit of 350 is not "shitty", it's for your own safety. Generally, velocity limits like that are to ensure that nobody gets seriously injured in close quarters. The FPS of a gun is just the muzzle velocity, the BB slows down as it travels - most fields have a "minimum engagement distance" for certain weapons. If your opponent is below the minimum engagement distance, there are other ways of resolving who kills who.
No, the battery doesn't change the velocity of your gun either. A higher-voltage battery increases your rate of fire, and a battery with higher amperage will last longer.
Stores will tell you that a gun with higher FPS is automatically superior to one with lower FPS. It's a myth targeted at new players with money to throw around - don't be taken advantage of. Changing a gun's velocity takes only a few minutes and involves switching the spring with a stronger or weaker one. A stronger spring slightly increases the maximum range, and will break your gearbox more quickly from the mechanical stress.
A brand new Tokyo Marui AEG shooting at 280fps will always be more accurate than a brand new Jing Gong AEG shooting at 400fps. The important parts are the better-quality hop-up bucking and barrel.
Just get a generic, popular AEG and play with it until it breaks. Living in Britain, you're kind of fucked because AEGs will be overpriced and it's going to be inconvenient to find popular ones. Anything by Jing Gong is a good place to start.
Thanks for the awesome reply, man.
I've heard lots about FPS not being everything, and that's why I deem 420 fps unnecessary, I could possibly buy the JG G36C which must be around 300 fps, so it has a nice range, the accuracy was... Alright.
Apologies for assuming the FPS limit is shitty, if I'm honest that was just a sort of stab at these Airsoft statistics so it almost looks like I fit in. My bad. I'll have a look at the JG & Tokyo Marui products (I've heard many good things about TM)

I want to get a role as a support gunner eventually. Which weapon should I use? I'm leaning towards the MK43 right now.
foos has the RPK and from what I've heard it's pretty kickass.

Anyone able to help moi?
Question @ last page
I took apart my G&G MP5A4 with electric blowback, to clean it and to get familiar with it, and when I put it back, the "shell ejector" port doesn't slide very well, and often gets stuck. I can try to put it in so that there is more room for it to move, but then the stock will not fit on the bottom, because I shifted it to make room for the blowback. Any suggestions? If I leave it will it fuck my gun up? It's electric blowback, so it's not needed for it to work, however, I don't want some part connected to it in the gearbox to break. Help.
Hmm. If it's getting stuck, it sounds like it's misaligned and getting caught up on the receiver.

Are these real Wiley-X SG1s? I'm kinda suspicious of them being fakes because on Wiley X's website they're listed for $114. I don't want to buy some cheap imitation then get my eye shot out because the lens can't withstand the impact of a BB.

I don't know. It's worth asking.
Buy them and then shoot them with your gun.
Fucking Russian stuff got here today ohyeeees. Veschmeshok and PMG gasmask, although the gasmask didn't come with a bag, I can just shove it and the filter into the veschmeshok. Not like it's gunna hurt latex. The veschmeshok also doesn't have a back pocket or nametag space, it's just a bag with straps on it, but bleh.
I was thinking that before I make my support gunner loadout, I was going to get a CYMA CM028, a Chicom, a shemagh, and a rice hat. That way I could switch between terrorist and VC whenever I wanted to just by changing hats. Yes or no?
Do it. Versatile and simple.
Anyone know a good replica RDS that would look good on an MK5 for cheap?

Should I get some silicon oil in there? The thing I am most concerned about knowing is whether or not the gun should be used if it is not working. By the looks of it, it's independent from the gearbox, but I want to be sure.
I couldn't help but notice the people in this Sub-forum are miles better than the rest of FP. Everyone discusses instead of attempt to argue with eachother, and they're so helpful.
I love you gwuys :3

M4 is still shooting one BB. The only way I can get it to shoot one BB is to rewind the mag, then place it in, and it shoots once, and then I have to take the mag out, rewind it and do it again. This is not a mag problem as it happens with ALL 3 of my mags and it did this with two different hop up systems.
[editline]5th May 2011[/editline]
I've already unjammed anything that might be lodged in the barrel/gearbox.

Air nozzle/tappet plate issue, maybe?
[editline]5th May 2011[/editline]
The fact that you have to rewind the mags makes me think its the mags though.
Have you tried a non-hicap?

So what mags go with an Echo 1 RPK?

74 Mags.
My brother used his RPK (long) bakelite mags in my 74u at the last game. The mag was taller then the damn gun.
