You don't have as much leverage or control over a rifle when you hold it that far back, if you have a hold further onto the barrel you don't deviate as much when you change targets and ultimately just makes it a steadier platform.

I think I'm gonna get the P226 or P229 Though I wish I could find a P226 in black with the threaded barrel like the OD and Tan versions. I''m gonna get the OD version unless someone can find me the black one with threads.
