1000$? Must've got it a while ago, G&G MAX M14 are like 564.99$ brand new.
I'm selling my M14 but I'm in Canada so if your friend is willing to pay $750 for something he can get there for $400 then I'm down.
actually yeah, the M14 MAX's are relatively cheap

Yeah I did get it awhile ago. I also got a wood stock and scope for it which were relatively expensive as well.
Update on the MG36 situation.
Apparently they won't let me use it because having an easier-mobility LMG is unfair. What BS...while I will respect their judgment, I can think of hundreds of easy counters to their reasoning. Maybe we should forbid overly-strong players from using SAWs because they'll be able to handle them more efficiently and potentially move quicker with them than smaller, weaker players. Or maybe people with lighter commando-ish weapons should be forced to use 8.4v batteries to cut on their rate of fire vs. the speed of their loadouts, because they could cause too much damage if they had an 11.1v LiPo. Maybe we should just let only equally-skilled players be allowed to engage each other, because it might not be fair if a noob with a springer crosses paths with a more senior member.
Not everything in life is equal, nor should it be. War is not fair. Airsoft should be no different...if the odds are even, you're doing it wrong.
RPK.
Drum mag.
I really don't want one.
It would defeat the whole purpose of a "budget" platform ($135 MG36 + ~$50-60 drum as opposed to, say, the SRC RPK for $245 right off the bat). Now, don't get me wrong, I like RPKs, but it won't fill the role for what I need. And it's an AK variant, which means people here will hate me for using it.
ok shit so I upgraded my G&G SOC 16 with a 6.02 Guarder tightbore with a Prometheus bucking and SCS spacer
my shot placement is all over the fucking place, I can't even hit a 8½ in paper plate from roughly 50ft (last I checked my gun shoots 310 fps with .20s; I used .20 Javelin biodegradable bbs for the test)
any ideas?
[editline]10th February 2011[/editline]
I'm gonna clean the barrel and then try again since my gun jammed up a few times while firing
Can't you just reverse the upgrade until you find out what's wrong?
I'm sure Wolves will know, just wait till he comes on.
Can't you just reverse the upgrade until you find out what's wrong?
time consuming as fuck
$135 MG36 + ~$50-60 drum
Where are you finding a long G36 with a bipod for 135$?
Because strapping a Cmag to a G36C does not make an MG36.
ok, cleaned the barrel but nothing; it was completely clean
still can't hit the damn plate... I suspect it's the SCS
With the SCS spacers and Soft bucking, you really make sure that it's still lined up properly when installing it, seeing if a BB can get through with a little effort, usually, if it goes all over the place, it's due to a misplacement either of the sleeve, or the nub.
If it's shooting badly, you'll have to try again at installing it, barrels and hop up upgrades are 15 mins at max.
If it's the first time you do it, double checking is alway the key.
But yeah, from what you say, all I have to say is to check again, re-align the sleeve and the nub in the unit, make sure you give a bit of 100% silicone oil to the sleeve, and a bit in the barrel, at first, it's going to shoot a bit out of the line, but you have to make sure that the oil is well. You do so by shooting BB's.
When I first began I had the same issue as you, but yeah, double checking was the key. (That was nearly 3 years ago)

:buddy:
Oh and also, SCS nub + SOFT and 6.02 is quite capricious, so you'd rather want the best quality BB's, and you'll need to CHECK your hop up adjustment so the hop up isn't too tight.

best quality?
I thought javelins had a pretty good reputation
also read this on the SCS website:
IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ!!!
The SCS makes your hop-up very sensitive and it must be aligned/centered properly to get its maximum effect.
The SCS is not a "plug and play" hop-up upgrade and you must eliminate all the hop-up problems (wobbles, misalignments, hop-up defects such as plastic/metal "flash" that came from the factory molds, barrel window must be at least 4.10mm wide and the edges should not be sharp).
I can guarantee that the SCS will improve bb groupings and range PROVIDED that it is installed properly. If you install it hastily without troubleshooting and fixing your hop-up and barrel problems prior to the SCS installation, you will certainly get bad results.
gues you're right; ima keep adjusting it and shit
Speaking of SCS, I'm at job right now, and saw that we still had 9 in stock, guess I'll grab two, had my paycheck too, 391 dosh.(Quite don't like having a dosh amount of 470 in my wallet, it's uncomfortable to sit on that)
Anyway, as said, SCS are a bitch to adjust, but when you get it right, say hello to awesome range.

While to the perspective of a player, they may seem like dicks in reality they do make a point. I wouldn't want to be running games where everyone is using 2000 round drum mags, it ruins the immersion. LMG's need to be limited in games (preferably to 1 per squad).
i need help finding a nice 1990ish ALICE chest rig/vest that the soldiers from Black Hawk Down used in the battle of mogadishu.. im gonna make a Black Hawk Down loadout

Why does it seem like I'm the only one who would be happy to just have Flora, a helmet and a 6Sh112 for a Russian loadout? It seems like everyone else wants Gorkas and all that other non issue shit.
because they want to be a

I'm the same. Gorkas are issue too, Spets use them.

Moving along now...
Also, Jenkem, the people you play with sound like HUEG assholes. Like seriously. I'd find another field.
There's a grand total of seven major fields to my recollection. Four are run by the same people. Most local players frequent all of these, so there's no escaping these guys. Even with the unofficial fields, you're more than likely going to face the same type of rules.
I'm not driving an hour and a half every weekend up to Fairfield just to play with different people. It's not feasible.

Everyone could buy a LMG and take it out there on the 19th (next big game) and the only reason they'd say no is because of how ridiculous it would be. While they have a bit of a point (if only a rickety one), and I do agree with you somewhat as well, they really just don't seem to want anyone to "rock the boat" by being different or thinking up something they didn't already. Half of you would be laughed out of the field for having dedicated loadouts that aren't typical American or PMC stuff. I mean, one of the locals had to ask for approval before he could even use an RPK in a support role.
I'm trying really hard to respect their judgment, but the more I think it over, the more stupid it sounds. Nobody will listen to me, though, being the newer guy who hasn't been playing since AEGs were the new and interesting rage.
As a side note, I hope none of them see my posts here. You can't really confront any of them about it and expect to get anywhere but banned from the forums, though, and God help me if they find out I'm talking about them somewhere else to unrelated people with a less-biased view.
They mean well, I'm sure. The guy who runs all of those fields is awesome. But it strikes me that the longer-standing people have largely grown arrogant, jaded, and unable to hear those who haven't racked up a decent reputation, exist within their own sphere of influence, or, at the least, have been around for a long, long time. The same problem exists with politicians, some religious teachers, and just about anyone who has authority on a subject and has been involved with it for an extended period.
