Ok so basiclly I an ics m4 that has a split gearbox, I opened it up earlier today since i though something got stuck. Nothing did, but now when I try to close it, put the upper reciver with the lower one theres about a 1 cm opening but it wouldn't close all the way. I'm clueless on what to do and dont want to risk anything.

Maybe the gears arent in the correct position?
Im sure there are videos on youtube that would explain it better than text.
ok, I think i got it back together.
Am I the only one here who thinks the AMD-65 is ugly as sin?

Ill bet you think the Masada looks cool too
I don't.
I REALLY want an AS VAL or VSS
I want a fuckin' wood furniture AKS-74 from fuckin' KWA.
So.
I have this:

I want it to look a little bit like this:

Or this:

After removing all susceptible plastic parts, gutting the internals, ect., would dumping the upper (or lower) in acetone be sufficient to get a silver slide/lower? I'm also planning to possibly paint the opposite parts black (not gray like the finish is already) to further the resemblance. If that wasn't enough, I'm considering possibly working on putting some real grips on this thing, or at least painting the stock ones brown to kind of fake the look.
Is this a good idea? I want to have one freaking epic pistol. To my knowledge, not a single person around here has anything like a Kimber that isn't a Desert Warrior.
Eww, 3 colours on a single pistol.

That is a beautiful handgun.
Kindly show yourself to the door, infidel. I have no use for your pagan commentary.
Scar and Masada are the only armalite-ish guns I plan on getting. Good idea?

Unfortunately, it's going to be a bit trickier and you have to put in manual work. Most of the process involves rubbing sandpaper against the paint until it comes off, then polishing. There's no way to reverse it if you go too far, so you'll need to trust yourself a lot.

This might work. Pachmayr grips fit fine on my WE 1911 single-stack - I wouldn't expect wraparound grips to fit nicely on the P14, as it has a thicker frame. But standard two-piece grips will probably fit on without modification.

Hm, I'm not sure I follow. What I was getting at was stripping all the paint off the frame - what concern do I have if I go "too far"? It's just metal at the bottom of it, so it shouldn't hurt if I blow off the paint layered on top of it, right?

The odd thing is that it doesn't seem like the profile is any wider than a regular 1911. They say it is, but it looks the same to me even with a relatively close up comparison (I've examined others' 1911s and they look just as wide, sadly don't have another one on a milspec schematic to compare it to).

Well, you can polish it until it's silver and if you keep sanding it'll eventually have a mirror appearance, which might not be what you're going for. Sanding is just slowly scraping off layers. You can always re-paint it later, but it probably won't look as good as the original factory finish.

Hm..really? Would you mind measuring the width of the magwell?

But the thing is, it would look so much better if you went with just 2 colours (or wood).
[sp]inb4 hurr wood slide[/sp]

The mag and trigger make me go flaccid.
I replaced the mag with a 4.3 mag since it looks less retarded
Kept the trigger though since I have no fucking clue on how to swap one
The mag and trigger make me go flaccid.
And the massive rear sight. I just generally hate hicapas, race guns, fancy 1911s, etc anyway.

and rail that doesn't go to the end of the frame.

Hm. May have to do this now because of some recent developments.
It doesn't have to be a nice shiny see-it-glint-in-the-sun-so-you-can-find-and-kill-me-more-easily finish. Frankly, I think my pistol's finish isn't so nice anyway. It's almost parkerized, yet slightly blued, and it looks neither as good as my real Star 1911 (which is very blue steel) nor as good as a parkerized Colt 1911. So it's kind of mediocre.
Hm..really? Would you mind measuring the width of the magwell?
I'll have to get back to you on that. Not sure how anyone could even use a pistol with a grip thinner than this one, and my hands aren't that big either.
Does anyone have a good airsoft retailer from the UK?
Try firesupport.co.uk.
Did you just pick some random website? They don't even sell anything.
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
I think you mean fire-support.co.uk. They DO sell weapons.
[editline]23rd February 2011[/editline]
Never mind about UK airsoft retailers. They all seem to require VCRA membership.
Does anyone have experience with AirsoftExtreme.com? Their website looks a little dodgy, but they ship internationally.
