They're good. They have kind of a small selection though.
Does anyone have experience with AirsoftExtreme.com? Their website looks a little dodgy, but they ship internationally.
I always thought they look dodgy but they're a decent retailer apparently. Not on par with GI or anything but they'll get you what you bought. I'd call to make sure it's in stock before you place an order first. Their walk in store is infinitely better.
When airsoft gets the new laws to go from 'legal' to legal in The Netherlands, what kind of airsoft device do you people reccomend?
You'll have to be more specific. There are Airsoft replicas for nearly every other gun in existence.
But the G&G Combat Machine is a cheap and excellent choice for a beginner gun. Even I use one.

As Codemonkey said, G&Gs combat machines are a solid first investment, though they have fairly basic externals.
Dboys/CYMA is another decent choice if you are more into AKs since they have good quality externals, though the internals are slightly less sturdy than the G&G.

This. G&G can get a little pricy if you're on a low budget, but I got my brother a CYMA AK for christmas and got myself a DBoys Mk16 not too long ago and we're pretty(extremely) rough with them, been playing nothing but night and snow games while tossing them on the ground to switch to sidearms, ect. Don't have anything bad to report, and both guns are mostly metal (body included), only thing I have to say is that the tip of my brother's AK is chipped off and the iron sights on my Mk16 aren't my favorite.
Also, another thing to think about when buying a gun, or at least your first one, is this: You're either going to buy a really nice car and let it sit in your driveway, or you're going to buy a moderatly priced car and get gas and insurence, ect. and actually be able to drive it. :iiaca:
Hmm, that :iiaca: helped me. :v: Thanks!
You're welcome! My dad pulled that out when I was trying to decide between my DBoys and the TM P90.
I've never fired an Airsoft weapon in my life. This isn't helped by the fact that I live in Holland. Luckily, legalization of the sport is being pulled through, and laws for it are being set up.
Anyway, I've been checking out a lot of videos of the sport, and weapons, terms and whatnot, to familiarize myself a little. My question, is about the velocities of the BBs. How fast, is like, 300 feet per second. It's hard for me to imagine as is the distance traveled by the BBs. I mean, I've seen Airsoft snipers around a lot, but is there any use to such a scope, if you can only hit targets a yard or so away?
Just trying to gage the realistic combat experience of the sport.
The average airsoft gun will usually be 350-400 FPS for outdoor games and 300-350 FPS for CQB. Sniping is pretty much useless unless you completely upgrade everything in your gun.
I'm probably the wrong person to ask when it comes to the science of it.
You can consider that the cheapo clear spring pistols they sell at Sporting Goods stores for $30 are about 100-150FPS~
You can shoot yourself point blank in the arm and it'd sting but the most you'd get is a little welt. These are toys.
Next level is 200-300FPS which is the standard for Japanese Airsoft guns, which will get you a relatively good range (although FPS doesn't really account for everything when shooting distance) and it'll leave some nasty welts, puncture skin and make you bleed (We're not talking point blank anymore)
300-350FPS is the usual limit at American fields for AEG's and at this point irresponsible use of airsoft guns can result in serious injury. Taking out eyes, cutting through lips, breaking and chipping teeth. It'll definitely puncture exposed skin, leave nasty bleeding welts and generally it's not very pleasant which is why the proper protection is required (Basically clothes, goggles and usually a facemask)
Anything higher than that is a Sniper Rifle basically and they've got quiet a reach a lot of power. There are engagement restrictions so people with 400+ rifles cannot engage targets too close.
What do you guys think of this leadout from Weapon Blender? I'm a fan of Ghost, and this looks awesome.
The effective range of an airsoft rifle is usually 120 or so feet. A sniper rifle will usually be reaching out around 200. Of course, you can still hit things past that, but it is a bit more difficult. 300 FPS (feet per second) is a bit low for most field play. That is better suited to CQB (indoors) battles. A good field gun should shoot 350 - 370 fps. At most fields, once it hits 400 and over, it must be semi auto or bolt action only. Hope that helped.
FPS doesnt have much to do with the range, either. Just how fast the BB travels.
They got the jacket wrong. Aside from that they don't give you half the shit in that picture. (Why do they give you a thigh rig but nothing to put on it)

Do they give you all the basics is what I'm asking. I wanna get the pouches myself.

The basics, as in pants, jacket, vest, four mag pouches, kneepads and some patches. Yes.

I'd buy that if it wasn't Multicam so I could make a PMC loadout.
It's overpriced if you ask me.
That website is amazing.
Say what you will about Modern Gayfuckstupid, Ghost looks fucking boss.
I would choose this over this anytime. Not just because it's Modern Gayfuckstupid. And it's the same price.
Agreed, that DEA loadout looks sick nasty.
modernwarfare was okay until the fanboys kept thinking it was "realstic" that when it turn to shit.
hell it was fun until the fanboys and uninformative faggots used it as their goddamn history book.
no foreign loadouts from the looks of it (besides the shitty Chechen rebel one)
i am dissapoint
[editline]25th February 2011[/editline]
modern warfare has never and will never be fun ok
your opinion is WRONG
I'd get the USMC loadout if it was in woodland MARPAT instead of desert.

The only thing is they don't give you the helmet but they'll give you the helmet rails, hence they're trying to force you into buying the helmet yourself.
But aside from that the DEA loadout is a much better system for the same price.

I see no reason to carry something so extremely heavy around.
Thanks guys.
I hope I'm not asking too many questions. If I am, I'll do my querying elsewhere. What's up wit gearboxes? Every commercial for a gun goes like: "It has a style <integer number> gearbox, making it easy for <replacement/upgrading/downloading porn>."
What do they mean with a gearbox, exactly? I could Google, but I fear that information found could be biased towards a certain gearbox type, due to information found on seller's websites.
Thanks guys.

The gear box is the internals. There's like, 30 different kinds but there are 14(?) common types.

You can't ask too many questions in a thread made for asking questions. Unless you repeat the question.
