full metal airsoft gun? who needs that when you have full wood?
I would actually.... invest in a full wood AR15 AEG... if they made one
I am eventually going to get an AR.

Now that I have your attention, I have a question.
Is it possible to get a (preferably full metal) mid-range assault rifle for at most $160 USD? I'll be using 0.25g bb's, so around 400fps should suffice.
I've been looking fucking everywhere for something like this, but I know very little about the market and what to expect in a skirmish. Neither the make nor style matter, just looking for a good starter weapon. Also, some pointers on upgrading it would be good. I don't want to be that dumbass that has no idea how his gun works.
Thanks for using the question thread. Alot of people don't do that much.
Definitely can get you in the ballpark. FPS isn't everything and asking for a 400FPS gun on that budget isn't ever going to be a reality unless you grab a sniper in which case we need to talk a whole different set of rules. The range of what I have in mind definitely fits into 'Mid-Range' to 'CQB' but if you feel like bumping it up down the road a new barrel and some minor tweaks will be all it takes to get some extra reach.
The standard answer in this day and age, no matter where you go will basically be the G&G Combat Machine. They're reliable, tough and quality guns especially for the price.
They have different variants, AK, M4's so you can pick and choose but they vary in price from anywhere to $10-$50
Here is the standard though:
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=4726
Unfortunately the Combat-Machines are not all metal but they're made of a really tough polymer and I personally prefer them over metal because they're lighter and don't wear out as quickly.
Shipping is free. You need to grab a battery and a charger though. I recommend an Intellect Nunchuck and a Smart-Charger. Nothing fancy but you're liable to burn your battery out and burn cash with a trickle charger and I don't trust anyone with them.
Use the 'tim' coupon during check out and you'll get 10% off the order.
If having a full metal gun is that important to you I'll have to direct you else where. In the price range you can squeeze in with a Dboys AK (Real Wood/Metal) or a JG (They sell full metal near that price range but I can't direct you to just -one- because there are a ton.) for clarification though. Echo 1 and JG are the same, the former rebrands the latter so whichever you can get a better price on and enjoy as a personal preference is the way to go.
Edit:
I retract my previous gratitude for using the question thread. Thanks for clogging our forum with yet another useless thread.
How about this? http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=139_24_166&products_id=2954
What are the differences between a E90 and a P90?
Another question, where could I buy a GBB, full metal P90/E90, whatever the difference is.
They're the same gun I think. E90 is just what Echo 1 calls their rebrand of (Insert company here)'s P90.
GBB P90? I haven't seen one, doesn't mean they don't exist but I doubt they're cheap or easy to get a hold of at that rate.
Also there is no such thing as a full metal P90. The real steel FN P90 is made of polymer with a handful of metal parts.
Thanks for answering my question so fast, very helpful.
Now, I want my P90 to eventually look like this.

Looking at this website, it has a list of all the mods, jumping up to a price of 1,888 USD, and I'd think about 400$ of that comes from labor or something else. I want to build this all on my own without some company building it for me, buying each part from well known and reputable sources rather than one where they might get stock parts from companies that have a history of spotty parts.
But where it says on the list, Tokyo Marui P90 as it's basis, will my best bet to make this gun come from buying it from Tokyo Marui? Or would it also work from some other company that would sell it for even cheaper, but the same amount or even more quality but still keeps the ability to mod it out to hell as I'm planning.
What parts do you suggest to get a hold of first, before anything else. Most expensive? The cheapest? The largest? The smallest? etc.
Any and all help is appreciated
Oh, geez. This may take awhile so bare with me.
TM P90's are excellent. I used to own one. But Echo 1, G&G (Soon), JG, CA etc. all make their own so you'll have to shop around and decide which you like and want to spend money on. You want the version with the built in red-dot to look exactly like the base model.
You'll need a STANAG Box mag conversion which are like $120-150?~ I think. You'll need a front extension/rail system which I don't even have the faintest idea on how much they're but probably not cheap. Can't tell you the exact suppressor on it but any will do. Any old flashlight, any old red-dot. P90 Sling and sling mounts. Folding vertical foregrip.
I suggest you don't get that dumb grenade launcher but that's your choice.
Assuming the base gun is let's say $300. Plus let's say $250 for the rail and box mag. Another $150~ for the other shit.
The very loose appraisal I have for that set up is like $700 and that's just guesstimating.
The only build in red-dot TM P90 I could find was this one, and it doesn't have the exact rail which the mod has, the Nitro Vo. P90 Tactical RIS Rail Module. Would it make it easier to get the basic TM P90 and then get the rail module?
http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?products_id=1899
This one has the built in red dot, but is out of stock, yet also one of the cheapest ones I could find.
I think I'll get the box mag and rail mod first off, before anything else.
Don't count on ASGI getting any Tokyo Marui guns back in stock. There's no huge market for them in the US. That aside, everything except the gun for that mod is stand alone.
And I think there is something more to this E90/P90 thing but I don't know, looks like I was wrong.
Alright, do you know of any stores that have it in stock for around the same price? Red-dot or none.
What's more to it, seemed like it was what you said
Evike, AirsoftGI are the biggest retailers around. AEX but shopping online with them is balls difficult. Shop around, I don't know off the top of my head. Airsoft Atlanta maybe. Maybe WeaponBlender.
You could also wait for the G&G P90 to come out. It looks nice so far.
Weapon blender is actually in my town, might hit them up today
They only have P90's from Kart, and I asked earlier in this thread and they said that Kart is pretty iffy.
They also have the rail mount for only 40$, down from 150$ from other retailers
Do you know of the release date for the G&G P90?
What would I need to mount a scope on an AK-74? (Folding or shortened).
p90 with a stanag mag?
get the hell out of here
Why in the world would you want a P90 to look like THAT?

The P90 wasn't designed to carry all that shit on it, an AR has more room and is thus easier to use.
Imagine how would you even work your way around it. The stanag converter makes it pretty much a right handed weapon, which removes it's ambidextrous advantage. It also means that you would reload your mag with your left hand, but your grenade launcher with your right. The addition of a rail attatched fore grip is also questionable, since the P90 already has one. Not only that, but if you removed the foregrip you could probably mount the launcher on the bottom which would fix the earlier issue. The laser I can't really comment on, since it looks like it has a wire leading somewhere so that it would be easier to turn on, but I can't see where the wire goes. The entire thing is just a nightmare, too many attachments with very little thought put into anything but the selling price.

also it looks like a space ship

You could just buy TM's P90 tri rail and put on a holographic sight, a laser on one side and a grenade launcher on the other (It's a bit silly, but the idea itself is just fun) and you'd have a way more practical setup.
or buy a tri rail and put launchers on all three
triple dildo gun

This.
[editline]25th March 2011[/editline]
And yes I know the pulse rifle is a Thompson conversion.
I had already stated I'm going to buy the parts as I go along, if I don't see a point in certain parts I won't go on with one. Regarding reloading the mag with your left and the grenade with your right, the grenade launcher can be placed on the left. From what I see the fore grip can also be used as a bi pod. I also said I'm going to be buying the parts separately from different sources in order to keep the price relatively low.

Right, as I said, the Pulse rifle is a fake gun, and even though its BASED on a real gun, manages to not look retarded.
The P90-spaceship-thing you just posted is just a P90 covered in useless rails and loaded with useless accessories.
