i don't get how people assume john is dead for good hasn't he died twice now +1 in an alternate timeline
Twice not including this current update? I remember the alternate timeline death and the god-tier death, but I don't think he died any other time.
no i meant including this time
So you're more saying that it gets a little irritating when all that anyone is discussing is "omg what's gonna happen next", and when people start picking it apart and nagging it for some tropes it may follow.
Yes. And as I said on the very beginning, very terms like "Plot armor", "Comedy relief" and such are used when talking about what should happen and is happening. Analyzing the story from writers point of view is another thing which can be interesting and useful, but it's not something I would want to discuss while the story is still unfolding.
Now that I fully understand what you said I can agree with you.
I don't entirely agree with that Predicting what's about to happen next and giving rationales for that is sort of all we can do after the first few pages regarding even a particularly heavy update Plus some of the fun for me is having an idea of what's about to happen and then being surprised when something completely unexpected happens
I worded myself poorly. Certainly wouldn't happen if I was omniscient charming man. [editline]2nd April 2011[/editline] with cueball for head
i don't get how people assume john is dead for good hasn't he died twice now +1 in an alternate timeline
Being impaled through the chest so close to so many vital organs and collapsing on the ground is a typical way to depict death, but given the circumstances involving this death he's not gone for good, because being struck down before doing anything isn't heroic, and he wasn't corrupted so it couldn't be just. So he's likely dead now and will auto-resurrect sometime soon, likely after interaction with the trolls in a dream bubble. His clothes also showed no sign of damage or blood stains, like when he first rose up after already being impaled once by Jack Noir.
omniscient charming pedophile

There's a fuckton of foreshadowing in Homestuck which even urges you to do that. What irks me is when people distance themselves away from the actual story and characters and talk about what should happen from the point of view you assume when analyzing an author for literacy paper or something.

omniscient charming suicidal pedophile with a cueball for a head
What if it's another John? An ectobiology clone? Alternative timeline? Weird time shit? "he is there in the future in the story so he didn't die" is just lame. It doesn't really manipulate with any hint or trend. There are much more charming arguments to be made, yet this one is often the most used one. It's saying something can't happen to "he/she/it" because "this/that" has to happen first. I don't know, it just feels really unsatisfying to me.
Unless I understand it wrong, doesn't the trollian thing only follow a single timeline anyway?
Unless I understand it wrong, doesn't the trollian thing only follow a single timeline anyway?
Trollian can only view alpha timelines, so Dave's appeared rather jagged and jumps around, with him having a new timeline every time he time travels back. If a doomed offshoot clone returns to the alpha their timeline is also visible on Trollian's viewport, so yeah.

We need a Bec Noir kill counter.
We need a Bec Noir kill counter.
I'm fairly sure it'd be in the hundreds, if not thousands.
Yo, I know this has been asked like 900 times over by now, but has the most recent flash been ripped yet?
I'm fairly sure it'd be in the hundreds, if not thousands.
Keep in mind he initiated the Reckoning, so billions is closer to the value
Holy shit, john got stabbed
I've been wondering, what was the origin universe like? Y'know, the one responsible for creating Sburb.
A race of technologically advanced chinchillas
Keep in mind he initiated the Reckoning, so billions is closer to the value
But he's not the only one to have destroyed Earth, Jack just contributed. Unlike Sgrub, Sburb was widely distributed and played by millions of people all over the world, each with their own sessions and their own Reckonings. The only ones we know to have succeeded in entering and get this far are the kids, and their session provided the largest meteorite that Becquerel destroyed and the resulting blast ravaged Earth's surface. Even if the other players never entered, the sessions would proceed normally and Derse would triumph over Prospit, initiating their Reckonings and further destroying Earth. So it's really inconceivable to know exactly how many lives died at Jack's hands because we don't know the population of Prospit, the number of soldiers in the Armies of Light and Darkness, the populations of the trolls' Prospit and Derse and their planets, the number of lives lost to the Green Tragedy after Jack triumphed over Bro and Davesprite, and how many people were killed by the meteorites called from the kids' Reckoning. But billions is a good generalization for the casualities of the rampage he's gone on so far.
Holy shit, john got stabbed
Dangerous Neighborhood this.
Only saw the update now. Damn that music had me so fucking pumped for a badass strife sequence. Then John got shanked. Also did Rose blow up the fucking battlefield? (okay maybe thats a bit of an overreaction)

So the sessions at least need to be somewhat successful to provide meteors or even exist.
