You probably need to have lots of similarly coloured sections or a huge GIF in general. PNGs are larger than GIFs because PNG is (usually) a 32-bit format whereas GIF is an 8-bit (indexed colour) one.
I tried using both programs, and they just make it into a png picture with a white background. any reasons behind this?

More model progress! Finally made it so there are no polygons perpendicular to other polygons! I removed those god-awful gaps too. Now all I have to do is test the model itself ingame then get to proper texturing.

Every time I try to make a apng out of a gif made from GIMP, one program just makes a png of the first frame with a white background, and the other makes a file that cannot be opened. Any reason behind this?
