I hope this gets implemented in GMod somehow. I just want to propkill somebody with a fridge using my own hands, that's my dream.
This would be awesome for a survival horror type game. One hand is a flashlight, the other hand is a weapon of some sort. Just exploring a dark environment with that would be scary as hell.
Imagine this combined with Leap Motion *.*
Every day is a sad day when my Oculus Rift shipment is still on "Processing"...
When I saw him picking up the chair, I could only think of a wrestling game wherein you could do that Chair Smash technique in a super-real fashion.

It would be more real than actual wrestling :v:
The individuality of the hands made me think of dual-wielding swords or something like that. Sure, realistic Punch-Out without any bullshit comes to mind too, but man, the potential. :v:
I would prefer seeing one of these with a Novint Falcon
im feeling like if you really want to have realistic arm models, the hydra should come with extra sensors that maybe go on the elbows to show where the elbow is in relation to the hand.
I NEED this for flight sims like DCS and my airliners in FSX so bad. Being able to see a huge amount, have actual depth perception, and move my vision around the cockpit would be;
1. Freaking awesome
2. Really immersive
3. Really useful

Steel Battalion without the Kinect.

kinda would like some gloves instead of holding a controller that would mimic hand positions.
sports game utilizing hydra and oculus when
I really think that the best application of the rift is gonna be adventure games. Think of like, a game akin to Myst using it.
Anything in a cockpit is going to be surreal, like flight games.
So, since Portal already has hydra integration, and TF2 has gotten oculus support, Portal needs to get it so you can really do some crazy shit on there.
Already got a Hydra on the VR sale, now I'm just waiting for my Oculus to ship. Can't wait.
Oh man first person fist fighting games would be so fucking cool
Sword fighting too
This needs a boxing game or some shit
Imagine playing racing game with steering wheel, pedals and Oculus. Mind blowing experience.
This is the coolest thing I have ever seen
Just bought a razer hydra because of this

Me too! :D
This is pretty cool, but if I tried to throw a ball or something I'd probably instinctively let go of the controller.
DIY Wristbands.
Imagine this with the novint falcon instead and it's texture feedback.

Using hydra for positional headtracking
Combining all that VR tech into a 1:1 real world course to digital map. VR laser tag.
