Why should i bother if they're going to ignore whatever the fuck i say anyway. Second time this week i'd have to deal with this shit. Im done playing nice. You dont want to look at the links i give you? You dont deserve me explaining it to you like a toddler.
You've taken it too far mate
There are like 3 of you quoting and replying to him at the same time. You do realize that?
Irrelevant.
TheJoey literally quoted him and snipped his post and used it to go on a tangent not really related to what he was even initially talking about.
Irrelevant.
You literally came at him with videos he probably wasn't even interested in watching. Again because those had nothing to do with what his initial point was
Not my problem. I gave an explanation earlier as to what the deal was with this "supposed conspiracy" he was going on about, which he chose to ignore, even after i posted it a second time. Guess you ignored it too. Twice.
I've been reading this thread for a long time and I'm pretty sure his first two posts follow the same theme.
Irrelevant.
All he wanted to do was express how confusing the dismissal of people who like the movie was. It's not that hard You guys need to stop finding people to argue with.
Yeah and if he gave a damn about what we had to say he'd understand, but he didnt, not hard to understand.
Like at the bolded. All he was saying was people who made reviews liking the movie can't just be dismissed so easily. What were your videos going to do? Say that these people are obviously paid issues.
I linked the videos so he'd have a better understanding of the situation, he chose to ignore it. It helped go over that part. He ignored it. His problem.
You are moving goal posts and getting mad at him for not following it. Just relax, I'm not even going to assume you're mad because I'm genuinely not trying to egg you on.
I've moved nothing. He ignores what i give him, then its his fault he cant come up with a good response to what we were telling him. [editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
Then why are you here or even arguing for your sake? Your cause is doomed according to you!
Because part of me still wants to try and reason with people.
You've taken it too far mate
Howso.
91+ new posts, came here to expect an early shitstorm. The shitstorm was not the one I was expecting. No matter, posting this.
I dont see why i should even have to but if it'll make them happy, fuck it, dont have anything better to do right now. [editline]11th July 2016[/editline] I mean two of those videos pretty much go over the topic in full. They're titled " Ghostbusters: The REAL Reasons for the Backlash and Controversy" and "Ghostbusters: Sony Hits Back at Fan Backlash" So a specific timestamp might be hard.
Both of those videos were made well before the reviews started coming out. There's some evidence of the reviews being fudged earlier in the topic but it's not conclusive and I don't think there's any evidence of such in those videos since they're all from July 8 at the latest. So far people have claimed stuff like Sony taking down negative reviews but I've yet to see any proof of that either. Like I want to believe that the movie does in fact suck and Sony is paying off reviewers / censoring negative reviews but for me, I just haven't seen enough evidence to be convinced.
Both of those videos were made well before the reviews started coming out. I linked those so he could be more informed on the topic and come up with a better more concise argument besides "but what if its not."
Bustin makes us all feel good
What he said.
And I never said they were taking down reviews. I linked those so he could be more informed on the topic and come up with a better more concise argument besides "but what if its not."
Your argument was basically that the positive reception for the movies is invalid (if I understand correctly). The fact that the production of the movie was an absolute shitshow (which I'm well aware of) doesn't prove that. The wording of the positive reviews and the fact that many of the positive reviewers showed that they had an agenda before the movie released is evidence, and because of that I do somewhat believe that the positive reception among reviewers is disingenuous.
Your argument was basically that the positive reception for the movies is invalid (if I understand correctly).
Not exactly, but whatever, lets just go with that i guess. I was thinking more they were boosted because of the previously invested political beliefs they put into the film but alright.
YThe fact that the production of the movie was an absolute shitshow doesn't prove that.
Fair enough.
Sorry I don't understand?
he assumed you were sarcastic because you were saying stupid shit while agreeing with him [editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
Your argument was basically that the positive reception for the movies is invalid (if I understand correctly).
No that's the strawman Mooth made after people didn't agree with him calling everyone who believes the bad reviews delusional
Reread my previous post, carefully this time, instead of making your mind up when you hear the"internet people being called bad names and it might not be necessarily true!" part. [editline]11th July 2016[/editline] Funny, you know, that the "Top Critics" section shows that the movie is divisive among what appears to be actual professional or respected critics. Mostly. Buzzfeed is there. Somehow.

Perhaps they're afraid to contradict their own previous statements because they preemptively decided that every single detractor of the film was a misogynist? The fact that the reviews allowed up before the embargo is lifted only manage to hit 70+% is pretty telling of how bad its probably going to get ripped apart when it actually does release.
I posted these to note the disparity between the overall critical reception and the top critics section (which, unless im mistaken because Rotten Tomatoes is really weird, is relegated to mostly professioanl critics) and a possible explanation for why that might be the case. The videos going over the controversy, actually seeing those articles when they were happening, and this
[t]http://i.imgur.com/RQu6Tiz.jpg[/t]
were influencing that. I also tried to be realistic with the scenario:
You say conspiracy like everyone got huddled around a massive oval table in some board room on the 30th floor of a New York skyscraper, with only a single lamp illuminating the room in such a way that nobodies faces could be seen. The fact of the matter is, Sony took advantage of a recent trend in people trying to appear progressive and trendy by attacking those who would dare criticize or call out women in entertainment media for anything with labels for their Ghostbusters reboot. A reboot produced by a near certifiably bat shit crazy lady named Amy Pascal (who at one point seriously legitimately considered an Aunt May spy thriller for an Amazing Spider-Man tie-in), directed by a man-child name Paul Feig who apparently has misandtrist tendencies to make a politically motivated girl power movie that simultaneously takes a massive dump on a classic franchise who many were excited to get a legitimate third installment of. Even if this movie turned out good, i'd still advise people not to see simply because of how fucking scummy Sony was being about it. I hate to make watching films a political choice but its not my fault if thats how they decided to produce and market this piece of shit. [editline]hm[/editline] MisterMooth, would you care to challenge my post?
And provide some reason to the conspiracy shit. So what the FUCK was so wrong with what i said.
They're relevant because he has to reply to 3 people and you're wondering why he's somewhat annoyed that you're straight up talking to him like a kid because he isn't watching your videos that don't answer his problems.
Videos that'd give him a better understanding of the situation allowing him to form a more concise and convincing argument.
The 2nd one is relevant because it adds to the fact that you're all moving goal posts when you reply to him. You're talking about some other shit when you reply to him. You guys aren't talking to him or addressing his main point.
?
And honestly I'm getting tired of this. Why don't you lazy people summarize the shitloads of videos you're posting in an argument. I wouldn't watch that shit either I'm not going to watch these 4 videos someone else made because you can't articulate a point on an internet forum.Seriously way to latch him on to a fixed time slot of 1 hour instead of just typing up a summary or paraphrasing the 4 goddamn videos you watched and letting him read at his own pace.
Because it already exists. Because its redundant. Because i dont have to spoonfeed you something you're capable of doing yourself.
You could probably type up a summary faster than the time it takes to watch those damn videos you keep howling about.
Maybe.
Seriously no one cares about the shitty videos. They don't address his main point which shouldn't even need addressing. What is their to even argue about in the idea that some people liked the movie?
Refer to first point in this post.
He called people delusional for acting like the movie was flopping
Movie hasnt released yet so it determining that will take time.
Movie hasnt released yet so it determining that will take time.
Didn't the embargo lift yesterday though?
Didn't the embargo lift yesterday though?
Lifts on release, i think. Sony is allowing the current reviews to remain up as far as im aware. And "flop" can refer to critical or financial, or overall, so he'd have to specify, and even then, it'd still take a week or so for it all to cool.
He called people delusional for acting like the movie was flopping and acting like all the reviews were bad when it had near an 80 percent on the tomatometer He literally mentioned the sentiments shared in that "strawman" before he even made the post about delusions You guys just need to stop looking for shit to argue about

reviews have been out for a while and it's nearing 80% on RT lol but let's continue this delusion
Read the goddamn thread before trying to argue with people for fuck sake If mooth did this wouldn't be happening
Here's a negative review if anyone is interest in it. http://chicago.suntimes.com/entertainment/ghostbusters-reboot-a-horrifying-mess/ Also, spoilers.
2. He's literally saying that acting like the movie is flopping because you linked to one bad review is stupid when its RT score is at 80 percent.
To be fair, thats not its score. Its actual average score is a 6.6/10 which is mediocre at best.
3. Stop trying to get zingers off of me when you're on your phone.
Thats borderline shitposting. Like, post-method elitism?
3. Stop trying to get zingers off of me when you're on your phone.
Here we go, we've gotten to that "point out the icons" level of adhom shitposting
Lifts on release, i think. Sony is allowing the current reviews to remain up as far as im aware. And "flop" can refer to critical or financial, or overall, so he'd have to specify, and even then, it'd still take a week or so for it all to cool.
The embargo was lifted yesterday according to Reddit. Also I think "flop" is always critical, "bomb" is financial.
I have No idea what is going on anymore in this thread. But I think this movie end up like the amazing spider-man 2, were the tomatoes score will be in the 80s but then after the move is released it will drop considerably.
To be fair, thats not its score. Its actual average score is a 6.6/10 which is mediocre at best. Thats borderline shitposting. Like, post-method elitism?
Not to mention that he wasn't even replying to a counter for his original post that was yesterday that only got one response, he was forming a whole new argument when he did that
The embargo was lifted yesterday according to Reddit. Also I think "flop" is always critical, "bomb" is financial.
Is it? Its really weird, i cant actually get a definite answer if it is, and im a little skeptical of a reddit dude. Also, movie terms are weird.
The embargo was lifted yesterday according to Reddit. Also I think "flop" is always critical, "bomb" is financial.
Nah flop is financial too. I forget the word for critical bombs
It's not even that serious. Holy fuck lighten up, its a joke. Mooth is on his phone too It's like you guys go out of your way to start shit
Your joke was tantamount to punching a dude in the face and getting mad when he calls the cops.
Seriously like what are you two? Connected at the hip?
No. [editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
RT score as in Tomatometer. Not its rating
Yes, and? Average score, listed on rotten tomatoes, is a 6.6 Batman v. Superman has a 5.0 Explain this.
It's not even that serious. Holy fuck lighten up, its a joke. Mooth is on his phone too It's like you guys go out of your way to start shit
You literally just tried to discredit my thoughts by pointing out I'm on a phone, and you have the audacity to say I'm going out of the way to start shit?
It's not even that serious. Holy fuck lighten up, its a joke. Mooth is on his phone too It's like you guys go out of your way to start shit
haha its just a joke dude lighten up its just a joke why
RT score as in Tomatometer. Not its rating Seriously, the tomato comes first so I don't know why you brought that up In fact the goddamn tomato is 77 percent. It's the only close to 80 thing on the page
Because you dont know how the website functions. The tomato percentage is stupid because its not an actual rating, its a "fresh" or "rotten" score, nobody really knows what it means because its a nebulous definition that just happens to usually line up with the actual score and is based on how positive or negative the overall review was despite the score in said review. Which you can see in that picture. In fact it went down.
Nah flop is financial too. I forget the word for critical bombs
I think the correct term is "oh fuck oh fuck call Marvel" [editline]11th July 2016[/editline] Whoa.
The tomato meter is a weird thing where someone reads the critics and labels them as positive or negative as a black and white figure from what I can tell. I've seen negative reviews marked fresh for some reason before. The percentage is how much was deemed positive [editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
I think the correct term is "oh fuck oh fuck call Marvel" [editline]11th July 2016[/editline] Whoa.
This just in: Ghostbusters acquired by Disney for $2 and a Slimer bust
Fuck it, looking at it now and thinking about it, those fresh scores are full of shit. Theres no fucking way it could be that high with the average score being a pitiful 6.5, Batman v. Superman is sitting at a 5/10 with a score of 30% or so. Whoevers in charge of rating these scores is being a slimy dick, isnt he. [editline]11th July 2016[/editline] Batman v. Superman is sitting at 27% with a 4.9/10 score, how the fuck is Ghostbusters at 77% with a 6.5
