Adding onto this, he mentions it pretty much has to be successful in its second weekend.
Star Trek.
I think thats all that needs to be said :v:

I bet the staff for most of these places wouldn't even check to see if you snuck in or not. Would also make for a nice riffing session where you and your friends just rag on the movie the entire time and discuss it.

Found out something interesting...
Anyone else remember the David Manning controversy? How Columbia cooked up a fake reviewer so their movies could get some positive press?
You know who was the Chairman of Columbia at the time?
Amy Pascal.
This rabbit hole may go deeper than we thought.
they couldn't even be bothered to make a sound effect for it, it's just "huh we're all sitting here and i heard a weird thing"
no dramatic pan in as we hear ghost sounds through the ears of the character or anything like that
just something they can film in like two minutes

I don't give a shit about spoiling this movie, this is the only movie I'll spoil. pretty sure no one has any objections

Is it just me, or is there an unusually large amount of "frontal shot of all characters side-by-side" scenes?
Probably a weird thing to point out, but I can't get it out of my head.
chris hemsworth is seriously the funniest part of the movie
nothing else was even a joke. and i feel like chris made up most of his lines because they don't even fit with the rest of the film
I just saw the movie, I actually liked it. I actually laughed at a lot of it, the plot while retreading some ground still felt unique. I definitely liked the feel of them still getting on their feet.

The movie isn't terrible, it just has so much bad stuff bringing it down. All of my favourite stuff was in the second half with the ghosts.
EDIT:
I still think the movie is a piece of shit, but the only thing that i enjoyed were the ghosts. Pretty much don't watch the movie.

My favorite part of the movie is when the credits rolled.

my favorite part is watching the original instead and not this reboot that we didn't want or need.

Which part was that? Was that in a director's cut?
Pleased with our work, we were anxious to see the finished product. Going in, we knew that we would be serving mainly as movement reference, and sure enough, the animators faithfully duplicated a lot of the movements we created on set. Unfortunately, worse news was yet to come: at the end of the film, the great work by TCS and crew was completely left out of the end credits. For a $144 million film, it's disappointing to deliver something of value above and beyond what the Director and Production have requested, to have great looking Practical FX smeared over by inferior CG work, and to then be not given the credit deserved.
TCS President Rick Lazzarini called attention to this poor behavior with a special Facebook post, and personally thanked the hardworking crew, each by name, who had worked so hard to contribute to the quality and success of the film. With over 77 shares and 256 likes, it shows that the Practical FX community cares about being recognized for their efforts...just as much as hundreds of folks in the VFX departments do. [editline]25th July 2016[/editline]

They're pulling a Hobbit, apparently. According to the emails shown in one of the videos floating around the thread, I think they're going for a series of movies ending in Zuul.

[sp] Christ, bill murray didn't even get his comeuppance, he didn't cause this problem, one of the main cast (Who should no better) just fucking murdered him.[/sp]
They really are screaming FUCK YOU GHOSTBUSTERS FANS with this aren't they?
Isn't Zuul a henchman? Are they banking off the THERE IS ONLY ZUUL meme since no one remembers gozer's name?
Isn't Zuul a henchman? Are they banking off the THERE IS ONLY ZUUL meme since no one remembers gozer's name?
Yeah probably, Zuul was just a dog/sigourney weaver.

Dunno how people could forget about Gozer seeing as Vinz Clortho spouts its name over and over again.
Unless they've, huh, never seen the movie?

The salt is flowing now that journos are accepting that its a failure
so salltttyyy
the original Ghostbusters was neither the most lucrative film released in 1984 nor the year’s biggest social breakthrough
Its delicous
It's grossed less than Ghostbusters 2, despite opening in over 1.5 times as many theaters. That's impressive.
Calculating for Inflation today, Ghostbusters 2 gross over $400 million
