Some men like getting kicked in the dick for pleasure, doesn't make it less bad
I'm not denying that it's bad, I'm denying that the idea that it wasn't successful.
Budget was 250 million, the box office was 871 million. If it was a 250 million budget and a 300 million return, then it's obviously a failure.

Yep, yep Movieblob his appearance matters.
I just love the specific choice of words.
"Ostentatious"
How the hell is that ostentatious? Almost everything about him is casual.
And when you look at Bob, he wears flashy outfits with contrasting colours - black and blazing orange, and wears sunglasses that are far more ostentatious than anything Matt styles.
Obviously appearances don't matter - but if you're going to make an already shitty claim at least don't make it hypocritical and flat out wrong.
My biggest problem about this movie is that it feels like the movie was created and its plot was "Ghostbuster but girl power". If they made the movie to make a movie it might have been ok, but the fact that it is clearly women first and plot later hurt it.
Ehh, i never care that much.
How long until the sexism defense stops working anymore anyways
How long until the sexism defense stops working anymore anyways
It never did to begin with. That bullshit attempt to rebuttal criticism by saying oh "just sexist men being sexist" has never worked and never will work. Those are the types of people who do not know how film critique operates. I don't find that kind of attitude emblematic of a much larger problem besides relentless dumb bashing.
[editline]9th July 2016[/editline]
When there are more reviews on this film, there will be a larger uproar about it. Even saying "it's good" is not good enough, because (some) people will think you said that for the wrong reasons (i.e. thinking you liked the film just because that one actress was hot).
Deadpool was pretty hyped, though. Especially by reddit.
Saying Deadpool was successful because of reddit is like saying Zootopia was successful because of furries.
I'm worried that the guy will get in shit for breaking a review embargo. Is this a possibility?
[editline]349[/editline]
also is the review embargo seriously on opening day lmao
review embargos are such dumb shit imo
Saying Deadpool was successful because of reddit is like saying Zootopia was successful because of furries.
Deadpool was hyped due to the leaked script and footage. Both of which circulated everywhere not just reddit.
How long until the sexism defense stops working anymore anyways
Too long.
Saying Deadpool was successful because of reddit is like saying Zootopia was successful because of furries.
Deadpool was successful because of deadpool. The awareness that there was a deadpool movie was powered by the internet (more so powered than any other movie).
[editline]430[/editline]
Deadpool was advertised just as much as Batman vs Superman, was my point. The initial positive reviews helped it, too.

u no people say a lot of bad things about that hitler fella and his boys but they wore hugo boss i dont get it?????
All I can say is I really hope this doesn't ruin Kate Mckinnon's career before it really starts because she's fucking great
I thought Chris Kattan was great, and he was, coming out of SNL to do movies, Roxburry was pretty good for a movie based on a sketch, good things are coming. And then Corky happened. I still like Kattan but Corky turned him into a has-been as far as Hollywood is concerned
Deadpool was pretty hyped, though. Especially by reddit.
Well, hyped or not, you can also 'blame' the excellent marketing and PR management.
Also, that #12DaysofDeadpool campaign was one of the best marketing efforts I've experienced in the market yet.
And let's not forget the Deadpool trailers: if those video tidbits didn't get your ass into a cinema seat, I don't know what would have...
Ghostbusters female edition bombed right at the trailer level of marketing. No hype to be had, insane downvotes.
Their Ghostbusters campaign was based on totally riding the franchise wave, got deadtracked when trailer failed to deliver the hype, immediately triggered the negative reputation management, trying to minmize the failure, blaming the audience for mysoginistic behavior, etc.

And the shitty thing is that they're still going to get a ton of cash.
I intentionally messed my hair up in that picture to give it a sorta mugshotish aesthetic
that's also the reason i lit it like that, took it from straight on, put myself off-center, relaxed my face and made the colors warm and faded
maybe if you had a sense of aesthetics you would be able to tell that OOOOHHHHH
LMAO
holy shit are you even self aware?
Well man that's because I'm sittin here posting things that piss you off. I'm not trolling though, these are my actual opinions
then again i dont particularly care about the first impression from someone who plays steam games 30 hours a week
maybe if you had a sense of aesthetics you would be able to tell that OOOOHHHHH

Fuck this movie so much
if you have good taste in movies then you probably have good taste in clothing and haircuts as well, and a good sense of aesthetics
a good life philosophy is to never listen to the recommendations of someone who wears cargo shorts, for example
i have no idea who moviebob is but i google images'd him and i wouldn't follow his recommendations either
or jim sterling
this is complete bullshit tbh
im a total fuckin snob when it comes to movies and television (in part due to studying analysis at university) but i legit look like i was dressed by a colorblind 10 year old most days
ever wondered why college professors generally wear shirts and blazers? because nobody would take them seriously if they wore a band t-shirt with some cargo shorts
One of the lead professors in my major at uni wears nothing but band shirts, denim jeans, and flip-flops. He constantly calls people "normies" and refers to heavy forces as "mother-in-law loads". He's widely regarded as the best Structural Engineering professor on campus.
Appearances don't really mean everything
review embargos are such dumb shit imo
9 times out of 10, review embargos are pretty much code for "we know this movie sucks, but we don't want YOU to know that until you've already paid for the ticket".
Does anyone know when the reviews go up?

Polygon likes it, movie officially confirmed for piece of misandrist shit.
The only way this could get any better is if Kotaku praises it. Which they probably will.

I try to be open-minded but if Polygen endorses something it's probably shit.

No, the only way this could get better if Kotaku praises it and virtually every reputable critic slams it.
