Turns out we're all wrong and the movie is great!

Once Polygon, and most media, realizes it cannot make people like the movie I am 99.9% sure they are going to try and slam the crew as sexist and racist.
I just don't get how people can knowingly tow this line of "if you don't like this you're sexist" in the name of progressivism.
It flies directly in the face of progressivism. Fuck, one of the 4 main characters is a black stereotype who's only there for comic relief. You can't tell me this movie is some bastion of enlightened forward thinking. It's fuckin pandering and so many people out there ain't having it.

They know it's awful - they are just too scared to criticize it since they'd be biting the hand that feeds them.

This [del]game[/del] film is being touted as some progressive thing, while all the male characters are assholes or idiots. In the original films there weren't many female characters but the ones who were there were strong characters, their secretary wasn't an attractive airhead (like in the reboot) she was a competent worker who is implied to be the reason they manage to stay in business.

Reviews are getting taken down by Sony for not brown-nosing, IGN even re-wrote theirs. Here's an archive of Vanity's just in case theirs gets taken down.
Second review I read that says Chris Hemsworth was the best actor in the film of the main cast.

What the fuck, getting "taken down" by Sony? How does that work?

Looks like there is more of that, here is a snapshot of the review from "Den of Geek", which they pulled because it was posted before the review embargo:
Feig handles the visual effects fairly well – they’re burnished to a very high and colorful standard, with some of the bigger manifestations having real weight to them – but his direction of the actors often stumbles into that curious combination of rushed and slack that seems to befall every comedy director these days from Apatow on down. The improv may seem funny on the set, but on film it just meanders until someone finally decides to shut the camera off. There’s a bit less of it here than in Feig’s earlier films (probably as a result of having to play to CG effects than come later in production), but it’s still a chronic problem and not just for this director.
I never hated the 2016 Ghostbusters while watching it; I say that as someone who doesn’t revere the original but enjoys it on cable once in a while. It too works intermittently and the effects look way cheesier now, but at the same time no one will ever match Bill Murray’s laconic, tossed-off brilliance. The cast is the new film’s greatest strength, but as they go through their paces one starts to get the same feeling one had watching The Amazing Spider-Man a few years ago: why are we telling this story again, just with different people and a few remixed aspects?
They gave it a 3/5.
It is like these reviewers are afraid of being labeled hypocrites by giving this movie a really bad review.
So apparently reviews have to be approved by the company that made the product now? And they have to be positive?
Oh shit I just remembered that we were always at war with Eurasia
That should be illegal, if that's the case
Someone just come out and say it's piece of shit already instead of beating round the bush. You can't polish a turd, no matter what you do it's still a sticky piece of bacteria covered, awful smelling faecal matter. They made a shit movie, Sony should accept it's shit and move on. If Sony wants better reviews, Make a better fucking movie!
That should be illegal, if that's the case
It's illegal to shill something without disclosing you're affiliated but this might be different
If reviewers make their voices heard loud enough, then Sony can't possibly hold to silence them all.
If nothing else all the cost of silencing will hurt them more and a Streisand effect will play
The only way this could get any better is if Kotaku praises it. Which they probably will.
Imagine if Kotaku slams the ever living shit out of it tho

If it somehow managed to get through past editors unchanged with a negative view of the film, the writer would probably get fired within a week.
As terrible as it would be, another Gerstmann scenario is likely with something like this.
it kinda does

is this a japanese thing?
is this a japanese thing?
No, it's just a putrid snob thing.
This damage control cannot go on for any longer. In fact, with this shit, they're asking to get their asses blasted even harder.

i think they where to hoping to get bang back first weekend and leave the movie in the wild
Even though he somehow dodged the embargo due to the idiocy of organizations involved, i'm surprised the video in the OP hasn't been attacked yet. A dude that tagged along for the ride has the only legitimate and uncensored viewpoint on the whole thing.
The possibility that they're probably being paid to put up good reviews isn't what gets me, it's the actual reviews themselves.
Reading some of the positive reviews is like walking into Branson, Missouri. Immediately you've got generic "THIS IS FUN! FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! YOU'LL LOVE IT!" shoved into your face without any actual explanation behind what makes it good. If all you can say is "LAUGH OUT LOUD HUMOR!" about a movie, it's pretty fucking obvious you didn't even try.
This article almost makes me feel like saying he deserved to get beaten up. Seriously, what the fuck Paul? Were the locker room bants too strong to handle that you grew up to be a total asshat
That's kinda fucked up regardless of what kind of person he is, to be honest.
All I can say is I really hope this doesn't ruin Kate Mckinnon's career before it really starts because she's fucking great
I thought Chris Kattan was great, and he was, coming out of SNL to do movies, Roxburry was pretty good for a movie based on a sketch, good things are coming. And then Corky happened. I still like Kattan but Corky turned him into a has-been as far as Hollywood is concerned
She's really not that funny, though.
Just about everything she did on SNL (and how much else has she done?) is just standard cringeworthy post-Farley crap. It's not just the material she's working with, she really has next to no comedic timing.
"LAUGH OUT LOUD HUMOR!"
As opposed to "laugh silently in your head humor"

She's played some really funny characters on the Weekend Update segment in my opinion.

I noticed that too. I frequent Rotten Tomatoes a lot, and I can't remember the last time I saw so many early positive reviews for a flick that sound like PR talking points from the film studio itself.
