I really hope these people get paid a fuckton to say they liked it. Otherwise they're just being idiots.
Wouldn't surprise me if all the people that were defending the movie are trying to avoid saying they hated it.

What's with all the conspiracy nonsense here? Are other people not allowed to enjoy movies because you're so outraged?
All I've seen from the reviews so far that it's generally considered pretty decent and probably better than the second, and not at all the horrible flop everyone desperately wanted it to be. I don't understand this continued denial and outright rejection of other people's opinions.

I think people (including myself) are angry because it would have been such poetic justice for all of the horrible things the producers did if it ended up getting critically panned. People were really looking forward to that.

What happens when women don't like it?

Internalised misogyny

Couldn't tell you. To watch Harold Ramis write up a script for a third film, watch Sony kick it around like a kid with a ball for 30 years, Ramis dies, then when Disney makes sick bank with the Marvel franchise Sony flails around hoping something sticks and then dedicate this film to him despite him being dead for years before this was even in the works leaves a sour taste in my mouth. That and the stuff with Bill Murray. While I won't go as far as to call it a conspiracy to have your embargoes up till the last minute I just hope the opinions being positive aren't solely because of the female cast and it's just generally an okay movie.

lol
Normally the fact that pages of negative reviews contain an occasional positive one wouldn't bother me. But given the circumstances it's highly possibly that the positive ones are shills/people who work for the studio trying to drum up positive "viewer" reaction.
...........I miss the old days of movies, back when I was a kid and blissfully unaware of things like shill reviews, studio cover ups and the like.
So it seems that the movie is actually not terrible, just...ok.
The major point of contention is the chemistry between the characters. The 'good' reviews say the chemistry is great, and the 'bad' reviews say that the chemistry is terrible.
Cant wait until the Half in the Bag review of this unholy piece of aborted fetal matter.
What happens when women don't like it?
they pretend they don't exist / are gender traitors
sony is intentionally trying to spin it as sexism
I wouldn't know a whole lot about the first two since I don't watch SNL, but good lord, how high are your standards on looks? She looks a bit less than average at worst.
My standards are pretty lenient, that's not it. Sometimes I'm into odd features. She looks like a racist 40s-50s cartoon came to life. It's no wonder she got picked for a stereotype role.
That picture is more flattering than usual (promoshop?) but it's still shit.
My review: Please do not listen to any of these politically correct shill reviewers. Im a gender egalitarian and im all for womens rights but this Ghostbusters movie is anything but equal. This ghostbusters trashes on men so much. Like holy shit. Chris hemsworth is the only main male guy and hes a dunce, useless, and he is constantly harrassed by the women. Its disgusting to see this double standard exist. Fuck this movie. Fuck paul feig. The CGI is shit. Kate Mckinnon is great. Christ hemsworth is great (in a bad role). Leslie jones is portraying a racist and stereotypical black woman. I cant vent enough about how much this movie sucked and how racist, cliche-ridden, disgusting, disrespectful, and just downright unjust to men and wonen. Sorry i had to vent. Honestly the worst movie ive ever gone to see. Im ashamed i went to an early premiere. Im ashamed at the film industry for producing this piece of shit. And im ashamed at thise SJW and politically correct reviewers who are too afraid to voice their real opinions or are being paid by sony to say something positive (which has happened before). This is disgrace. Do not support this movie. Its not helping women or men. I dont care that its an all female lead cast but dont go bashing guys the whole time and fucking creating stereotypes of men and women. FUCK. Sorry i had to vent.
Insensitive as fuck opinion incoming, but if you're genuinely this upset about something. Then you need to talk a step back.

Are you refering to my rants about how terrible the engine is? I don't write half-assed breakdown driven paragraphs.
If I did, can you call me out on it? I would like to see an example of what you think is on the same level of that incredibly emotional response to ghostbusters.
If this is true then I'm actually offended.
[editline]340[/editline]
nvm he confirms this in the video
jesus fuck i hope this movie bombs, there's a difference between trying to put women on the same pedestal as men, and putting women on a pedestal and kicking them off.
I think this is the most emotional thing I've said about any piece of entertainment ever because perception of equality matters more to my life than a terrible game.
"I'm the exception you see"
If they made the characters all stereotypical homosexuals and and called anyone who didn't like it a "homophobe" i'd be pretty fucking mad too, just like him
I can see why gender egalitarians are mad. Portraying gender in poor light is a bad thing to do when you're riding off of the idea of girl power
"I'm the exception you see"
Can you point out the time where I've gotten on that level of anger? I genuinely like to know because it would actually help me.
I'm not trying to say that I'm the exception, you're pretty much comparing "Man, this game is absolute garbage and it's unfortunate that the next game in it's series would be terrible." to "Please do not listen to any of these politically correct shill reviewers. Like holy shit. Its disgusting to see this double standard exist. Fuck this movie. Fuck paul feig."
tbh I don't remember when I've ever seen Mr. Rofl. B. Urger get mad
but it's perfectly reasonable to be offended by a movie, and thus, get mad at it
He's mad now and apparently rants about a 5 year old GOTY being "terrible" on a regular basis
[editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
Don't really care that he's a hypocrite though, what he said was just stupid

Are referring to Skyrim? Skyrim is one of my all time favorite games. Bought the whole game + DLC twice because I loved it so much. What can I do to prove my love for that game?
If you're going to disagree with someone, disagree with someone. Don't peddle the narrative that I'm some sort of hypocrite if you don't care or don't have the proof to back it up.

How does 3 posts saying that I thought the video was egotistical = mad/mad on the same levels of that guy writing up an incredibly heated post on an image uploading site?

You're allowed to get mad at it. Hell, I'm mad at the movie for the same reasons the guy in the video is mad for. I'm not saying that you're not allowed to be mad, I'm saying that if you're going to get overly emotional about ghostbuster then you need to step back.
Then what game do you whine about in TES thread all day? ET?
this thread is now about people complaining about TES apparently
how about you instead reply with something that has a point and is relevent, like why he is wrong in your opinion, not why he's a 'hypocrite'

tbh it does seem pretty petty to get too upset over a film, not quite sure how mad he is exactly in reality but
it's not like ghostbusters is going to make the world a shittier place
The post is them getting upset that reviews are bullshitting consumers for $$$ and political agendas
[editline]11th July 2016[/editline]
I did j!nx I didn't bring up TES thread in the first place and he responded professing his love for skyrim, when I specifically said his hypocrisy doesn't matter

Time I ever complained about the Skyrim Remaster was when it was announced, which was 1 month ago. I ceased bitching about the Skyrim Remaster after I learned that it's free if you have the legendary edition.

Really you can bring this whole conversation around if you point out that the people who are trying to dismiss my opinion by saying "Oh you're just mad", like how most of the people who are disappointed with Ghostbusters are dismissed by saying "Oh you're just an angry sexist."
If you don't like something, and you're mad about something, you're allowed to get mad. You have every right to get mad. You are not sexist if you hate ghostbusters, you are not a redpiller if you hate ghostbusters. The only label you should ever receive for disliking ghostbusters is "Rational person who doesn't like the new ghostbusters."
What I'm trying to say is that if you genuinely start getting worked up about the new ghostbusters, then that's a problem.

Depends what you define as getting worked up.
We can criticize and hate this movie but that doesn't exactly constitute as getting worked up about it. Acting like it's a detriment to society and ruining everything is getting worked up but criticizing it for trying to present itself as progressive whilst actually doing the opposite isn't really what I'd call freaking out.
People are taking your post the wrong way I think.
