That's actually a very stupid Idea. People who live in poverty can often not manage large sums of money when it's given to them at once. Most of them usually lose it right away.
Very good point
Personally I would have gone about it in a more responsible way
It's still better than them having no money at all.
No it's not. It's easy to waste your money away when you live in such poor conditions. People who live from hand to mouth don't have an efficient way of spending money other than "now", because that's how they're used to live.
It's much better to donate that money to a charitable organization that helps those kinds of people than to give it all to one person.
Where is that river, I want to go look for the watch.
in modern world the gap between rich and poor is insane
if i was insanely rich
i would just hand people money
would be awesome.

Way to take my words out of context.
I want him to pay for my college so I can afford having a low-wage job doing something I like.

I'll gladly take all your money.
Where can I write a letter to this guy? I'll trade him a hug for a 2012 M5.
Plus that car would pretty much be the only car I'll ever need :v:
Why didnt he just give the watch to some poor guy on the street instead of throwing it into the river?
He is still a very generous guy.
It looks like he is at least trying to do some good.

the watch was a metaphor
I'd love to email him and tell him to help a fellow Arab out. I would love if he helped pay my Medschool fees (to take a huge load off of my parents), but sadly, I doubt it'd ever happen.
Plus, I'd just feel guilty asking for his help for some reason.
Can he give me 150$ so I can buy a portable air purifier for my asthma and some filters for it?
Or, you know, he could throw a watch away that is worth $390,000.
1984 Audi Quattro or Jaguar E-Type in British racing green plz.
Actually, I've changed my mind. I don't want his money, I just want to be ~loved~.
"I could feed people with this watch"
proceeds to toss it in river
