yeah same here (but friday), and i got in for free :smug:
.....they never came to Serbia :smithicide: Im jealous
I don't like the vocals in Relentless Reckless Forever. It just annoys me,prefer the old vocals.I heard somewhere that Alexi didn't want do songs similar to their old style cos he didn't want to make something that was already out there like yngwie malmsteen would make or something like that.I hope it isn't true, probably a rumor. Still like their classic stuff though
Wouldn't put it past him. [editline]12th April 2011[/editline] I don't really see anything wrong with what he said Putting out the same record for 15 years gets old. And who would wanna be like Yngwie Malmsteen lol Despite all the shit Alexi gets I agree with him on a lot of points. Although he said Devin Townsend sucks and I can't forgive him for that.
Although he said Devin Townsend sucks and I can't forgive him for that.
I can never like Alexi now.
Although he said Devin Townsend sucks and I can't forgive him for that.
He has no idea what the fuck he's talking about.
Although he said Devin Townsend sucks and I can't forgive him for that.
Do you have a reliable source on that?

Great op. Went to see them last friday in Birmingham, along with Amon Amarth and Ensiferium. Can honestly say they were pretty fucking awesome.
I used to listen to CoB alot, but it has went alot worse on the new albums.
can't remember the source He doesn't like Opeth either but that's just an opinion idk I think it's unfair on him that so many people quote him on saying Dream Theater isn't music, they quote it so selectively. He called it sports instead :v: Which I totally see where he's coming from really... I mean have you listened to DT? Most of their new stuff is just technical proggy wankery. (although they're still awesome) [editline]12th April 2011[/editline] Actually I just remembered. Either Alexi has changed his opinion, or it's a rumour cos Devin's supporting CoB on their US tour
I'm torn with Children of Bodom. Their album Are You Dead Yet has some good pieces to it, but, ehh. My biggest qualm with CoB are Alexi's vocals. Honestly, if they got someone other than Alexi doing vocals, I would probably enjoy them a lot more. Don't much care who does them, because Alexi is one of the worst vocalists I've ever heard. I absolutely love the thick tone to the guitar and drum though on the album. "In Your Face" has one of the best intros I've ever heard, especially when the keyboard kicks in (I love keyboard in metal :gizz:), but the first few verses of the song are horrendous. The rest of the song, though, is actually quite good - especially the chorus. I wish I could find more bands with a tone like that. I absolutely love the tone.
Yeah I love CoB's emphasis on keyboards. Also Are You Dead Yet? has such a damn catchy chorussss Kicks in just after 1:30 Enemy, take one good look at me eradicate what you will always be Tainted flesh, polluted soul Through a mirror I behold Throw a punch Shards bleed on the floor Tearing me apart but I don't care anymore Should I regret or ask myself Are you dead yet? :slick:

Yeah I know he is. And he didn't say he sucked, he said he thought he was just another wanky guitar player like Steve Vai But yeah he apologised, and acknowledged that he wasn't as good as John Then John Petrucci was all "Better than Alexi Laiho? No way, that guy can play fast solos while drunk!" :v: Don't think that's exactly what he said

I didn't mind his old vocals though, the melodies just sets everything right for me in my opinion of cos

I was confused too :v:
It's just so wrong, and so backwards, and I bet most of the CoB fans out there at the gigs will be like "Who the fuck is this guy?" When he's playing shit from Ziltoid and terria and the like and my dear sweet Dev will get no love :arghfist::saddowns:
Yeah it sucks :smith: And those who like him may well not appreciate the genius that is Devin I mean sure. There'll be plenty who DO love him and understand his musical mastery but there will be lots who don't [editline]12th April 2011[/editline] Also, the other two bands supporting are Obscura(:pcgaming:) and Septic Flesh
Eww. Obscura.
nawww man Nawww
..which are/is your favourite cob song(s) guys?:) (trying to make thread more fun) [editline]12th April 2011[/editline] Ca5bah why are you gifting me?.....
song(s) [can't pick just one, just honorable mentions and not in any particular order]: Hatebreeder,Children of bodom, angels don't kill, needled 24/7,Touch like an Angel of death,Children of Decadence,Hate me!,Bodom Beach terror,Silent night bodom night, bed of razors and just maybe are you dead yet? and in your face :downs:
Children of Bodom was the band that got me into death metal so they'll always have a special place for me but I just can't bring myself to like their new album. Blooddrunk was tolerable but this new album just seems like more of the same to me.
Eww. Obscura.
Eat dicks in hell Gmod :arghfist: [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] CoB seemed to lower in quality as their guitar tuning changed. Everything up to HCD was in D, and most was pretty kickass (wasn't a massive Hatebreeder fan), then HCD had a couple songs in drop C, which is when they started going in the direction they are now and ditching the awesome neoclassical elements. Then AYDY and Blooddrunk were both in drop C and they were pretty weak overall [editline]13th April 2011[/editline] Also Alexi is a planet sized douche
I used to listen to these guys a lot but I don't find the song writing mature or interesting, Alexi's got a pretty good lead style though. And OP you can't just post in a forum and hate everyone because you can't spell, embed links or hold an argument properly.
Something Wild was fuckin awesome The classical influences were so sweet. If Mozart played in a metal band Something Wild would be one of his works
Something Wild was fuckin awesome The classical influences were so sweet. If Mozart played in a metal band Something Wild would be one of his works
Actually a lot of the music on that album IS Mozart's, you'll notice Red Light in my eyes Pt. II is actually just His 20th symphony at the start, and later sections from his requiem mass.
