Meanwhile U.S. army chopper arrives, pilot quickly begins locking on the missile on other helicopter. He looks over to three soldiers on back; "Alright lads! Looks like we've got a company! From this what I see there are two RHIB boats and a helicopter. Since we have only one missile left, I'll destroy the heli. Then drop you off somewhere."
One of soldiers respond. "Shit, maybe they wont notice that we just stole this fucking chopper and think that we're here to help?"
"Damn! Do you think that they don't know about four traitors stealing OH-58? Most of the army have been talking about that on the radio for past hour!"

The organic-ridden husk of the Necron Immortal stirs and shifts beneath the corrupting coating. Sensing a breach in its own control mechanisms and failing reanimation protocols, it and its weapon self destructs rather than risk capture by an unknown source. The Warriors that were subservient to the Immortal care little, it would seem, as they begin their trek to whatever drew them to this location with no hint of emotion or remorse. The elevator system is pinged and it starts to move down to the ground floor, no doubt drawing the attention of the enemy soldiers above.

Meanwhile, yet another green flash reveals the entry of another Necron, though this one appears vastly different to the others. Adorned in various gold trimmings as well as appearing to have a much sturdier body, this one seems to be much more perceptive than the others, as he shifts his gaze to various spots in the derelict base. After a long pause, it begins to synthesize in a chilling voice.

Necrons have to deal with the possibility of capture on the battlefield if their reanimation protocols fail, which often equates to their body being beyond repair. If they can't re-animate, they just explode so that they can't be examined by their enemies.
(I'm not bullshitting it's written in their codex please don't hate me)
Wouldn't that protocol not work if the CPU is busted tho?

By the way my next turn that floor your necron is standing on is going to crumble and open up to the acid pit.
Since I'm not gonna have the necron float above a hole it's your choice. Does it fall in and melt, or escape?
Dmaster did you intend for the new adorned necron to be floating in the middle of the map halfway in a wall?

And as for the Necron that's on the crumbling ground, it's going to be taking that elevator pretty soon, so I guess it'll escape.
EDIT: As for the logical cpu-related question, this self-destruct is done through more ~mysterious~ matters as it only occurs when Necrons are incapable of repair. Perhaps the process itself is automatic, and happens when the body senses a break in it's link to the "processor" of the Necron? I don't know, the finer workings are left ambiguous, all I know is that they destroy their technology when it's impossible to fix on the battlefield.
