There's a lot of resentment directed toward the Jews, both before and after the holocaust. It stems from the argument that they "stole our daily bread" if people had only ever been told that, they would have nothing to compare it against. Hitler used this subtle, bubbling hatred as a method of 'cleansing' the human race of the unworthy. Also Christians are generally informed that the Jews both let Jesus get caught, and told Pontius Pilate to execute him. It's a lot of misinformation and anecdotal evidence, but it's hard to tell people that what they have always believed is wrong.
