Rayven, I've been meaning to ask, how do you deal with every day pain?
I have several health problems that are incurable that I have to deal with on a day to day basis. Nothing that will kill me, but they do make every day life difficult. And I'm stuck with them for the rest of my life. How do you generally get through it?
this thread is heartworthy
Fuck it, 1$ donated to push it over to 300$.
I truly hope you can get better Rayven.
Here, have the remaining $2.01 on my Paypal. I know I'm not nearly as cool as the people giving $20+, but I figured every penny counts. I'll see if I can throw more in later.
Thank you all for donating, every penny really does help. We are getting close to $300 which would be quite the milestone. Facepunch can be really great at times.

Remember, PayPal takes like 3% for itself.

I just have to, none of the pain medications presented do a damn thing.
I mentally though, take the pain, squash it up into a ball, turn it into anger and use that to offset the pain (Not that I'm an angry person or anything, but fighting pain by hating it works out suprisingly well.
It's hard to describe though, distractions also work, playing games, listening to music, reading, talking to people etc etc
Speaking of pain, i just stretched then and my entire back cracked (like when you crack your knuckles) hurt like a bitch but god did it feel good afterwards.
Yeah, I stopped relying on meds a while ago. I had developed an addiction to one of them and had to have an intervention from my family so since then, I've stayed away from most medication unless I absolutely need it.
Thanks though. Nice to know that there are ways to ignore and try and offset pain.
Stay cool.
Yeah, it's kind of great, the more i hurt when I'm out, the angrier at it i get, and it sorta iss lessened, it doesn't go away, but just lets me get that little bit further, until i get in and collapse into a boneless heap.

I have intestinal issues that give me stomach aches every day, several times a day. Sometimes they're severe, sometimes they're not. But they're triggered by a lot of things including food, anxiety, nervousness, fear, excitement, etc. It's hard to go out with friends and stuff because it always acts up to the point where I don't even want to go out because I know it will make my day terrible. Sometimes it's an ache, sometimes it's a pain similar to when you get an ulcer. Other times it's so severe that I can't even get out of bed.
It's incurable and hereditary. There's a name for it, but I forget what it is. My mom has the same thing and so does my grandma. They've learned to deal with it better than I have. There are medicines for it, but since I got addicted to one of them, I stopped taking them. Now I have another addiction to mint flavored gum. Not sure how I got into that but it has a sort of placebo effect on me.
On top of that, I have carpal tunnel that I think I need surgery for, but I can't afford it, so I have to deal with that too. That's not something I worry too much about though.
::I'm not a Doctor Disclaimer, I just watch one on TV, he seems rather good!::
There are probably foods out there that can help ease your issues, not to say that they'd be as effective in dealing with the pain, but they might help ease it, try and find out the name if you can, I also go onto a nother forum which has quite a few nurses on it, and maybe they can suggest something that can help, aside from drugs.
Yeah, I stay away from most dairy since I'm also lactose intolerant, and I eat a lot of grains and oats to keep my digestion smooth. When I was little, I had a blockage in my intestine that caused me to stop eating and drop a lot of weight so I have to make sure it doesn't happen again.
A link to that forum would be cool, Rayven.

I'll PM it to you.
Also, I've heard that Ginger can be a good aid to digestion issues, so you could try eating some, or possibly better, making your own Ginger Tea infusions ( http://altmedicine.about.com/cs/3/a/Ginger_Tea.htm ) that way then, you get the goodness of it without something solid to digest (liquids are much easier to digest than solids)
I've been staring at this page for like 15 minutes and I still don't know dutch, how do I fix it?
I'm proud of you Facepunch, I really want to help.
I think I'll sell Dragon Age: Origins for you
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]

TLotR:The Return of the King
TC's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear (Platinum)
Bioshock & TES:IV:Oblivion bundle (Hated them both)
I'll get them up tomorrow

Unless you want them directly Raven, which I don't mind.
Nah, played them all already, so you might as well sell them and donate.

Rayven, you have been one of my favourite members on Facepunch for a long time. I've seen your join date of -04 and been thinking for my self, "please don't leave". I don't think anyone had an idea you suffered this badly until you posted the thread. Shows that you don't know much about the person behind the avatar.
I'm still figuring out how to make it English. If not, I'll make a guide.

Could someone try this for me?
If you go to the donation page, you'll see this:

In the top right corner, it should say "Nederlands". Click on it and it should give you the option "English"

It's really bizarre to me coming from the UK that people actually have to pay for surgery like that.
