ok thanks
Time helps. I watched horror movies when I was younger and they freaked me out (and probably had long term effects but meh). I had trouble sleeping for a time, etc. but nowadays I never have nightmares. I don't remember the last time I had one.
OP, slenderman here is nothing. someone could make videos with slenderman so much more disturbing, you could be 'cowering in the corner' paranoid, rather than 'looking over your shoulder'.
the max headroom thing, though, that's different.
Okay TLDR: Read it.
Is the idea that at the end he never came back out to finish the journal?
The worst thing is, when i was watching the max headroom thing, right as i was watching in my dad decided to burst in my room and scream and try to scare me, and he did it right as max came on :C
OP, The soloution for you to get over your fear is to Read This all the way to the end.
I read it all, is there an FP thread on it you can link me to?

Guy crawls into cave. It is a small cave. He is afraid of the dark. Hears noises. Finds nothing, and is physically hurt during his adventure.
There.

[sp]Two guys go into a cave, really slowly dig out this narrow passage. They hear weird scraping noises like a rock being dragged and later on a human type scream. One guy goes down and sees a weird hyroglyphic and a round rock. Then they find another skinnier guy called joe who agrees to go down with the first guy but the first guy gets injured and has to go back. When Joe returns he has had some traumatic experience that he doesn't want to talk about. Later on the first two guys return and the first guy who went in goes in again, hears the scraping from behind and his light goes out for a while. When he finally gets a new light on the rock has moved to reveal a hole in the ground linking to a tunnel. He tries to gtfo of the tunnel and hears the scraping again as though the thing is coming back for him. When he finally climbs out on the rope the rope goes taught as thoguh something behind him is climbing, his friend cuts the rope and they escape.[/sp]
Mine is more detailed.
Oh and the guy who visits the tunnel gets all these cuts and bruises and a few weeks after the incident he is still paranoid and has some trauma, so he decides to meet joe and they both return to the cave to resolve things [sp]the text ends here so it seems neither of them ever return[/sp]
Lock yourself in a pitch black room with absolutely no source of light. That's how I purged my fear of darkness.

Thank you sir. Ima call fake and gay (story).
Sometimes being paronoid can be to you advantage, it keeps you on your toes and your always prepaired for something to happen trusting and thinking everything is something. I used to be a little paronoid of everything but I have gotten it under control, when you see something or feel some is there/ behind you check, see that most likely it's not there, identafy the area behind you and take note of what is behind you ex a stack of clothes and next time you have that paronoid feeling just remember that it is just your pile of old jeans.
This isn't really a good solution but atleast it is a serious answer

It seems so easy to make up, if it were real life you know it would be because real life is better than fiction.
It's really unnecesarily long just to make it seem more realistic, as though putting in loads of detail about them digging out a tiny tunnel painfully slowly will make the story more reliable.
I now have to sleep with some form of a light on whether it be the T.V. or the light itself
You sleep with your T.V. still turned on?

Get out of the Internet,
It'll do you more than good.
Slender man? I'm about to check out that thread right now. I'll let you know if I end up like you. I hope to god that I don't.
Thank you sir. Ima call fake and gay (story).
Just because its fake doesn't mean it isn't scary.
Look at horror movies.
Slender man thing happend to me.
But when i get scared off things it stops after a week or less.
Porn always helps.
eh, not too spooked about it.
:sigh: Im not whimpering in the corner, crying saying their gonna come get me and writing on the walls "everythingisalie" or "they'reherethey'reherethey'rehere"
Im just saying the internet has made me paranoid, how do i become...Un-paranoid?
There's a difference between paranoia and irrational fears.
What you described is more likely to be irrational fears.
Check carbon monoxide levels where you sleep and places you frequent. Sometimes they can make you paranoid.w
How would I check carbon monoxide levels?
[editline]01:12PM[/editline]
I've been having trouble sleeping for a while. (But it has little to do with the internet)
(At least, not the "internet" internet)

This will cure you
How old are you kid? When I was 6, I used to be terrified of skeletons. Now they are nothing to me. Slenderman is nothing to be afraid of. The person who you should be afraid of is the guy stealing your identity.
I've heard that slender man is a tall thing that abducts kids.
Anyone care to tell me more?
