So it's like a bulletproof vest; you don't get killed by the bullet, but the shock may have a significant impact.
So it's like a bulletproof vest; you don't get killed by the bullet, but the shock may have a significant impact.
It's like a much harder to penetrate but much less rigid bulletproof vest. It'll take more force to penetrate, but any and all force applied will give a hell of a lot more shock than a vest. Bulletproof vests, even without plates in them, are still somewhat firm and rigid, which aids in spreading the force of the hit out. Anything resembling a suit jacket would have to give that up. So yeah, a bulletproof suit might stop a bullet from damaging a dummy, but it sure as hell will fuck up a soft target. [editline]27th March 2012[/editline] For comparison, imagine someone hitting you as hard as humanly possible in the gut with a thumb-thickness wooden stick's end. Won't pierce the skin, but will fuck you right up just by the blunt force.
However, chances are that if it hits a part where penetration would damage the lungs, heart or other vital organs, the force will instead hit the bone and muscle, causing bruising and potentially fractures but still saving your life.

Still better than the near-TPKs that seem to happen to every MTF on every mission :v:
So I've been thinking of the whole "Holder" series lately, it being relatively similar to SCP in structure albeit with more repetition and much lower quality, and I was quite pleased when I came across this just now: http://www.scp-wiki.net/dargaia-s-nectar
I always imagined Agents as ridiculously badass guys that generally dress like this(for combat, obviously) or like this or even, for the more badass squads(such as an extraterrestrial planet surface operations team, for when an SCP leads to another planet or the foundation is hunting something on Mars),stuff like this Nah, too tacti-c00l. That would draw a metric shit-tonne of attention. Imagine it, this bloke walks into an apartment building full of [Insert Keter-uber-death-monsters] and suddenly the whole city block is in need of Class-A amnesiacs. The Foundation would just say "screw that" and firebomb the whole place, call it a terrorist attack. I think some guy in a suave coat claiming to be FBI would be much easier and less resource heavy.
So I start up Gmod for the first time in while, and check out the toybox. I go to the entities section, and see none other than SCP-173. I download him, and wait for him to spawn. The model was kinda good actually, and I decided to test it out. I turned away, and obviously I ended up dead. When I spawned though, it killed me again. Luckily next time I spawned, I was facing it. I walked to the other side of the map, turned around, and turn back to face the SCP. It was really really close to me, its face took up half my screen. I almost shat myself and decided that was enough Gmod for today
Is it using the same script as the garden gnome/companion cube/weeping angel?
Oh god.
Upon reaching a zone of sufficient hydrogen sulfide concentration, SCP-1104 projects appendages into the host's prefrontal cortex, causing unconsciousness during which SCP-1104 exits the host via the ocular cavity.
It's like a headcrab, but it's inside you and it wants to leave!
Is it using the same script as the garden gnome/companion cube/weeping angel?
Yeah, I think the one SCP uses is a bit better though. The SCP moves around more than the weeping angel does
Ive figured out how to terminate 173, since hes probably some sort of sexless thing, we get 50 women d-class to rub up against him naked and oily. So eventually he has to figure out that this is hot a cum, BUT since he has no penis of any visible kind he will blow up. So keep this as a backup plan if it ever gets loose. The end

Up until the wonderful moment when they all are looking away and he kills all of them in the blink of an eye
Good luck getting 50 people to do that, it would probably take the SCP 5 seconds to kill them all.

Hope I'm not late, dedicating this one to Zenpod oh god they managed to make the 173 image even creepier
By making it a death metal album?
Literally everything that could've gone wrong did go wrong. It managed to go from terminating a safe/euclid class SCP to simultaneous containment failures of both 682 and 173.
Oh my god He's Doctor Who
The way I figure it is agents would dress differently depending on what they're doing. For ordinary everyday patrol like stuff I'd think civilian clothes and sunglasses with a concealed weapon. For things like the experiments conducted on 342 they'd be dressed as local law enforcement. For 899 and that red lake they'd probably look like park rangers, for something like 097 and 610 they'd probably be dressed as military personnel. Then MTFs Xi-13, Omicron-9, and Delta-5 would probably look like special forces teams. O-23 would probably wear mostly labcoats since the people who tend to be incapable of dying are usually researchers and scientists.
SCP-173 is not a big deal in that he's easily contained.
Oh my god He's Doctor Who
The Doctor, not Doctor Who.

It snaps peoples necks with its dick :v:

The Factory and Recovered from the Marianas Trench remain my favorite pages on that entire site
Ive figured out how to terminate 173, since hes probably some sort of sexless thing, we get 50 women d-class to rub up against him naked and oily. What people don't seem to understand is that it's not that they can't terminate 173 (if I'm not mistaken at least, I remember one of the SCP admins saying this at some point I think) because all you would really need are a few witnesses and a hammer. They just don't terminate it because it's pointless, or for science, or some other such crap. I mean hey, where else are they gonna send all the "demoted to Keter duty" fuckups?

Why don't they just destroy/kill it? Well, for starters, if you've read our logo, you know SCP stands for Secure, Contain, Protect, not Destroy, Destroy, Destroy. That said, if we destroyed everything, we wouldn't have much of a site, would we? In character… suspension of disbelief. Make something up, if it's good, it might be used.
