I come barring a peace offering in the form of some OC in the hopes that I can be accepted into the FP SCP community

I could see a SCP game done in the style of half-life. At the beginning, it's like a normal day at work as a scientist or guard or something there. Then suddenly theres like a SCP breach. Instead of having recurring enemies, you have different all the time.

Me and a buddy were thinking about doing an experimental source test close to this. You view a quick scene of a few SCP's being used including a brief glance at SCP-173 (one of my least favorite) and a glance at SCP-447 being used momentary. I am sure I could model and set it up but I doubt he could stay with the map building enough to finish it. I still want to do a SCP-447 animation but that is completely separate from source sadly.
Although 173 is not Keter.
I couldn't think of any other humanoid keter SCPs at the time. :v:

You could replace the HECU with some dudes from the GOC or whatever, to fill in the action side of it. And the rest of the enemies could be hostile SCPs, which you'd have to evade or, in the case of a select few, fight.
Running into a section of the facility infested with an outbreak of SCP-610 would be brilliantly scary, but it wouldn't be a matter of cowering in the corner like most horror games opt for these days because they can - at least as far as the player would be concerned - be shot enough that they'd stop attacking.
I think this is a triple-A idea for a Source mod you've got here.
I want someone to make a level/087-like-game with that rusty sunken ship
It sounds like a ton of fun

And then we need a squad mate in it who says "Sweet Dapper Jesus of the Gentleman's club!" like in the logs.

I'll be needing a link to that.
I could see an SCP mod of Half-Life working extremely well.
Of course it would but I bet theres no team who could decide what to put in.

Put everything in.
Every single SCP.

It'd be fucking creepy to have a dark room in that SCP sourcemod named "455 surveillance" and having a little radio that played snippets from the logs.

Nightmare House 2 did something similar, didn't it? Your subtitles would just randomly get spammed with creepy shit and it would never be explained why.
I could do some of the mapping for this HL2 mod, I actually made SCP-173's containment chamber once.

also, we totally need to include a reference to that time an entire Task Force almost got killed by infinitely spawning amounts of pasta

"Some farfalle cut him to death, fuck if I know!"

I am totally up for it if I had a good mapper (like you) on the scene. I can model, texture and compile to source but I still fall short in non robotic animations and things like bump maps (which I could easily learn). I am sure with a little work we could make something really cool.
Set up a Dropbox and invite some contributors.
I'll come in and do some mapping for you guys if you want, I've been lacking a project to do for a while now.
Make a thread in "Valve games and mods", maybe more people will join.
If you want an example for me to map, I'll happily do it.
You could have the guards get crazy and write shit over the walls in reaction to whats happening. Kind of like Ratman. You would have official arrows which were there before the breach while the scrobbles on walls would advice you not to follow those and go in the other direction.
You could also have like many scrobbles so it seems like its made by more people. When in reality its only one man who has gone insane and has multiple personalities which comes trough as his emotions.

That's not a word!

Most of the staff spend their time drinking coffee a room away from Cthulhu (or maybe even God himself), so I don't think you'd be liable to get anybody flipping out and writing on the walls. If it were done by totally sane and normal people like the writings you see in L4D, just to warn you or give useful information, then it'd make a bit more sense.

We should do this as soon as we have some content. I'd do something, but at the most I could make a promotional image or two once we have some models.
I really think this can go well but I don't think it should expand into to huge of a 'team'. As It stands I think 2 modelrs and two map makers are good for what we are trying to achive. When we do start makeing stuff which I feel is pretty soon I am sure we will keep you guys updated.
This one is pretty cool.
I'm up for some minor prop/texture work and mapping, I'm pretty okay and I've been wanting to polish my skills (also I don't have a portfolio or any decent previous work to show so you'll just have to take my word)

Not until you have a set team and at least a map or some anims to show
You could theoretically go recruit in Programming but if you did that you'd probably notice soon enough that half the people are incompetent and the rest either don't have time or can't be arsed to actually work on the project, especially not the parts that are actually integral.
[editline]5th May 2012[/editline]
Although frankly that might be mostly because it seems that the competent, productive programmers tend to be working on their own projects instead.
The only way you can recruit people on FP is when you have enough content to not look like an ideas guy
at the moment we have SCP-173's fullbright box and a ton of ideas
Okay I've known about the SCP for a long while, but I've only recently read through a few things and Jesus Christ, this is actually pretty creepy shit sometimes. I remember when I used to think SCP was real.
There was no such thing as sleep.

I wanted to pull an all nighter a few weeks ago and re-reading that "Sleep Eater" SCP did the trick
Sleep Completely Prevented.
