Too bad? So you mean you want to be murdered to death by Mr Struts on steroids?
Too bad? So you mean you want to be murdered to death by Mr Struts on steroids?
He's saying "too bad" because the way swampie acted made it sound like he wanted all of us to become SCP-096-1 (the victim).
I'm kind of new to SCP but I have been reading a lot recently and they are fantastic. A lot of them creep me the fuck out, but mostly the more subtle ones like SCP 026. It can't rip your head off if you turn your back for a second but imagining yourself inside of it is really scary. Most of them are really creative and introduce a lot of weird concepts.
whatever happened to that SCP: Source mod some people were making? is that still ongoing?
whatever happened to that SCP: Source mod some people were making? is that still ongoing?
Yes it is, we do NOT want to be another no-show group like so many mods before. It is going to be a long time until we release something publicly but it is only for the best and so we don't end up disappointing the community we hope to impress.
I still think we should try putting a D-Class on the Moon or Mars or something and give them a photo of 096. Or if we seal the D-Class inside an alternate dimension or something.
They showed two fullbright rooms so i doubt it
Read Quinn's post above.
Read Quinn's post above.
I am fairly sure he was talking about SCP-096, not me.
He said 'fullbright rooms' which I can only assume refers to the screenshots of the map you guys worked on, considering the other post about 096 said nothing about those.
They showed two fullbright rooms so i doubt it
actually I remember Quinn posted a short walkthrough to an SCP containment chamber in the Containment Breach thread that was actually really quite atmospheric, as well as another short video set in the maintenance areas
so yeah

That wasn't me, most likely Sir or Geo. Keep in mind this is an active thing, we just don't want to be idiots about it and create pages like 'SCP SOURCE IN WORK, LOOKING FOR DEVS'. We are all competent dudes, it just depends on how it all works out.

I'm still relatively new to the whole SCP scene, only occasionally reading things that seem interesting. Who might Dr. Gerald be?

prepare your sides
I'm kinda tempted to start learning how to write an SCP, so I can write one about the urge that makes you check a refrigerator for food even though you just looked inside 2 minutes ago and there was nothing.
Also, how is the scary-faced barrel coming along? I want to see that become official.

There's so much TVTropes shit on there, I'm surprised there hasn't been one named Fridge Logic yet.
nah they did that before and it still survived. it would have made sense if it just turned itself blind because it figured "if they're showing me a picture it's probably to try and kill me" and survived like that, but instead 096 beat the shit out of it and was about to kill it before giving up for... reasons, I guess.

Lol no.
Termination Test Record:
Containment tank containing SCP-096 was placed in SCP-682's cell. Personnel vacated vicinity and the tank was opened remotely.
Screams of the two entities continue for twenty-seven (27) hours, at which point the noise abruptly stops. Sonar-based video feeds reveal SCP-096 severely "wounded" and huddled in the southwest corner, apparently upset. Feed shows SCP-682 on the north end of the room, approximately 85% of its initial mass absent. Re-containment teams retrieve both entities with relative ease.
Further attempts to expose SCP-096 to SCP-682 cause it to turn away from 682, jumping in place while clawing at its face and screaming.
Item #: SCP-1257

Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: [del]SCP-1257 is to be kept at a locked display case in Site ██, with a level 2 personnel watching over it at all times.[/del]
Revision: SCP-1257 is to be kept inside a secure sealed room in Site 28 with incinerators trained on the object, watched by at least two level 2 personnel and 5 D-Class personnel armed with handheld incinerators at all times. As SCP-1257 has not been known to show any anomalous properties while in view from surveillance measures as security cameras, constant, non-interrupted surveillance of SCP-1257 has been issued. Further research requires O-5 approval.
Description: Records indicate that this company has been abolished in 1890, no other information on the company exists otherwise.
The illustration of SCP-1257 however has been know to alter drastically from individual to individual, however the conversion process has never been seen, as the conversion process is almost instantaneous and will only occur when not in visual contact. Each illustration is fully animated, however the animations stop as soon as a recording device is trained on SCP-1257.
Some of the most prevalent appearances of SCP-1257 include:
*Abstract shapes of varying properties
*A dark wooded area
*A small, dimly lit hallway extending to an unknown distance
* A view underwater
*Smoking ruins of a house
*A smiling old woman sitting on a rocking chair
All of these have common psychological impacts on their subjects, which subjects usually show signs of discomfort, anxiety and nausea and ask to be removed from the painting. If held longer than around 30 minutes of viewing the painting, paranoia, dementia and suicidal tendencies may occur upon the subject, who often attempt to remove themselves from SCP-1257 by force and termination of these subjects is often necessary.
All of these scenes appear to work against the phobias of the subjects, as for example, a D-class with claustrophobia will be met with the infinite hallway, and the longer they are subjected to it, a feeling of being 'sucked in' was reported by the subject, and signs of vertigo was seen in the subject before his removal from SCP-1257. Also, a recurring and prevalent being has been seen in almost all the subjects, commonly appearing as a large spider, wolf, humanoid figure which seem to reflect the phobias of each subject as well. This being will be henceforth referred to as SCP-1257-1, and the significance of it's appearance is unknown.
SCP-1257 has also been seen to be 'infecting' other paintings in Site ██ although no negative symptoms arise from viewing these subsidiary images, thus these secondary paintings have been deemed safe. These paintings have been observed to be simply being animated, however SCP-1257-1 has been seen from time to time.
SCP-1257 was brought to the foundation's attention when locals from a village in ████████, Germany reported a haunted painting in an abandoned factory. An agent in the area alerted the foundation after a low level police investigation was launched following the locals suffering from dementia and psychosis. Class A amnesiacs were issued to everyone involved and the painting has since moved to Site ██. The factory however, has been found out as to having been owned by a dummy corporation with no other records of its use.
Addendum: SCP-1257 has now been moved to Site 28. I'm henceforth issuing a no painting, photographs policy on Site 28 as of its arrival. -Dr ██████

Started to draft the SCP idea, gotta do the experiments now. The strike through will be explained later.

Oops forgot to mention it can 'infect' other paintings.
Lol no.
well if anything that's even more stupid. if 096 can run through ANYTHING, across entire continents, and at high speeds at that, why the fuck would it care if it got hit by a load of claws, or bit by powerful jaws? unless 682 is literally better than every other material on the planet - most likely in the entire solar system at that - and it can swing faster than a creature that regularly crosses the globe on foot can run, it ain't gonna do jack. and, apparently, not only did 682 scare what basically amounts to an oddly-programmed robot to the point of tears, but it apparently also gave it PTSD.
it's just very silly and implausible.
682 is the best lizerd ever do not question the best lizerd he is stronger than everything and he can adapt to anything

Ice cream introduced to 682 in the hopes of giving him a brain freeze.
682 grew a heating unit in his skull, ate several tonnes of ice cream.
682's codename has been official changed to "Fat asshole who ate all the ice cream"
682 is like that one douchebag who would always ruin your childhood games by making up shit that made him unbeatable.
