How about having him be a vagabond who can't remember more than two years ago, and has a huge scar on his back in the shape of the Symbol of Asclepius (a stick with a snake wrapped around it)? Make him be cripplingly terrified of medical equipment as well. Also, at one point have him get x-rayed, revealing a strange, long organ wrapped around his spinal column in a similar way. He also has bumps on his back because of this.
I was thinking more religious, like a modern prophet who was captured before he could spread his word. A street-priest who showed his miracles to random people before being captured by Foundation agents.
I don't think he needs a backstory. I think the idea is neat and stands on its own. (The organ or some other tangible explanation for the anomaly leaves lots of room for testing if you want to put that in.)
Like I said though "Just some guy we found with powers" has been done to death and undeath and redeath and post-death.
Like I said though "Just some guy we found with powers" has been done to death and undeath and redeath and post-death.
There are over a thousand fucking SCPs EVERYTHING has been done to death.
There are over a thousand fucking SCPs EVERYTHING has been done to death.
I'll tell you one thing that hasn't been done: an SCP item that can kill 682.
SCP-999 is so adorable! <3 I wish I had one to help with my current life. Just snuggling me and make me feel optimistic... Edit: And then SCP-999 cloned himself 14 times.
I'll tell you one thing that hasn't been done: an SCP item that can kill 682.
The soda machine that dispenses any liquid actually can; however the liquid that it produces when you put in "a substance that can kill SCP 682" is so dangerous that they haven't even tried to use it that way since they first tried it and vaporized everything within a huge radius. It seems they've removed that from the wiki though.
I wish I had one to help with my current life. Just snuggling me and make me feel optimistic...
I can do that! :v:
http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1795 http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1918 These are really... thought-provoking.
"My masters. Oh my masters. We are coming home." that was such a great line oh my god
I made a new SCP SCP-1613 "The Spoken Fool" http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1613
I had another idea, for a keter-class SCP. It's a small triangular pyramid, about a foot and a half wide, found at the north pole, with a straight blue line of light going straight upwards. Anything that passes through the light line gets sliced in half at the atomic level, and both halves separate from each other at high velocity depending on the speed at which they pass through it, regardless of their weight. The blue light is caused by air molecules passing through the line being split and giving off energy (if anyone here is a chemist, feel free to change that to whatever color would actually be given off by such a reaction). A 200 foot wide panel is immediately built around the object to prevent it from falling over; a rocket with sensors is launched and confirms that the splitting effect goes on far off into space. If the SCP were to fall over, it could cut the earth itself in half. The foundation is worried that, as we come out of the ice age and the north polar ice caps melt, it will become increasingly difficult to ensure that the SCP is kept upright at all times. The SCP must remain at the north pole, as its effect on a planet, or even the sun, if its beam ever intersects it could be devastating. Thoughts?
Build a telescope at the site and use it to destroy instances of SCP-1795.
use it to kill 682 also I thought SCPs were only designated keter-class if they were actively seeking to kill people/destroy the world?
SCP has it's own game (sort of) Dev blog etc here: http://scpcb.wordpress.com/ Show your support! Introduction: Greetings new personnel, you may not realize it yet, nor may you be consenting to it, but you have just been recruited by the SCP Foundation, clicking on the link to this thread voids your right to a lawyer, access to your family and friends, and your right to a sane remainder of your life. The SCP Foundation has a long and obscure history, that isn't really privy to new recruits, but just know this: it's been around since before you were here, and unless something goes horribly wrong, it will outlive you. Our role in this world is simple, and to remind you of it, it is the very acronym from which our foundation gains it's name: Secure. Contain. Protect. Just what are we securing, containing and protecting? Frankly, we have no idea, and that is what makes our job so vital, we find objects, artifacts, creatures, "people" that the world isn't ready for. We stop them from doing harm to themselves, and the majority of the world by containing them in several highly secure facilities. Finally, we make it our job to ensure no third party gains access to these "SCPs", and to make sure they can do no harm to the majority of the modern world. Secondary to these objectives is our goal to research all these anomalies, to figure out how they work, in some cases to destroy them, in others, to understand them so that the knowledge can be used to improve society, protect the world, or help the goals of the foundation. Good luck new agents, I hope you all lead fruitful lives in the service of the foundation. Object Class: Thread Containment Procedures: This thread is to be contained within the General Discussion section of the Facepunch forum. All readers of the topic should be immediately located and brought into Foundation custody for new recruit training. Description: The SCP Wiki is a huge collaborative project from hundreds of different creepypasta authors, it details a SHITLOAD of creepy, powerful and usually highly misunderstood artifacts in the care of a rich, secretive foundation with ties to pretty much all world governments. The "Foundation" is basically a huge group of scientists, military agents and high level supervisors who are charged with Securing, Containing and Protecting the aforementioned artifacts, often with catastrophic results, nonetheless they press on with a seemingly unlimited budget and stream of "Class-D" test subjects who are thrown into the grinder daily. The main feature of this website is the individual entries for over 1000 different artifacts, ranging from a biological MP5, to a real life weeping angel, to a painting which when reproduced correctly creatures a giant wormhole, to a startling variety of terrifying parasites. Basically, if you've ever thought of something scary, or had a nightmare with something horrific in it, the foundation has tagged it, bagged it and fed 10-100 criminals to it, to see what happens. SCP Highlights: http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-610 "The Flesh That Hates" A rather disturbing mass of flesh that spans a large area in the Ukraine. It actively attacks and transforms other lifeforms (particularly humans) into more of itself and fills the countryside. It is basically indestructible, highly aggressive and is spread incredibly deep underground. http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-763 "Human Beowulf Cluster" A giant cluster of human flesh that is alive and sentient. It absorbs more human specimens. Pretty creepy, not as weird as 610 though. http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-874 "Abyssal Fluid" A one way portal to a seemingly infinite space with no gravity. It's nigh impossible to pull something back through once it has gone through. Apparently there is stuff living in here that eats your limbs too if you leave it in there too long. http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-115 "Miniature Dump Truck" A dump truck with the same physics as a full sized dump truck. Has caused significant damage on multiple occasions, otherwise seems to be perfectly normal. http://www.scp-wiki.net/ Addendum: Don't think about adding to the website unless you make yourself a member of their community, they're pretty strict and have a tendency to be assholes at times. Nonetheless, the website is pretty awesome and the fact that it's continually growing make it fascinating. Don't go here if you have work to do, as in cases reported for SCP-1062 "TvTropes" and to a lesser extent SCP-1066 "Wikipedia", the SCP-Wiki itself has been known to cause a memetic effect labelled "Tab Explosion" which may cause loss of sleep, poor work habits and obsessive behavior. Addendum 2: Facepunch members have become more active in the community, several articles have been officially published. AWESOME. WORK! Here's a list of them (there's more all the time though!) http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1507 Living Pink Flamingos, tacky and also with a taste for blood.
use it to kill 682 also I thought SCPs were only designated keter-class if they were actively seeking to kill people/destroy the world?
I think an SCP that could destroy the world just by falling over would be classified as Keter class. I could be wrong though.
I've got an idea. An astral projection telescope. I got the idea when reading that SCP about the giant organic heart-things in space that go into orbits of solar systems and make planets specifically for humans. The idea is that, if you look through it, you can see anything in the direction that it's looking at, going at an extremely large distance. If the telescope was pointing in the direction of one of those heart things, you could astrally project yourself there and look at it in great detail. But, as long as you're 'projecting' yourself through the telescope your body is in a coma-like state, and will only come out if you return to it. If you are removed involuntarily, your mind and body stay split or something.

Doesn't matter how dangerous it is, if you can put it in a locked room safely and not have to worry about it then it's safe. I would think that it would be safe, as long as they're able to effectively contain it.
Ya not weird at all!
For future reference, don't quote the original post in a thread and try not to post shit that doesn't further the discussion.

The beam would persist through any material they tried to store the pyramid in. There'd probably have to be constant on-site monitoring to make sure that the ice that it's stored on doesn't melt and cause it to fall over.
I made another new SCP SCP-1423 "Summer of '76" http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1423 The third SCP in my "Year of '76" series.(The other two being SCP-1833 and SCP-332)

Something else also struck me: how bad would it really be if the Earth was cleaved in two by a laser that cuts on the atomic level? It wouldn't fly apart or anything. Certainly, structures and people located along the path of the laser would be damaged, but the damage to the planet itself wouldn't be as bad as it sounds. The core, I'm sure, is probably hot enough to fuse itself back together, and the mantle would likely do the same, being liquid and all that. The crust might experience some problems, like the release of volcanic gases, earthquakes, or maybethe creation of new fault lines, but I don't think so. Edit: I missed the part about stuff flying apart at high velocity, but still, wouldn't the mass of the earth around the cut kind of nullify that? And even if the two halves were pushed apart, wouldn't gravity still take effect and pull the two halves back together?

I made video's for every SCP's that are currently in the game of Containment Breach, I thought some might be interested. Here's the link to the playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6yc8kG9E0vbiCzHsUAuLkVXyMyC7dgBd
Anyone know any really good tales or incident reports? I read Game Day, The Thing That Hates, War of The Doctors. But that's pretty much it.

Duke 'till dawn, though, is kind of... Heh.
Duke 'till dawn, though, is kind of... Heh.
It's over-the-top, but it is well written and uses some kind of absurd humor, as it is a parody of the foundation overall. I'd sort of recommend "the world from a different angle", but the plot twist is kind of... meh.
There are a few things in David Wongs books (John dies at the end and this book is full of spiders) that would make good SCPs. I remember things like a gun that turns the target into whatever the user happens to be thinking of, a hand made of cockroaches, a sentient drug and a tickle-me-Elmo that automatically yells out the penis size of anyone who comes close to it.
