For everyone complaining about SCP-682 and how it was probably written by a 6-year-old, it was written by Dr. Gears. He's like ~35 years old and is the founder of SCP. He's written 41 of the best SCPs, including my personal favorite, SCP-455. Gears didn't mean for 682 to be like it is. You have to realize that once the article is up, a lot of the "test logs" and such are written by other writers who want to contribute to an iconic article. You really think someone wrote 50+ test logs for SCP-914 (which was also written by Gears)?
omg ur a genyus
nobody's thought about that before, which is odd since black holes are dime a dozen and we totally have the capability to reach one
This is a good point.
Then again, you could always ask the coffee machine for a cup of black hole.

In other news, look what arrived today!

Lol epic fanboy.
Seriously, the main article isn't necessarily the problem. It's just the fact that the whole creature is rather boring and unappealing. I see no tension or fear or any emotion other then anger, as it seems overblown. It just seems like he wanted to make the best SCP ever so he could go flaunt it about.
Here's a hint Gears, it's not cool. SCP-682 is broing and the idea of an unkillable lizard just doesn't sit well on the tongue.

I like the idea of a completely evil, inhuman monster. 682 is a great idea, but the fact that he's unrealistically unkillable is annoying. Making him hard as all hell to kill is okay, but making the thing invincible to the point where vaporization doesn't even stop it makes him annoying.

I never said I liked 618, in fact, I don't. But Gears isn't just some nobody who decided to make a shit article, it just happened that way. 618 is a remnant from the "Old Foundation" anyway.

First of all, I never meant that it definitely was written by a six-year-old, I just meant it read a lot like that.
As for Arachnidus, I say that it really is annoying having him be invincible. Yeah, he should've just been made really fucking hard to kill, but invincible is pushing it.
Dr. Bright is no longer within his own body. His "soul" was transferred into a pendant (forgot the SCP number) and he can now reside in any body it comes in contact with.
It's not limited to human bodies

Personally, there's one bit I find fairly entertaining about 682: Going into the "discussion" logs about it and checking out the termination proposals that didn't make the cut. Even with everything and the kitchen sink being thrown at 682 in hopes that something will eventually stick, occasionally concepts are brought up that even the most suicidal scientists realize are bad ideas right off the bat.
The one I recall off the top of my head is someone proposing to basically duct-tape or feed SCP-507 to 682. 507 is some dude who uncontrollably ping-pongs between "our" world and a variety of alternate worlds, and can bring other things along for the ride if he's in contact with them at the exact right time. The idea is kind of okay if you don't think about it too hard: If 682 is off in some reality other than ours, then we don't have to worry about him. But 507 always comes back after a while, shows up in an area differing from his original location if he moved any in the other dimension, and doesn't actually need to be alive for his body to trigger the effect.
So then the crazy Godzilla-Wolverine hybrid would essentially be a planeswalker. Congratulations.

Has anyone brought up the Sands of Tule yet? That's a fun one.
other than the guardian, my other 2 favorite spc-001 articles are The Factory and The Path
the factory is another reasonable one but the path one is my favorite for some reason
I have yet to find fanart of 096(found one, but it looks like it was done within 4 minutes)...
Anybody have other fanarts of other scps?

096's description reminds me of the biting demons from Doom.

Dude... Yes, I felt my whole spine shiver.
Imagine that would happen anytime.
Dear Lord.
I just finished reading The Factory. Creeped me out.
So after reading 073 and 076 I decided to do some googling
woah
[editline]30th September 2011[/editline]
The story of Cain and Abel says whoever kills Cain will suffer punishment seven times over, given that 001 is arguably God, does that mean he will move and fuck up everything if Cain is killed?

Woah.
That's pretty...insane
Cain (The SCP) can't be killed through bodily harm. Any injury, given with malicious intent or otherwise, is projected directly onto the person who harmed him. So he can't be murdered.
And the guardian is not God, the only real gods in the SCP universe are a different 001 candidate.

Wait, isn't 303 God? That would mean 001 is Michael or something.

Yeah What did you guys put?....
I put eveyrthing that they would hope for as well..
I just put down "I've been lurking the site for around a year, I'm a decent writer, and I can take criticism well."
I wrote something along the lines of "Dr Shield is known for his dedication to research and creative application of science-fictional theories."
Hmm. Third-person probably didn't help.
Yeah, they don't really like writers roleplaying as SCP personnel anymore. They toyed with that idea near the beginning, but since it basically led to everyone having super-special-awesome-author-avatars tromping around it eventually got nixed.
Actually, the coffee machine gathers the closest source of the requested liquid, and delivers that. That was found in the "Cuppa Joe" experiment. So that wouldn't be an "Endless" source of the liquid.
Coffee machine has a massive hole in it. "Something that will kill 682" is called and it is granted, however it is obviously not on earth at all

Yeah, and it got it from the nearest location. So?
I don't think it could get a 'Sentient Orgasm' from anywhere. At all. Like, I'm pretty sure that just doesn't exist.
