Y'know how a lot of the SCPs are dissections of popular cliches and tropes? Well, I've been thinking; you know how when video game protagonists die, they just go back to a point where they didn't die and try again, but with all the things they learnt the last time they died? Has anybody done something like that? Just deconstruct the entire meaning of what it is to be an FPS protagonist, and look at how having an infinite amount of time to perfect one's skills could both be a godsend and a fate worse than death? Hell, if you really wanted to get meta you could imply that there's actually a person playing as this SCP in some alternate dimension and the entire world is just an attempt to fully immerse the player into it - a true RPG, where everything has consequence, with maximum realism, graphics that can't be beat, and the best AI in the universe. It'd be interesting to make the reader question what's real in that way, as well as explaining away why there's loads of batshit insane things in what is supposed to be the real world. But... then, what constitutes the real world? See, that's what I'm getting at. Unless this has all been done, which I have a rising fear it has been.
It has already been done. Over and Over again.
Able.
Ehhh, kind of. He does have all those tropes and shit, but that's only when you actually look at him from a different angle. I want people to have a different kind of fear, that trivializes others by a massive scale. I want people to think that they could very well stop existing any second because somebody deemed it so. Who? Why? They will never know. And that's the point of the SCP: just how much we don't - and never will - know. We could be characters in a videogame, we could all be a delusion dreamt by a madman on a feverish night. We know nothing, we can trust nothing. This is the way it is, and it shall be until you are on the doorstep of the great ether, and are perhaps illuminated, or simply are destroyed. It's sort of like a Lovecraftian monster, only taken to the logical conclusion and wrapped up in my favored media form.
You know what would be cool? SCP's that are pretty much embellishments on real life stuff. I don't know, I just think a SCP themed after the USS South Dakota would be awesome. IRL it was literally covered in so many 20mm AA guns so that whenever it got into a battle so much smoke would pour off it that everyone thought it was on fire. The Japanese reported it destroyed more than once, and the Navy gave it the nickname of "Battleship X" so that the Japanese would think it was still sunk. Most decorated WWII battleship, woo. [editline]12th December 2011[/editline] I just like ships. And planes. Disregard this if you don't. [editline]12th December 2011[/editline] Actually the ship was old for scrap, so that could be a p. good cover story.

What's the most dangerous SCP? And what's the most dangerous to humanity SCP? What's the most god-like SCP?
What's the most god-like SCP?
probably god
What's the most dangerous SCP? And what's the most dangerous to humanity SCP? What's the most god-like SCP?
I don't think there is a "most dangerous" SCP. There are plenty which end in XK-End-of-the-world class scenarios, and in those cases I don't see why it matters which one was slightly more deadly then the other if they both fucked humanity over. A specific example I can think of (if not exactly XK class) would be 682. An invincible super adaptable lizard with a chip on its shoulder for humanity? We're fucked if it gets out. But we'd also be fucked if it wasn't for Montauk 110, for that SCP number I forgot. Both are dangerous in their own merits, but I don't think it's fair to consider one more dangerous then the other.
I'd say it would have to be that absolutely huge-ass SCP living in the ocean, so large that containment isn't possible. I forgot what number it was.

Right up there with "Dragon Breaks".
I'd say it would have to be that absolutely huge-ass SCP living in the ocean, so large that containment isn't possible. I forgot what number it was.
I'd actually consider that one relatively safe. A creature with THAT much biomass would probably be incapable of any movement rapid enough to directly harm humanity. If anything it's the microscopic that should be most concerning.
I'm really happy to see that this thread is still active and I've encouraged people from FP to start contributing to the SCP wiki. Good job everyone! If there's any articles on the SCP wiki that are written by FP members I'll be glad to put them in the OP!

Thanks for finally making a thread, though, we needed one.
http://www.scp-wiki.net/the-happy-ending A nice little story about 682.
Anyone want to give me some feedback on the Glass Seismograph? http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/zombiis-test
Anyone want to give me some feedback on the Glass Seismograph? http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/zombiis-test
Needs more interesting logs, the only one of interest is the last one (an obvious hint that a shitload of foundation sites go pop) Maybe reference a couple other SCPs (like that leviathan scp, maybe hint to it doing something)

Nearly always.
I still think it lacks anything that interesting.
What's with all of the articles about these random people/things with "Dr. Wondertainment" tattooed on their legs? Reading the articles, you'd think the people manning Site 19 would start to wonder why these random people are literally showing up on their front doorstep one after another at a place that doesn't publically exist.

(Mr. Lost, Mr. Moon, ect) It's a series made by Dr. Wondertainment. http://www.scp-wiki.net/tales-of-mr-collector

Remus read my SCP pls
no :>
I'm writing my application and I don't know how to start. Any help? I don't want to fuck this up.
"hi my name is w/e and i can write shit good and i can take crit well" like that, essentially
so be like formal or what
I'm pretty sure my application was just: "Hey, my name's Zombii and I've been lurking the site for a few years and was looking to join in order to be order to rate articles, and maybe one day, write one. Thanks!" So you don't really have to be extremely formal, but try not to come off as an idiot, I guess. (Not saying you are one! :v:)
Lol it's all good. Thanks Zombii!
