I'm sorry, but the past has shown that all (maybe not all, but 99%) of school shootings were all kept secret till they happened. They just need to check the server log for the first IP which requested to view that specific page.

Someone just report it to the cops in his area, they will dig it up. Happened to a guy from Estonia all he did was post on random "im gonna beat the chinese guys record" and he posted the name of the school, he was arrested soon after.

Even if he was telling the truth, there's no way in hell they can find out who it was. The Sarah Palin hacker couldn't be traced via 4chan since the thread 404'd, the only reason why he was caught is because the screenshot showed which proxy he had. The proxy owner then assisted with the FBI and found out who did it.
