looks very different to when I used to watch it. My dad used to record it for me to watch in the evenings when I was a kid.

yeah well, i liked the old shows a ton, but if CN would get rid of every other show becides those two and kept some good shows like samurai jack or courage or jonny bravo, that would be the shit. Also i want toonami back
Fuckin' hell. I watch occasionaly, when I bored to tears, but I don't really watch TV other than the news, comedy central, Spike, and VH1 Classic/VH1. I remember Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly dog, Samurai Jack, and fucking Pokemon, and the Powderpuff Girls...OH! Ed, Edd, and Eddy too, that was my whole day right there with a bit of Spongebob/Hey Arnold! thrown in there.
WHAT HAS SCIENCE DONE :argh:
Oddly enough, CN has never been available to any of my television providers, cable or satellite. I've been left out of a real childhood.
the bumpers alone aren't bad, it's the shit shows that follow them.
Cartoon Network started sucking right about the time they started that "Fried Dynamite" shit.
I grew up with it at a pretty good time, I remember it was when they first started doing the advertisements for Ed Edd n' Eddy, then it became its own show. That is still my favorite cartoon (not counting anything from Comedy Central and Adult Swim. I love Ugly Americans!) I remember them doing the Cartoon Fridays with the bad stand-up comedian announcer guy. Shit was bomb. Then they moved on to the Cartoon Cartoon Fridays (Posted above), and I loved that. Kids Next Door came out, which I found ridiculous and funny at the same time. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy became its own show around this time, and that was just great. It was dark and morbid, but it still managed to be random and funny at the same time. Eventually they introduced Foster's and started doing the Cartoon Network Fridays, with the fat guy and the black girl (who quit or sommat, and then another girl replaced her). This was not a bad change, but after this was the downfall of Cartoon Network. After this phase ended, starting with that crappy movie "Out of Jimmy's Head", Cartoon Network hired monkeys that roll dice to determine the direction they should take. Introduced "Fried Dynamite", which ultimately failed. Then they started doing the teen shows, such as 6teen and Total Drama Island (which wasn't that bad), and then they decided to make a live action section to waste their timeslots, and so CN Real was born. With that Destroy Build Destroy piece of shit, Dude What Would Happen, and that fucking Othersiders thing ("OOOH! I HERD NOIZ! ZOMBEE GHOASTS!!!"). They made Chowder and Flapjack (and more recently Adventure Time) in the midst of all this, and it was totally overshadowed by these new changes that were being made. They were okay, I don't like Flapjack that much, but it is WAAAYYY better than the live action and teen crap.
In my opinion, Foster's was the last good show that Cartoon Network made. Chowder is pretty good at times, I like the art style, but it's just not that great. Flapjack reminds me of Spongebob and I just hate it. Haven't watched Adventure Time at all, because I lost all hope for Cartoon Network after CN Real.

Totally forgot to touch the action shows that Cartoon Network did, such as Samurai Jack and Toonami in general.
Toonami was GREAT. I remember they used to do game reviews and all that. When i talk about this, I'm talking about the old Toonami. I didn't watch the new one much because nothing good was on in my opinion. Toonami got me started on anime. I watched DBZ, and like most elementary schoolers, I was hooked and loved it. That was what actually started me on anime (and how it died, really), and it got me liking Gorillaz and Daft Punk when it would play them on Rising Sun (for the short time that they aired that). Samurai Jack was also cool shit, and Megas XLR was raunchy and hilarious (I got bored and watched these over again, and I loved it even more than I did the first time). All of that started me into anime, and I started watching Adult Swim. That got me hooked on FLCL, Wolf's Rain, and Cowboy Bebop (and though I hate to admit it, Inuyasha for a short while). After that, I started torrenting episodes of Bleach, and later Naruto (this was before Toonami and AS were airing these respectively, I was bored of them by the time they did so). I no longer consider myself a weeaboo, even though I do have a soft spot for anime (and I have been known to watch a series when I find a good one).

Adult Swim in it's own channel would be fucking godly
IMHO: Cartoon Network died when Courage the Cowardly Dog ended, along with Ed, Edd, n Eddy and the old Dexter's Lab.
[editline]06:01PM[/editline]
And of course Foster's, which was quite possibly the last great show they ever had.
I also miss Billy and Mandy
I MISS CARTOON CARTOONS.
A lot.
i heard they are brining it back but named Cartoon Cartoon Weekends.
Any thread about Cartoon Network or Nick eventually results in several waves of nostalgia.
I'm nostalgia'ing so hard right now, I'm physically sick.
Cartoon Network tries way too fucking hard to be hip with the kids these days.
Children haven't changed, just the older people.
If you never liked Samurai Jack you should go die right now.
I feel sorry for today's 5 year olds, their childhood is going to be based of this shit.
Didn't this channel show cartoons?

You didn't grow up on Cartoon network though, Was teletoon good back in your childhood? :saddowns:
so uh, why are grown men and teenagers watching kids shows?
so uh, why are grown men and teenagers watching kids shows?
I watch(ed) CN because when I had nothing fun to do on the computer, I would watch TV. Normally, jack shit is on and so I would watch Cartoons, which are enticing with their pretty colors. It just kills the time like no other.
I'm 17 by the way.
I loved it when the CN transitions were all the Cartoon characters living in one town.

TOM2 was the best, that new version sucked.
They're slowly progressing back into the good cartoons stage. Slowly. Adventure Time is amazing.
