It's more a cultural thing than a religious thing.
There are examples of secular families using arranged marriages as a means of business transaction or to simply ensure a close bonds with families of importance.
To an equal extent there are examples of religious families using it to marry them into fellow religious families or again into 'profitable' families.
It's immensely sad and depressing that such a debasement of freedom occurs in the world, but it's not massively different to any other moral quandary that a nation faces.
Damn this girl got balls
Memri TV is a non-profit organization dedicated to translating media, so they're probably pretty good when it comes to correctness.
They're pretty bad at it actually, they're neocons who intentionally mistranslate and manipulate footage in order to fullfill their pro-Israel agenda. I would recommend to anyone interested in this video to do some basic research on MEMRI, it is not the organization it makes itself out to be. The organization has been founded and led by ex-IDF and it has a long controversial history of inaccuracy.
