It's pre alpha. Of course it looks like shit.
Also it's set in 1930s Shanghai, not LA.
Its odd but LA Noire had some of my favorite gunplay in a game even though it wasn't a shooter.
Really? To me it felt terrible and obnoxious. I didn't enjoy the game, it played way too much like a movie and 80% of it was just looking at people making hilariously awkward faces in order to hint me to a painfully obvious answer every time. The gunplay wasn't strong and the only thing I remotely enjoyed was the driving, which was still pretty poor on PC.
Looks like an alpha

thats cause it is
Also the game is set to come out in 2015 so the game is very alpha, not to mention it either doesn't have any funding or just recently got funding again. I forget what I read
I love how they incorporated karate chops into the hand to hand combat.
so it's basically LA Noire: Asian Edition
I see it's just as clunky as the original.
Despite needing some extra work, The Whorient actually looks kinda interesting.

The driving was fucking atrocious, it was almost as bad as Saints Row 2
One of the major things LA noire had going for it was the unique style of motion capture and animation. And correct me if I'm wrong, but that p. much bankrupted the company among other troubles which led to the disbandment of the original team...
Without that level of detail to play into the interrogation and what not, what you have is basically a very poor GTA clone with clunky and very rudimentary cover shooter mechanics.

That's because they're american cars
That's because they're american cars
No, it was atrocious because they handled too well. There was no weight, no heft to the cars. Mafia 2 got old American cars perfect, the ones in LA Noire handle about as well as a Maserati

I rather enjoyed cruising along in my Chrysler Woody, thank you.

Not to mention Brendan McNamara being a bad manager.
