Peeled out today, it was so cool. Turning left on a busy road and it was insane, everyone just kept speeding and you couldn't get out so I decided to just go for it. Slammed the gas down, turned left hard. All you could hear was tires screaming and that nice MURICAN straight 6 makin a ruckus, smoke and my car fishtailing hard. it was awesome.

Happened to me in the rain yesterday. [editline]intergalactic space niggers[/editline] really thermal, we're doing this again.
I drove a honda civic today I chirped the tires because i happened to stop on a paint line that had water on it. :c
Ugh Starting to really want an EG. Jap hinted at me taking the turbo off of the CRX to trade me back I might work a deal with him once he gets his job rolling, since the CRX is all reliable now. Who knows.
oh and i dont think its in limp mode bradbro, after about 20minutes of having the pedal to the floor i managed to pass an explorer that was going 35 in a 40, and the engine revved past 4k so eventful
Anyone have any ideas on making a mid-sized sedan with a CVT enjoyable to drive?. I'm selling this thing as soon as possible for hopefully a 2nd gen RX7. I don't have much use for a mid-sized sedan as a college student. I almost never carry more than a bag of groceries and every once in a while I have a passenger. I'd much rather own something I like and could learn a bit from. Not going to be able to do that until this car is paid off or I can convince my Mom to take it from me though. Edit: On a side note I had to take my car into a bodyshop since my friends Dad backed into it with his G8 and he's going to pay for it :v: . I accidentally left a guitar case which has a rather authentic looking airsoft Ak-74 in it on the rear seat. I use the case to carry my airsoft gun since I don't play enough to justify buying a gun case. I wonder what they'd think if they decide to open the thing...
I never bothered asking but, what is so bad about CVT transmissions?
Anyone have any ideas on making a mid-sized sedan with a CVT enjoyable to drive?
Install a real transmission
I never bothered asking but, what is so bad about CVT transmissions?
That's with overdrive off. With it on I can't pass for shit on the highway, with it off it sounds like a lawnmower and drinks gas. Imagine never shifting. Imagine that even though it keeps you under 3000rpm with a light foot you still only get around 24mpg in town.

I want to buy one of these for my truck but fuck me sideways it's $85. The matching valve covers are also $100+. I looked up buying a roll pan and it's $100 to buy, $100 to ship. When I get a job, heck my lisence too, im going to end up putting so much money into my truck, I can see it now.
One thing I totally love about NFSU2 is the "dyno tuning" I'm pretty good at it :v
Never tried the dyno before, I was yet to be a car nut back then. About NFS, the series went ape shit after Most Wanted and the BMW was the only thing I liked about MW. [editline]14th January 2012[/editline] Also, is that an Eclipse?
It's the Eclipse GSX, yeah. No mods other than a coat of green paint and all the bolt-on performance shit. Then I dyno tweaked. It's pretty hard to get the hang of, if you haven't tuned before or for a long time you'll be lucky to get ~2-3 horsepower and torque out of it. I'm so used to tweaking cars on there that I can get a huge chunk of power/torque out of them easily. There's a 240SX my friend built that I tweaked afterwards and took it from ~460hp to a hair over 500. I like keeping the torque/power curve around 4-5k too. You never really drive in NFS under that kind of RPM anyways.
I remember my days of NFSU2. I nerdgasm'd at the RX-8 and Impreza, but saddened by the lack of Integra and S2000.
I remember NFS: Porsche unlimited for the PSX. Ah, 'twas fun...
You mean Porsche Unleashed.
so, I just realised, AE86s over here in denmark... go for 8k+ USD... what the fuck is up with this?
I remember my days of NFSU2. Also, as far as Honda repping in there, they had the Integra (fourth gen -- Acura RSX) and the EK Si Coupe. I hate both of those. I wish they would have used the '92-'95 Civic Si and 96-2001 GS-R. Much better choices than the RSX/EK combo. Even more well known in the "tuning" community too... I think it was really about what was "big" at the time.
NFS High Stakes and NFS Porsche unleashed I miss those games :(

Hng, my Dad had a 1st gen RX-7. I'd like to go to a rally someday. Too bad there aren't any races in the South-East that I know of.
You mean Porsche Unleashed.
That was my first NFS game. I got it with a hotwheel (or something similar) from a gas station on a road trip. That game even had first person cockpit view.

I drove 100mph for the first time, yesterday night. It was pretty exciting, and made me want to ask this; What is the fastest you guys have ever gone? I know 100mph isn't insanely fast, but it was damn fast to me. Plus the little civic was running out of steam, and i was running out of road.
About 110mph was my fastest while driving, and while being a passenger, the fastest was around 135mph.
Fastest I've driven is around 95 GPS confirmed. Fastest I've been a passenger was probably around 115.
I got the rex up to 110 before backing off, started to get a bit dangerous with all the traffic. Haven't found a long enough, deserted road to test it out on yet. I'd bet it could hit at least 140 but I'm not sure about trying that, it starts to get a bit floaty at 100 or so
90. Down a hill.
90 when passing a line of semi trucks. Felt fine except for the huge amount of road noise.
The bad thing about going very fast with a V6 is the gas consumption, you clearly see the gas gauge go down rapidly.
