Gentlemen, I have coined an idea, is it do-able to buff in some wax onto my windscreen?
After washing and drying, I've read that applying wax to the windscreen can smooth out the unsightly scratches and provide a smoother surface for the wipers.
Would this be a good idea, or could it possibly leave swirl marks, and be sticky? The current wax I use is a turtle wax 'All-in-one' wax. And I do use an electric buffer.
It'll help, but it won't remove all of the scratches completely

I would do a demonstration of what best to do, but my windshield is beyond the point of repair.

Every were on my windshield, think about driving into the sun and all you see is glowing white spot's. Not fun.
Anyone tried the steel wool trick?
Cool i did my first RWD burnout today.
Had to drive my dads truck to the lumberyard, so i stopped in front of a friends house on a side street
and held the brake and revved up the engine
and then tarbo started spooling and then suddenly scroouououououououou
white smoke everywhere, was laffin my ass off.
Wheel spin in a fwd car just isn't the same.

I deal with this every day and I have to agree.
I love my turbo CRX but even a chevette would be more fun to fuck around in.
RWD>FWD
fun factor
my 12v cig plug(s) don't work
im afraid to replace them after hearing stories of people's phones being fried by chargers because their wiring/electronics are done wrong

Do it correctly and you wont have this issue.
Red to red black to black, and a fuse in the middle. Wasn't that so hard?
good.
also lol carbs.
there's no carbs on the one I'm getting.
yay gt-s corolla.
also how soft is the suspension in yours?
apparently americans get softer suspension, drum brakes and some other crap I forgot on the AE86s :v
they're crazy soft, I can bottom them out by jumping on the rear bumper

pitted window?
I can't see shit sunrise / sunset.
I guess that's what it is called. Small holes.
I want a new windshield but I'm afraid of the quote.
I think you can get windshields for around 200$ more or less if you look into it a bit. I think my mom had her windshield replaced for around that. Then it costed her 70$ the next week to get a dent fixed.
And I thought about something, do we have some form of FP:AA Steam group? Would be rad to have some kind of chats evening or stuff :v:
We do. Kinda. Not very large

shit you serious?
i hope mine isn't THAT soft.
So I buffed the windscreen, and it looks fabulous. It has this sharp shine to it, and is quite smooth to the touch.
It hasn't rained for quite a while, but I'll wager water rolls right off of it.

No shocks should bottom out like that, even soft suspension. His are worn out.
My CRX ones were the same except I had stiff ass Skunk2 springs so there was no travel... I put stock shit back in it and it's alright now. The worn ass struts are on my hatch for now :v
I need a Single DIN In-Dash head unit capable of:
Playing MP3s/AAC/WMA off a USB stick/SD card and/or have an auxiliary input for my smartphone.
DAB Radio
(Optional but great extra)External video input for a rear view camera; this obviously means it will need a decent screen

Are there any units in the £150-£280 price range that will do this? Preferably from a decent brand as they tend to offer the wiring harnesses for the steering wheel controls. Single DIN is a MUST I am not chopping my dashboard up.
I'm also not interested in gimmicky "Mega Bass Super subwoofer output booster matrix 2000" crap.
Anyone have any recommendations?
I use the Alpine CDE-121 head unit, it has Aux input, and usb reader. I only have a bunch of usb drives in my car for music. I don't know about DAB Radio tho.
But the Alpine CDE-121, in my opinion, is the best bang for your buck head unit. Got mine on rebate for 100$ + taxes, with 50$ of adapters and stuff to make it fit in my car.
Edit:
I think it doesn't work with European tuning sadly. Damn >:

well, even if it actually is like that, europes AE86s had stiffer suspension.. and who gives a fuck it's not gonna stay on the stock suspension for long anyway... :v:
I also had 120lbs of speaker in the back at the time.

Not saying the euro ones didn't have stiffer suspension, just saying, they should never bottom out like that. That's a sign of too much weight on them/bad struts.
And yeah, 150 lbs of speaker and then a dude jumping on it would probably bottom out some worn struts. New struts probably would still hold though -- spring and all you'd be surprised how hard even some "soft" struts are to push together. Even just regular shock absorbers. That's why most shocks usually come with a plastic tie down, so they can be fitted and then expanded. I've had to try and push shocks together before to get them up in a vheicle because someone cut the ties -- It's a nightmare. Especially for a tiny guy like me. I had to grip the shock with both hands and push against it using my legs, and I just barely got it to go in enough to get it put on. :c

I can max out my suspension on my 88' by either pushing on a side :v:

I was at some garage a few months ago and we had to do it on some special gofast version of a Mercedes station wagon... we ended up just going to mercedes themselves because they were too hard...
also shock absorbers aren't that hard?
I can easily push those together... :v
