doesn't he explain exactly this in the video though?
he did say that the word "sinneslöschen" is poor german and a compound word, and the latter part is true but poor german? it kinda isnt if you ask me. the word can make sense in the right context and isnt grammatically incorrect either unless i mysteriously forgot a chunk of the video
I feel like that NIN video and the PSVR game might have brought this rumor a bit back into the spotlight
it's scary to imagine some dude fucking around could result in such a mess
Now I'm curious if he was actually on to something when the guy said his post was "very specifically worded". Maybe someone can figure something out? Or maybe it's nothing, but it would be neat.
Well the name of the game is polybius, a type of cypher. So it makes sense that the guy very likely behind the myth hid something in the 'very specific wording' of the original posting. With deliberate misspellings and odd sentence structure, there very likely could be some kind of hidden message within the text if applied through a polybius cypher and perhaps something else as well. Sure, the people behind Ahoy couldn't figure it out, but maybe if a bunch of people try and decode it, we could come up with something that could conclusively prove or disprove the myth once and for all.
As always his content is fantastic, really gives insight into what hard work can produce on Youtube.
Watching this again, the music he composed for this is absolutely amazing. The fact I've only noticed this on the second viewing just shows how much work has been put into this.
I also want to applaud the creator because I was only going to watch like 5 minutes to see if it was interesting and I ended up watching it entirely. :v: Very good!
Ahoy has a really weird ability to make videos that do this to people, even back when all he really talked about was the real and fictional history of CoD firearms. There's loads of other channels out there that could get that same information across faster, or more flashily. But Ahoy manages to do it in his own way. A mixture of really good pacing, a solid structure to the exploration of a thing and no-nonsense editing. At least, I think those are the things that make his videos work.
This was really interesting, and a great ahoy video as usual. There was one thing that really bugged me, and that was the constant voice recordings thing. Some of them felt too acted and just didn't feel legitimate, kinda broke the flow of the video for me.
I was just thinking "hm, these guys overact a little" when the goddamn Godron Freeman started talking :v:
I honestly didn't know he did anything other than Freeman's Mind, that's my bad on that one.
Oh, he's been doing a fair amount of Game Dungeon over the years. All manner of weird and obscure games in between his work on a big-time machinima project. What's more, the next Game Dungeon is probably going to come out in a couple of days assuming Ross Time. You could definitely fill up a couple of weekends watching Game Dungeon, but the weirdest one he's done so far is Armed & Delirious, an old graphic adventure game that is the equivalent of cutting a tomato then saying "I spin and I spin, and this is what happens".
it's scary to imagine some dude fucking around could result in such a mess
The power of social engineering, leaning on fickle but strong nostalgia breeds urban legends.
I am surprised to have found myself watching the whole thing. I usually don't watch YouTube videos anywhere close to this length, but this one captivated me.

Really like this man's content, but this seems awfully dumb. Is he going to do a documentary about Slenderman where he asks the question "was he ever real?" And then it's just 2 hours of him saying "noooooooooo"? What could you possibly say about madeup creepypasta shit? PS: sure hope this post isn't going to come back at me

Trent Reznor is a huge nerd isnt he? I remember reading he did the Quake soundtrack because he was super into Doom. PS: sure hope this post isn't going to come back at me
Slenderman is obviously bullshit, but Polybius was within the realm of possibility considering the CIA was outright doing stupid mind control bullshit back in the 60s and 70s, back when intelligence agencies were doing anything from pumping dudes full of LSD to see how if it made them shoot good to the KGB decapitating dogs to make Cerberus cyborgs and both of them researching ESP. Cold War was weird, man.
Was a nerd, he eventually came to hate them too for not being cool enough like him.
Was a nerd, he eventually came to hate them too for not being cool enough like him.
what are you talking about the dudes still into video games and gushes over nintendo shit
what are you talking about the dudes still into video games and gushes over nintendo shit
You're only allowed into the Ron Zertnert nerd club if you get mad gains and become swole.
Ahoy should do a video on TES. [editline]17th September 2017[/editline] Or/and Fallout.
