On a related note, in the hour since I last posted I read the first book.
It was okay. Seemed a little rushed at stages. I really loved the movie and was hoping for maybe a little more. I've bought the second one. Do you recommend I watch the movie first or read the comic?

Probably read the comic first, if you preferred the first movie over the comic then maybe it'll be the same sort of scenario and you'll like the movie more again

I don't like Nicolas Cage in general, but he fits the role as Big Daddy perfectly. The chair scene was actually very powerful in my opinion, I don't think anyone could've done it much better (at least in this kind of movie). He's kinda like Keanu Reeves - other than the Matrix, I can't really think of a movie where he fits.
