this can happen in the ps4 version too
oh no somebody swore, this must really upset the other players to the point that they cant focus on the game at hand!! It's practically the ultimate psyche and can ruin entire games!

i dont understand why my post is so dumb? the only proper reply i've had to it is a really terrible comparison to simulating war, which doesn't even make sense when you make a sports game for sports fans, you put all of the rules of the sport in it. in a good sports game aimed at everyone, you can relax some of these rules so that less enthusiast players can enjoy the game too if swearing and poor sportsmanship is against the rules in NBA, why shouldn't they include that in the game? obviously it'd be good to know whether you can turn that feature on and off, because it's not going to be fun or practical for everyone, but that's a pretty fuckin cool use of the kinect if that's the case imagine playing an online game and seeing an opponent's player getting sent off because he is cursing down the mic so much. wouldn't that be really cool? i think so
This feature was present in NBA 2K13 as well. It's not new. I know in the last game it responded to several words. I just thought it was funny. I can't really tell if they are serious about it, or just decided to put it in there for fun.

I think a lot of people are assuming that it isn't. I don't know if it is, I don't have the game. But if you can switch it on/off, it's a nice feature for those people who want to avoid annoying tantrums from other players.
I think this is fucking awesome, haha! The amount of times me and my friends call each other out, this would just add to the hilarity.
People really are getting pissy about a feature that was just added as a bit of fun.
well give them a break. There really not much else they could add as a new feature.
would seem funny the first couple times but then it would get annoying quickly
well give them a break. There really not much else they could add as a new feature.
Realistic perspiration Observers play as towel boys who wipe sweat off the floor to prevent slippage
It might just be me but I don't say fuck every three seconds while I play online, this is a pretty neat feature honestly.
1. Start 2 player game with friend 2. Wait for their team to gain possession of the ball 3. Shout "FUCK" at the top of your lungs 4. Laugh as they get penalized
1. Start 2 player game with friend 2. Wait for his team to gain possession of the ball 3. Shout "FUCK" at the top of your lungs 4. Laugh as he gets penalized
But it can recognize people individually. :v:
But it can recognize people individually. :v:
But how does it associate each player with a team?
1. Start 2 player game with friend 2. Wait for their team to gain possession of the ball 3. Shout "FUCK" at the top of your lungs 4. Laugh as they get penalized
I don't think it actually works for local multiplayer. But I get trolled like hell on single player.
I'm not sure what the full repercussions are of swearing in NBA 2K13 and 2K14, but I believe in FIFA 13 swearing could cause the commentators to react to it. And in FIFA 14 you can supposedly get fired from career mode if it happens too much.
Can you get ejected if you keep it up?
Might as well just play the real sport with a ref.
Well, at least that punishment/disconnect I mentioned on the first page isn't as bad as America's Army. Shoot an ally, get kicked off the server and put in a jail until you quit your game entirely. I get that some think it's a cool simulation of real basketball to punish you for this, but it just perturbs me. I'm not one of those people that would curse heavily over something in a game, but it's bound to cause a controversial subject of whether or not it's right for devs to begin trying to curb external bad language overall.

If in multiplayer okay. If you can't swear when you are by yourself in your own house, fuck that. What's the next step? Grounding you for a day from using xbox for swearing?
For some reason it reminds me of an easter egg in one of the Spiderman games where if you entered a swear into the cheat code menu Spiderman would come onto the screen and change it to another word like "flower"
