I dreamed one day I was in a futuristic war. I remember a tall building to my left, two men to my right and left, me behind a stone barricade, a yellowish atmosphere and dust everywhere. But I don't dream much and the dream only lasted about five seconds.
I know not all of you are going to believe me and hell I wouldnt believe myself if I told myself about it. I am a man of science and i am yet to make heads or tails of this. Basically I have dreamt the future at least 2 times, and I am not sure how many more times I have as I dont realise untill it happens. What will happen is I will have a regular dream, nothing special maybe im at some place doing something then later on, even months later it happens in reality, and only at the exact moment that everything "lines" up do i realise that I dreamt it. The first time it happened to me sacared the shit out of me. I had just started a IT course at Tafe and was in one of my new rooms, the class went on for a while and the teacher went on about the course and so on, then she said she had some paperwork for us and proceeded to hand out some sheets of paper, thats when it happened I was filled with dread over something so trivial but I then realised that everything, the layout of the room the clothes and faces of people i had never met, the teacher how and where she was standing the seating order EVERYTHING was exact, I then got a txt from my girlfriend at the time (now my ex) which made me nearly fall out of the chair, so I just grabbed my things and left the room right there and then. The Second time (about 1 year later) happened today, I was having a lan with my friend and we just got gears of war up and running, we were playing for a while and just then it happened again, EVERYTHING the clothes we were wearing the layout of the pcs, the map in which we were playing (I had never played the map before today) the conversation we were having everything was an exact recount of a dream I had a few months ago. I wasnt scared this time I just sat back in my chair and staired thinking about what just happened, every little feeling was a copy of the dream. Now, my problem is... this is impossible. This cant possibly happen, but it does and its never anything important, never a huge disaster or someone close dying, something I would want to prevent or could watch out for, its always mundane little things that dont make sense, why would I be dreaming these things? is something happening that im not aware of but will realise later on? i just dont know. But I would like to know if anyone else has heard of this shit or had it happen to them. Its never anything important and for all I know I might have already had another dream that will come true but I havent realised. The dreams are very vivd so maybe thats a clue? I really dont know. TLDR: I dream the future, its never anything important, read the fucking op lazy.
What's likely happening is you are having very average dreams, and so it seems as nothing. Then, when something happens, your mind inserts that situation into that memory. I forget what it's called, but Psychologists have been able to convince people that they did something that they actually didn't. They suddenly start inventing memories like "Oh yeah, now I do remember, and blah blah happened and blah blah happened" The psychologist then got the family to come in to convince him that the memory is fake and he won't believe them. Your mind is obviously messing with your memory. Memory is a very odd thing and can change very easily. You're just recalling the dream and replacing it with the situation at hand, and then you freak out about it. If the problem persists, I recommend seeing a psychologist or psychiatrist. This could be a legitimate medical issue and you should seek help if it continues to bother you. Hope that helps!
Thanks mate, I do concede that this could be dejavu but I have had regular dejavu before and its been different to these times, that gears of war lan thing was exact I remember it EXACTLY how it was in the dream, the most obvious was the level in which we were playing the scene was exact. And that damn classroom thing scared me out of the room it was extremely vivid. But I dont know, this could be stress related I have been under ALOT of stress lately, with lots of terrible things happening (Lost my gf of 3 years, house got destroyed by flood, nan had a heartattack etc etc) So I could just be going crazy or some shit I dont know really :/

And to be fair that's not very stressful.

You're not psychic. Also, sorry you left your sink on and it destroyed your house.
My best friend also dreams about the future. I don't know how it works but it just works. It's kinda cool.
De JaVu effects everyone. You are not special.
Deja Vu is really awesome. I enjoy having it, mainly because every time I have it I always remembering myself thinking that I'll not do whatever I'm doing when it occurs.
I get this way more often, and every time I get dizzy and just go "Oh fuck, I've dreamed about this..." It's not a fucking Deja Vú like some people say. A Deja Vu is when you relive something SIMILIAR to what has happened before. This isn't the case. It's seeing the exact goddamn thing you saw in the dream. Clothing, wall decorations, entire conversations. It isn't something you have done before, unless it was in a different life - but that'd require those people to be the exact same age in THAT life as well. So no, it's not deja vú. It's not supernatural either. But since us humans only use like 10% of our brain, who knows what kind of power our brain really has? We'll probably never find out either. Edit: I HAVE been through a Deja vú. This is nothing like it. It's a MUCH more akward, yet fascinating feeling than a Deja Vú.
You can never be in the future because then it will be the present. deep shit man, deep.
I dreamed the death of my friends little brother two weeks before it happened.. Yeah. Try feeling that kind of punishment.
This shit's happened to me. It scares me. Hell I remember I was just seeing this crushed cracker on the lunchroom floor, then disregarding it in my dream. Next day, there it was, crumbs point-by-point perfection. I shit myself. That and sometimes even shit on the PC will be exactly in the dream, things I would've never seen until months later.
At least your dreams aren't important. Both times I dreamed about car crashes that happened to other people, and the details of the crash are perfect to what I "saw". Eg. I'm a kid with my family in the car and the last thing I see is a tree coming towards me. A month later on the news a boy dies from car crash by being flung into a tree. I don't think it was Deja vú because i "saw" it in his eyes, not on the news in my dream.

TLDR: I dream the future, its never anything important, read the fucking op lazy.
I've had deja vu's before. But very rarely, and they're just in passing. But for this past week, I've been having deja vu's constantly. On the scale of around 2 per hour. I keep going back to the past, trying to remember where I remembered this, or why I feel it's a deja vu, or where I may have happened across something similar. When I think long and hard about it, I get these false, ghost like memories of a recent event. And I swear to myself it happened before. And I tell myself, no. This is nothing. This means nothing. I feel disconnected. My dreams are also bothering me, for the past few months I've noticed that the line between reality, and dreams, is getting thinner and thinner. My dreams have become so real, so believable, so integrated with my life. No more lord of the rings fantasy dreams. They're all replaced with real life situations. And I cannot tell the difference between sleep, and consciousness. I wake up, and I wonder, why am I in my bed? Or sometimes, I dream that I did something, only to find out that I didn't, and I have to do it again. It's been getting worse and worse as the week goes by. And I toy with the idea, I play around with the idea that the beginning of time and the end of time are connected. Somehow my past and future are interacting with each other to give me the illusion of the present. Or that my consciousness is lagging behind reality. Like in a video game. And then I wonder, what if this all was a dream, like in the matrix? It feels like I'm not alive. I feel dead. It feels like my life is a lie. Or a recording. It feels like I have already lived this life. I have already died. Once. And I'm living it again.
If he tolds you he actually made a dream about it you can't say it's deja vu, but anyway...
Thank god some people get it, its so much more than simple dejavu, just wish I could make sense of it.
its just your brain not responding sometimes, so you experience it and then your brain gets a chance to filter it and WHOOP, you think you have had that experience before but you havnt. case closed.
The brain can't predict the future. Don't be stupid.
what is the future, really?
The brain can't predict the future. Don't be stupid.

Shit that hasn't happened.
When I throw a ball, my brain is able to visualize its trajectory. That is how I am able, after estimating the distance/other factors, to accurately land the ball where I want it to. Now, admittedly, predicting a complex sequence of events is much more of stretch from throwing a ball. A computer can do this to a certain extent. That is how we model things such as the effect of climate change x years into the future. And we need something of this size to rival something of this size in a little board game. how is this not something impossible? Maybe deja vu is a subconscious manifestation of the brain's predictions.
I have the same thing :crossarms: But it's not in deja vu kind of. When i was in the fourth grade, I dreamt of a 5th grade history project. Like native American tribes, etc. And it happened a year later after i dreamed
That is not "predicting the future", that is visualizing the trajectory. You can't compare those 2 things. [editline]12:59PM[/editline] Look, there's a clear difference. You can calculate some unclear shit that MIGHT happen, but that would be the same retardation psychics use. You can calculate 30 million different outcomes of a situation, but that is not PREDICTING THE FUTURE.
On a macroscopic level if you know the exact initial conditions you can predict the exact outcome (barring any cases where quantum physics will play a major role in the outcome of said macroscopic events).
:downswords:
No, no, no, no, no and nooo. [editline]02:21AM[/editline] Did I mention no?
Isn't that a picture of Deep Blue? Hardly the best example of a super computer given what computers nowadays are capable of compared to back then.

OP and everyone agreeing with him are retarded. Deja Vu does not mean you're experiencing something similar to what has happened before. It's your brain fucking up and saying what you're experiencing has happened before when it, infact, has not. The human brain cannot predict the future, period. It is literally impossible.
