I wish they had more of this but they did like....late clone wars era stuff
Can someone give me the run-down of what happens to the squad in the books? I never got around to reading them, but loved playing the game. Always wanted to know what happen.
The books have fuck all to do with Delta squad (although I only read the first two since karen traviss' writing is unbearable), they made up a new squad whos name I can't remember and delta only gets a side appearance in the second book.
Very bland books imo (also clone x jedi romance, because there's nothing I want to read about more in a book about clone troops than a hamfisted, lore contradicting romance)

Karen Traviss also fucked up Halo: Glasslands.
After I read that, I knew the series was going down the shitter fast.

She also did a terrible job with Gears of War 3
I know gears never had an amazing story, but GoW 3 was by far the worst for story line.
I wonder if he talks about the weird way they implemented bump-mapping into a Unreal 2 game and thus why when you try to play republic commando on any kind of new graphics card with bump-mapping on the game either crashes or the bumpmaps applied on the models look weird as fuck.
still looks great though;

There is a slight problem where bumpmaps don't work on newer cards.
Yeah it's because they managed to hack bump-mapping and detail map support into a unreal 2 game, but they did it in such a hack and slash way it doesn't work on ATI or newer Nvidia cards.
It works on the CD version, but not Steam. According to the comments on the second video, there's a fix.
Some parts of the game look really bizarre with bumpmapping on high. In particular, Destroy the Factory has rooms that look like a blend between metal and camouflage.
I have Republic commando on CD with a Nvidia GTX 680 and all the character models look fucked with bump-mapping.
there is a fix but you have to go into every texture with the provided unreal 2 dev kit and unfuck them manually.
fortunately looks like somebody did that themselves and released them in a pack.
I knew I had a reason to keep this 8800 ultra around and it wasn't even for cooking pancakes or eggs! Republic Commando here I come.
