thats uh, a big part of the game.
I just don't see how it's cool or useful

ok
I just don't see how it's cool or useful
When you play on higher difficulties you want to conserve your ammo as much as possible, as any money saved is going to help you and your team, and slow mo helps with that. Also it's fun
Aside from graphical improvements and gameplay tweaks, what are people here getting so excited about?
hurr what are sequels.
I hate when people in front don't crouch, reason why I stopped playing KF (that and all my friends switched to other games).
I never crouch unless I'm hosting because half the time the server doesn't recognise me as crouching and my bullets don't go where I'm aiming.
It looks amazing, definitely going to get it when it's released.
Gonna need to get my friends to get it aswell though, I hated played pubs. Really only played KF1 with friends. Most of the time it was either people who had no clue on how to play or they were way too elitist to have an enjoyable game with.
The audio of them guns sound amazing
Two things I liked from that is how you can try to reload a full gun and instead you give it a quick look over.
That and when they found the last living scrake it pointed at them in a "THERE you are"-like manner and raised his chainsaw
I REALLY want this, but i've lost touch with my gaming buddies :(
hurr what are sequels.
Those usually have big improvements in every aspect, this one falls short so far.
Don't you just love people who focus on the negatives before a game comes out?
I understand people being concerned over some things, but you have to remember the game will come out in Early Access form, so there will be constant updates and changes to the game depending on the feedback from the community around it.
Besides, it's not like Tripwire doesn't listen to their community.
[sp]While we're at it with the negatives, where are the posts about how the president of Tripwire is apparently a massive SJW because he doesn't want bikini women in the game?[/sp]
Those usually have big improvements in every aspect, this one falls short so far.
I think you might need your eyes checked by a professional.
Those usually have big improvements in every aspect, this one falls short so far.
:v: This game looks pretty different from KF1. I mean it is still a Killing Floor game, obviously it's going to maintain a lot of the same elements.
But I think the updated graphics, the new "high fps" weapon animations, the new zed damage+animation model are quite significant changes.

What have you been smoking? Have you even watched the video? Tripwire have done so much work on this that they've actually brought in elements from the Unreal 4 engine into the earlier Unreal 3 engine that the game is built on. And watching the video, how can you be so blind as to not see the myriad improvements they've made to the game? Level design with doors and lights being permanently broken to discourage camping, improved Zed animations and AI, not to mention their improved design and visual upgrades, Reloads animated at 200fps with indicators of full mags to let the player know how much ammo they have in reserve, hugely improved skill and perk levelling with a greater range of classes, more weapons at launch than KF1 had, environmental effects that remain constant throughout a game (e.g. broken elements in the environment and the blood, oh Lord the blood), improvements with in-game VoIP, DOSH PHYSICS, new bosses to supplement the Patriarch, 22 points of dismemberment around the Zeds' bodies... I could go on.
Falls short, my arse!
Looking forward to this.

I didn't say anything about the visual elements, what concerns me is the general gameplay, did not know about the lights thing, that's good, but what other improvements are supposed to keep the gameplay fresh and varied throughout hours?

'Tripwire are also introducing a new perk progression system, that allows for more customisation. To alleviate the perk levelling grind from the first game, the number of levels has been increased drastically to allow players to level up more regularly. Each perk now has configurable skills along with passive bonuses. Tripwire are planning to implement support for Steam Workshop and release a software development kit to allow for extensive modding.'
I just don't see how it's cool or useful
That is entirely your opinion and let me tell you sir, it's not a common one.
Slow-mo bullet time is pretty much the definition of cool, and I don't see how time almost stopping so you can line up perfect shots isn't useful.

Better graphics, better hitboxes, better progression, undoubtably a better server system, tons of detail put into the game, a cosmetic system that will hopefully stay true to KF1's early business model of only charging for skins.
They completely updated Killing Floor in every way possible.
It's kind of irritating how in all the PC Gamer gameplay vids thus far most of the people playing are just spraying and praying, using hipfire while aiming at the chest. Still looks solid though.
[editline]29th March 2015[/editline]
Actually I take that back. Found one where the guy playing is actually pretty decent.

It's taking itself a bit seriously (I can't imagine a character shouting 'Loadsamoney!, and I didn't hear anything much like that in the video) but apart from that it looks amazing. As above, the sprint looks like an excuse to have a different animation as opposed to actually moving quicker, but that's about all I can criticise so far.

for whatever reasons these clowns keep going for body shots. you can see near the beginning of the video ~0:45 headshots do a lot of damage. it's just that these guys have shit aim.
'pc gamer' people are shit at actually playing games, so theres that.
'pc gamer' people are shit at actually playing games, so theres that.
Isn't it curious how reviewers are almost always awful at games?
The first thing people should talk about once early access comes out is the sprint speed, the animations do not match your 2.5% speed increase AT ALL.
If you were good at playing games you wouldn't become a journalist.
Well, some of it is to appeal to people wanting to check how the guns look without aiming down the sights and such, but most of it is just because they spend a lot more time writing about games rather than playing them, which is why you normally don't trust reviews for more 'hardcore' parts of games.
New maps, new characters, new boss, new soundtrack, new weapons, new character progression method. Graphics update is amazing as well, that gore covering and staying is amazing.
I would love to be able to play the old characters, old maps, old soundtrack on the new game. I think that would be pretty swell :P
I'll play devil's advocate as to why the PC Gamer folks suck ass at the game.
I'm willing to bet it's to do from a marketing side. The reason why they're sucking is on purpose in order to make the game look intense and challenging.
What would you rather play? A game where it looks easy as fuck to wipe everything out, or a game where it looks like it's a massive challenge to even get past a point in it?
I don't know about you, but I personally prefer a game that is challenging over one that is just a casual romp.
[sp]In reality though, they probably just really suck ass.[/sp]
[sp]In even more reality, maybe the reason why they seem to suck is because of something I like to call "Dark Souls Syndrome", in which people think they're better than the people they watch play a game that they like, when in reality, if they were to do the same thing, they'd get a lot of people saying they suck at the game as well.[/sp]

I rather see the capabilities people can pull off. They're suppose to be marketing toward gamers, it would be a lot cooler to see someone doing awesome things then a game looking hard.
And most people buying games probably have experience with other types of games so they shouldn't be playing at this level.
I like to think I can pick up a game, learn the mechanics, and play pretty good immediately.
Which is probably part of why I don't like seeing people have no idea what they're doing when showing off games.
It's a mix of marketing and them being terrible, really. I think whoever hires them hires shitters on purpose for that reason, two birds with one stone.
If that's the case I'll really miss that. The corny british lines were part of the reason why I enjoyed KF so much
Worst case scenario, someone can always mod it in.
