Isn't this film bacially No more Heroes?
Far From it
That's like saying, "Hey, have you seen that movie where Sylvester Stallone is a badass?" Or "Hey, have you seen that movie where Jackie Chan is the Kung-Fu Master?"
People get typecast. Micheal Cera is good at playing an awkward teen who gets the girl because people can sympathize with him and think he's cute. What role would you rather see him play? Not many actors are great outside their comfort zone.
Listen to this man.
Also, I was disappointed by the fight vs. the Twins.
Am I the only one that thinks adult swim should just go and create an animated series of the books?
I mean like, every detail. every page. EVERYTHING that was in the books :v:
I was thinking something similar where they only did books 5 and 6 in animation to offer an alternate ending.
this movies trailer pisses me off
that's how stupid i think this is
Well good job.

good criticism bro!
Like there's any good positive criticism.
All I've seen is "I'd fuck Kim" and "My favourite line/part was
".

If Michael Cera can learn to voice act.
If Michael Cera can learn to voice act.
I think they should just get a Michael Cera sound a like that CAN voice act.
Because I really think Michael Cera does make a good Scott Pilgrim animated or not.

Then you've obviously been tuning out a good third of the thread. I don't think anybody really appreciates you forcing your uninformed opinion.
It's hypocritical to shun a negative comment about the trailer while tons of people say equally stupid things in favour of the film. It's not an "uninformed opinion".

i hated the trailer too
then i saw the movie anyway. was great. you and I are wrong

Go watch the movie and you can criticize us all you want.
I've read the books and I have to say , i didn't think I would enjoy it because I knew what was going to happen, but I really enjoyed it, idk whats everyones deal with Micheal Cera. He seemed to do the part pretty well.

But he's not criticizing the trailer, he's judging the entire movie based on it. If he just said "the trailer looks dumb" that would be one thing, but he said that he wasn't going to see the movie because it looked stupid. That's his call to make, but even if you decide not to see it you don't go telling it's fans that you think it's stupid without even watching it.

you should go see it because it's hilarious.
Just saw it, I liked it a lot. While I don't know anything about the graphic novels, Cera's role was still trying get the girl of his dreams, but this time I didn't care, the pace and style just felt different, I was entertained throughout the whole thing, pretty cool movie.
I wanna see this movie, but the only legal way is to a cinema with a translation that ruined all the jokes :(

If it's Russian you're talking about then the case is usually that they try to localize the jokes and, usually, they do a pretty good job at it. А тряпка фильма еще не вышла.
The soundtrack to the game is finally being released on iTunes!
Do you wish you had the soundtrack to the recently released Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game, so that you had the appropriate tunes for your favorite exercise routine? That routine being, of course, beating the coins out of Canadian hipsters. The 8-bit quartet Anamanaguchi, which crafted the beat-em-up's score, recently announced that the soundtrack will be released August 24 on iTunes through ABKCO Music and Records.
The whole theater I was in cheered when the little blurb about Toronto popped up at the beginning.
Went to a UK preview last night, and as a huge fan of the books, I loved it. So many references to the book, like Stephen Stills' drawings of 'Crash & the Boys' being the comic originals, or the character ratings boxes appearing - there's so much in there for comic fans. I also thought that the Katayangi Twins fight was way better than the book - incredibly enjoyable. And the extra life sequence was absolutely perfect in showing him [sp]restart the level again[/sp].
I took my 50-something dad too, and oddly he seemed to enjoy it even more than me.
Absolutely fantastic, can't wait to see it again next week.
(N.B. If you've not seen it yet, stay until after the credits!)

Will do, thanks bro.
Going to see this on it's UK release. not on the release day, ofc. that's a wednesday. and it'll be packed as fuck.

Doubt I'll be able to see this for a while, mind posting the after credits scene in spoiler tags?

Someone please do this. I knew I should have stayed, I just had the feeling.
Since a bunch of people asked - here's the after-credit spoiler:
[sp]'THE END' pops up in a pixel style, causing a little 8-bit Scott to pop up, demolish the logo into coins, turn to the audience & teleport away. Nothing fancy, but it's a cool, fun little scene. Nice end to the movie.[/sp]
Hahah, I get to see it again, I saw it the first time with friends, and now my parents want to see it, so they're bringing me.
