Saw this today, been released a few days in England so I had to go down and see if it lived up to it's hype.
Now, to anyone who normally wouldn't like Michael Cera, he's brilliant. I usually don't like him as he always plays the same old role but in this film it actually fitted in VERY well.
I loved every scene, properly enjoyed it all the way through. Even the crazy comic style CGI worked beautifully and the game references were awesome.
This is one of the best films I've ever seen.
Any idea when this is coming out in Europe? Can't find a cinema near me that plays it, so I guess it's not out yet :saddowns:

We are Sex Bob-Omb, and we're here to make you think about death and get sad and stuff!
I think my problem with the movie was that it asked me to suspend my dibelief too much. The excuse for him seeing Ramona in a dream was ridiculous (it might be an injoke from the comics I don't know) That and the jarring flips between reality and this weird videogame effects setpiece every five minutes made me question whether the protagonist was hallucinating.
By the end of the film Scott Pilgrim is a serial killer
Is it just me or did you steal some of that from Tvtropes Wild mass guessing page for Scott Pilgrim?

That. Except with less "in England", and more "in Scotland".
Went to see this today in Scotland too Hellduck, shit was AWESOME. I am in love with this movie.
I saw this movie the day after it came out.
It did not disappoint, even though I wish they had put a bit more story in from the books.

No, I haven't actually read the page yet.
thanks for reminding me

You don't understand, reality = weird videogame effects.

Can't argue much there.
Well, you fuckers did it. I was simply going to wait for the dvd release, but now I have to go see it tonight because of how many of you are saying it kicks ass. It's all your fault.

Well there is a theory circulating around that since most of the movie functions like a videogame people just "Respawn"
I mean look at [sp]Roxy, she gets one simple poke the back of the leg and gets defeated, Ramona said she did this while making out with her, so clearly it has happened before[/sp]

Only Scott can "kill" League members. Atleast that is how I understood it. Also [sp]that thing seemed to be "orgasmic" for her if you can catch my drift [/sp] :smug:

They touched on it a little, but her explanation in the movie is the same as in the comics. The entire movie uses video game logic, and is in a video game world, so saying it didn't make sense doesn't make sense itself. That's like saying when you go to see a Superman movie, you find it silly that Superman can fly and is super strong.

The bass is awesome.
Also the movie somehow makes me crave a bass for myself. ( I only got normal guitars )

good luck finding one under 1000$ :smug:
Sepaking from my previous note ( My friends wanted to go see Vampire Suck, I wanted to watch Scoot Pilgrim), things actually went bettwer than expected.
They got sick of Vampires Suck 5 minutes in and I suggested we all go to see Scott Pilgrim (Which was conviently located in the theater next to the one we were in.)
They agreed and we got in about towards the end of the first battle with Patel. They thought it was awesome.
Onn a side note, since it was my second time seeing it, I noticed [sp] The battle between Scott and Lucas Lee's stunt doubles is basically one big reference to The Warriors, complete with music [/sp]
Sometimes, my friends are awesome. :unsmith:
They gave their fucking money to vampires suck.
This movie deserves better box office money.
I just watched it, was really surprised how much I enjoyed it. I'd never read the comics but it was totally awesome, one thing has been really annoying me though. One of the first fights just don't seem to fit in with the film as well as the rest of them do, I dunno what it is but it seemed to break the whole film flow for that scene.
Aside from me being overly picky, awesome film.
Loved when his hat magically appeared on his head whenever someone mentioned his hair
Totally a good reason to not see a movie!
You have incredible foresight about so many things.
