Argh reading what the empire readers think on the forum they have is horrible. Barely anyone liked it, and various people rate it one star for merely being a flop.

Don't worry it will hit Cult Status the moment it hits DVD and bluray like Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz
Let me put it this way:
This is the one movie of the past 3 years that I want to buy. The only one that I actually want to go out and physically buy.
[sp]And I will[/sp]

Tell me does the trailer do a good job of selling the film
If it does then imo it is not a good film

Actually the trailer really doesn't do the film justice at all.
I'm'a post what I thought of the film. From my ava, you can see I'm a Cera fan, and having seen the trailers for a good few months and knowing of Cera's involvement for some time, I made my way to the first screening opening day last week.
I was quite looking forward to it to the point I was salivating during the trailers, but I came out a tad disappointed. Why, you ask? Well, it got quite boring half way through. It just seemed to be the same thing over and over, and that bored me. I was surprised at myself as my attention span usually lasts for a good 3 or 4 films in a row, but something made me switch off. Not sure what. It wasn't as funny as I'd have expected either, to be honest, but Edgar Wright's style was just brilliant as usual.
And before people start posting that I didn't understand it - yes I did. I understood the plot, the humour and the references. Don't assume somebody who got bored part-way through a film didn't "get it"...
By no means awful in comparison as I'd have hoped (I was expecting to give it an 8/10), but a well-rounded film nonetheless. 7/10?

I'd say there's more to the movie than the "plot", humor, and the references. It's called the point.

What a tit thing to say.
I just saw the film, and I liked it, I thought it was quite funny and the effects were great, I loved the characters and the game references (I think I was the only one who laughed at the universal logo though). I would have loved it but I thought there was something missing, and I don't know what it was, it just seems like something wasn't there - maybe because it seemed to jump from one bit to the next too quickly, when I expected something else to happen.

You sound like my pretentious friend who shouted at me for talking about the ending of inception - "WHY ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT THE PLOT WHEN THERE'S MORE IMPORTANT ISSUES"
If he wants to discuss the plot, let him, it's just as much a part of the film as the "meaning" is, if a film has a shitty plot it is a shitty film.
Although I did like the story, so I don't know why you were being sarcastic, it was an original idea.
Just saw it again. [sp]The vegan police[/sp] gets me every time.
It's milk and eggs bitch!
That was a badass movie. Any movie with Michael Cera is awesome.
Went to go see it the other day for the second time, drove out for 2 hours, got to the theater and the damn thing was gone from theaters replaced with a second "The Other Guys"
God dammit I already wanna watch it again
took a girl out to see it, it was pretty good

I want to take a girl to go see it too, but I am too nervous to ask her :(
I thought this was going to be an awful movie when I saw the previews, BUT I ended up seeing it with some friends and I am actually impressed! I don't know how I managed to see it after watching Youth in Revolt get shit on but they actually pulled it off.
I watched this yesterday. I though it was fucking awesome! Now I'm learning all of the bass parts in the sex bob-omb songs.

The trailer is one of the most pathetic pieces of advertising bullshit I've ever seen, to be honest.
Just saw with 4 friends, It was great, but I kept feeling like something was missing as I had read the comics before hand, and without all the back story It felt just weird
Final Fantasy 2?
I suppose there is no harm in learning the theme to Final Fantasy 2 while I am at it.
this movie was the best movie of the year, period. after the movie i read the books. the books were even better than the movie.
I'm still not sure why people call this movie and the books "Hipster" there is nothing hipster about
not a single FUCKING thing.

Odd, I thought the Matthew Patel battle in the comics mocked hipsters.
