I saw this again today. It has great re-watch value. Apparently one of my friends has seen it 5 times, and he isn't even the movie type!
They knocked Scott Pilgrim out of the only theatre that plays it in my area... for Eclipse reshowings.
I was gutted to see that Scott Pilgrim only had one 5pm slot per day in the most popular movie theatre in Newcastle. I went for the very first viewing the day it came out, Im glad I booked because every seat was taken. Its such a gem of a film though, one minute it would have the whole audience laughing then the next I almost had a tear running down my cheek. There were also the awesome fights and effects. Our film experience was slightly ruined by some guy Im sure was on drugs, though, even at things nobody else laughed at he sat at the back going "GAHAHAHAHA HAHHAHAH", and for effect, if there were something bigger than caps, I would have put the second bit in that.
I liked how in Vol 4 during the Roxie Richer fight Scott [sp]was in Ramona's bag[/sp] for most of the time. I just found it so amusing, [sp]how a foot in diameter bag could hold a 5 foot something 23 year old, with his head peeking out.[/sp]
Just saw the movie and I was really surprised; I enjoyed it.
I haven't gotten to fucking see it. I might have to drive up to atlanta to find a theatre or something.
This movie was fucking awesome. Absolutely awesome, veeeery original.

And also a direct route to her head where Gideon is. [/sp]
I just got the books, time to get reading!
Why ? WHY ? WHYYYYYYYYY ?! God damn you, cinema exploitation ! I mean, seriously, even if the movie is actually good, just look at the books and even the video game ! It's supposed to be a cartoon-ish world, and turning it into a real life story is just... awkward.
Did you see it? They actually executed the transition and the world really well. Incredibly, even.

We're talking Edgar Wright here, it's not just adapted for the sake of money.
isn't the game supposed to be really good?
isn't the game supposed to be really good?
Yes, it is. So is the movie. So are the books. Have you read any of the thread?
Yes, it is. So is the movie. So are the books. Have you read any of the thread?
Not much of it. I'm busy. Also, if you saw my post a while back, I haven't gotten to see the movie because Eclipse being replayed pushed it out (this was confirmed when I asked the theatre). I plan to buy the books, and gameplay looked solid.
I just finished the books, and they are probably on my list of all time favorites now.
best movie 2010 i want to go see it again
Well if the movie is as good as the rest of the franchise, I just don't have a bad word to say about all this. It's just that almost every port of stuff like books or video games into movies end in a horrible, steaming and unfaithful pile of shit.
That may be the rule, but this is the exception. In the best way possible.
Doesnt anyone else think that they could do so much more with the story?
Doesnt anyone else think that they could do so much more with the story?
Nah, its a movie. Sure I would have loved to have Lisa in the film, but if they added her, the would have to add all the story behind her, and make the movie a good 30-40 minutes longer.
When I saw this movie, my friends thought the character of Wallace was actually based off of me. Fucking awesome.
Wallace was a pretty cool guy I'd totally be friends with him Let's be friends! Also yeah everyone I know who's seen this movie likes it no exceptions. It's pretty awesome.
Anyone know anything about a DVD release?
They were talking about October earlier in the thread, although don't quote me on that.
October 27th was the date, if I remember right.
The fuck, the movie is coming on DVD before it actually aired here in Europe. Bull-fucking-shit, I tell ya.
I think its sad how it didnt get very much recognition, I mean in the first week of release it only had one 5PM slot per day at the most popular cinema in my city. Its such a brilliant film, they did a great job at making it feel like a comic book, jumping through the story very fast paced with a lot of action.
Well. Watchmen, Kickass, Scott Pilgrim. I'm starting to love comic book based movies!
