Watching this right now. Loving it so far.
I'm on the last comic, and jesus, there are so many things left out of the film.
Film was being made when the last comic was still in development
The Ramona ending was exactly the same ending as the comic
It was a bit different it showed Scotts new band playing together doing a horrible version of a Monkees song and then saying good bye to Knives and going off into subspace.
Macaulay culkin is a weirdo. I was watching Scott Pilgrim and I said "Gee that gay kid sure does remind me of Macaulay Culkin" and things got a little weirder when I found out that gay roommate is actually Macaulay Culkins fucking brother. It was like macaulay culkin was actually in that movie.
I found his brother to be cute :3:
Film was being made when the last comic was still in development
Even then, the 4th and 5th ones with all of the flashbacks, those are not even remotely present in the movie. Though it's understandable, since I doubt you could cover everything in 1 and a half hours.
I don't understand why they can't have 3-hour movies anymore. Gone with the Wind did it. :saddowns:.
I don't understand why they can't have 3-hour movies anymore. Gone with the Wind did it. :saddowns:.
It has to do with how the movie was planned. There are worse adaptations that had shorter time lengths. So I think this one came out well.
Like I've said back in the Blu-Ray discussion thread: Every year there's pretty much a limit of maybe two movies that I'd actually buy with money. (Three, if it's a really good year) This was one of them. I absolutely loved it. One of my biggest complaints in movie adaptations is that they tend to stray away from the source material, leaving an almost transparent line connecting the two. This movie totally averted that. Completely blew past my expectations, and actually made me want to buy it. I have not wanted to buy a physical copy of a movie in forever. I dunno if it was Edgar Wright's genius, or maybe the near shot-by-shot adaptation on the comics, or maybe the unique design of the comic-book effects used with the live-action contrast. Whatever it was, this movie was unique. You really don't see that any more. Seriously. Just look at that shit. How could you not love this movie? [editline]17th November 2010[/editline]
It has to do with how the movie was planned. So I think this one came out well.
Lambada actually made a good point the other day, saying that this movie was pretty much the perfect amount of time. It didn't drag on, but also gave you a clear indication as to when it would end... but still supplied plenty of time to sit through and enjoy it all. It's the kind of movie that you don't want to end so quickly, but still has to.
Im going to watch this movie soon.
Watched it yesterday It was an Epic of Epic Epicness Can anyone give me a link to read it online , I cant buy the comic here ( In soviet russia)
ha! in soviet russia, comic read you!
I enjoyed the songs performed by Sex Bob-omb. From what I've read, they were written by Beck but sung by the actors (the soundtrack actually has 2 versions of each... actor version and Beck version). Wish there was a cd of that kind of music. Any bands with a similar raw sound and somewhat close vocal lead?

I was disappointed at the fight between Scott and Matthew Patel. They didn't pose the characters awesomely like this in the movie: [IMG_thumb]http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll320/Mysterypegnuin/146-147.png[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll320/Mysterypegnuin/150-151.png[/IMG_thumb] In the movie, Scott just threw a symbol at him :( They also mixed up the dialogue.
Matthew: That doesn't even rhyme! Scott: Shut up! :v:
Yeah that bit was probably the one bit of the film that annoyed me. Actually scrap that, 2 bits of the film annoyed me. That fight scene and the lack of a monkeys cover at the end.
Just got the blu-ray, Me and my girlfriend are going to watch it on saturday once she gets off work. It's also kind of cool, because Mary Elizabeth (Ramona) reminds me of my girlfriend, it's the eyes, really. But it's going to be a good day.
My friend is obsessed with this movie. He showed me a clip of it. Apparently being a vegetarian is a superpower.
I haven't bought a movie in years, but I went out and bought the Blu Ray collectors edition of this movie. I watched all of the special features :smug:
My friend is obsessed with this movie. He showed me a clip of it. Apparently being a vegetarian is a superpower.
No, no, being a VEGAN gives you superpowers.
No, no, being a VEGAN gives you superpowers.
You know, I've all ways wondered, how does that work?
The only thing that annoyed me was the Bollywood Mathew Patel fight. Music seemed too out of place in my opinion. Original dialog would have suited just fine.
You know, I've all ways wondered, how does that work?
Okay, you know how you only use 10% of your brain? It's because the other 90% is filled with Curds and Whey.
Hopefully he goes back and writes about what happens to Ramona and Scott and brings back the old characters sometime. [editline]17th November 2010[/editline] I really enjoyed the series, it's kind of sad to see it over and have it be so short. [editline]17th November 2010[/editline] Also, they didn't go into Lynette's character at all in the movie.

The Movie was cool but the book was 10xbetter.
