Well it's enough to tell me it's full of patronizing and ham-fisted video game references. A more apt analogy would be if every picture from the Star Wars magazine had Jar-Jar in it.
You say "Ham-fisted" and "Patronizing", when the reality is "affectionate".
Most of the refrences are made to perfectly fit the scene, and compliment either jokes or the score.
It's diffcult to explain to someone who hasn't seen it.
All you need to know is that actually having played those games in your childhood will make you love the refrences, and how well they were done.
There's nothing "Ham-fisted" or "Patronizing" about them.

I didn't read your post but I'm sure it sucks.

And how many people here read Twilight? It's the same thing, but for boys.

I'd slap you across the face if there weren't so much internet in the way.
The thing I liked the least was Michael Cera.

What? You want to fight? Because we can take this outside.
Funny you should mention that...

Oh yeah, Gideon's fucked now.
I don't get why everyone is hating on Michael Cera. He's a fucking great actor, it's just that usually casters and directors he end up with give him stupid roles and awful character + dialogue.
If anything, Michael Cera was the only one who could be Scott Pilgrim, and he did a damn good job at it.

Typecasting.
The only reason they actually put Michael in is because they needed a popular name.
It just so happened he played Scott perfectly.
Having him in the movie seemed a bit...odd at first, but then you realize how good at it he really is.
I agree with you, though. Nobody could've played Scott as well, and in the end it all worked.
And yes, Michael is a great actor. Leaf Runner said it best with Cera just being casted into shit roles over and over again.
Hopefully this movie was enough to get him out of that endless loop of mediocracy.
Alright, here's a picture of what I won:

Too bad I didn't get that yellow/red shirt.
That's actually pretty nice.
I like the mint-ish colour.

Still prefer this, though.

Heres a good analogy
shut the fuck up.
Man I love that romantic comedy where Michael Cera is the awkward teenager chasing that girl who plays by her own rules and there's indie music
In all seriousness however, this looks pretty funny
Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist? Love that movie.

I watched the movie last night and I loved it. I loved the references everywhere to everything.

I see you saw that review on Rotten Tomatoes. I presume you've just been looking up all the negative reviews while drowning out the positives.

I hate twilight, because I've read it, most of it anyway. And it fucking hurt to do so, but at least I can say I'm not just bandwagoning, right? :downs:
Heh the hot chick standing in for Metric - black sheep sings their song better than the real lead singer does.
Did I mention she's hot?
Yeah she's hot.

it's autotuned
it's autotuned
Protip: so is 99% of music on the market today. Infact, very rarely will you find a mainstream artist who doesn't post edit their music and autotune.
The chick is a singer herself, so even without the autotune her inflection is different to that of metric.
My little sister went to watch this movie with her friends. I expected her to watch The Social Network or something since most games she plays is the Kingdom Hearts series and those casual games on Wii and Facebook.
And she enjoyed it. A lot. I was surprised.
From what she told me about the movie I think I need to buy this. Is it available for purchase in Finland yet?
it's autotuned
Brie Larson is in a band. (Envys actor) and she doesn't auto tune
if she does it's really hard to hear.

She really, really doesn't.
Her performance doesn't sound even remotely enhanced.

The album version is put into a filter, I think.
But the movie's? Not even close.

When she starts singing the first four lyrics, it definently sounds autotuned.

Are you talking about the album, or the movie?
If it's the latter, we must've seen different movies.
