75 on rotten tomatoes.
Maybe I'll read a few, but *some of the critics I've seen on Rotten Tomatoes in the past were pretty bad or missed the point of the movies, while Metacritic seems to be more careful about who is included in the score.
kind of sad that you rely on reviews to tell you what movies to see
Well I'm sorry I prefer watching good movies than average ones. If people trusted reviews more then The Hurt Locker would have been popular long before the Oscars, and with films that aren't advertised or hyped at all, like independent productions or foreign films, it's much easier to find excellent ones thanks to Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. It would also be much sadder to waste fifteen bucks and three hours of my time on a movie that's not worth it.
Movie critics are extremely harsh. I mean the first Austin Powers has 51 on metacritic and it's still a great movie IMO.
I don't trust critics as much with comedies, since it depends more on the viewer whether it's funny or not.
Well this is comedy.
I don't trust a movie with a tagline like "an epic of epicness." Sounds like it's written for 12-year-olds who spout "fail" and "win" and "epic" and "i can haz" and who actually speak abbreviations like "wtf" and "omg"
Well this is comedy.
Not exclusively. Austin Powers had nothing serious about it, but this does. And there's Michael Cera, and the shitty tagline that turned me off too.
Apparently micheal cera is great for that role. the tagline is a reference from the books which were first released in 2004.

EDIT: Oh wait, no, I forgot, Metacritic trashes The New York Times in credibility.
I hate the word "Epic". People should stop saying it.
Alright.... So, I assume since it's almost released, I can say things without Universal Studios raping my asshole. I attended a screening back in May for this movie, it was fucking hilarious for the first half. Edgar Wright's style of humor, really reminded me of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz in a way, the evil ex-girlfriend shit is dumb though, I wish he just went along making it a comedy because it was amazing for the first half. Once the evil ex-girlfriend shit comes up, I advise you to walk out. By the way, the version I saw was two and a half hours long, alot of people on their reviews said it was "too long" so I wouldn't be surprised if they cut it...

Plus, the ex-girlfriend part wasn't "shit". You're an idiot.
And you're an idiot for saying that I am bullshitting.
I saw a early showing, I know what I'm talking about.
There were no screenings in may, and second, most of the humor comes from the catalyst of the "Evil ex shit" as you put it.
Uh yes there were. It was the first screening.
Uh yes there were. It was the first screening.
I remember watching the Panel from Comic-Con, and they mentioned they just finished the movie the week earlier.
I remember watching the Panel from Comic-Con, and they mentioned they just finished the movie the week earlier.
And that's crap because Comic Con was like in July. I'm not going to bother arguing. Anyone who is considering seeing this, just read my post. If you doubt me, whatever.
Going to go Friday to see this when it releases. Can not wait to see it! Just the whole style of the movie looks kick ass.
Um Why the FUCK would they cut the Ex-girlfriend shit? that would completely defeat the whole purpose of making a Scott Pilgrim movie.
I know but I'm saying I don't see the appeal to that, I just liked it due to the typical nerdy humor from Edgar Wright, very "Spaced"-ish
Well it's supposed to be action-comedy.
am I the only one who sees Tabarnaco looking for an argument here
What?
I know but I'm saying I don't see the appeal to that, I just liked it due to the typical nerdy humor from Edgar Wright, very "Spaced"-ish
Erm, most of the jokes were ripped directly from the books.
am I the only one who sees Tabarnaco looking for an argument here
Agreed,
Whelp, I'm going to ask that girl to see this movie tomorrow. However, tomorrow seems to be Friday the 13th. Fuck the police, I'll do it anyways.
Agreed,
You sure are one to talk, completely disregarding the arguments that aren't in favour of the movie. Because we're just all "missing the point". And I have no idea what "looking for an argument here" is supposed to mean.

And I have no idea what "looking for an argument here" is supposed to mean.
You kind of are missing the point of the movie entirely. The movie takes almost completely off the book, which is complete un-serious, and was published in 2005 before the whole 'epic' thing got out of hand. Trailers never give a good impression, no matter what the movie.
I said before that they didn't need to re-use "epic" in the movie. And that... doesn't even matter, why the hell are you still talking about this. The tagline is fucking ridiculous whatever you say, the actors look stupid in the trailer whether it accurately represents the movie or not. I went even farther than that and checked the reviews. They were pretty average. I'm not going to watch this movie. Period.
why the hell are YOU still talking about this?
