I picked Red up on vinyl a bit ago. I love it. Starless is so good.

The Velvet Undergroudn and Nico

I don't know what to say about this album, except if you enjoy modern alternative music it probably would not have been possible with this album. This album was groundbreaking in so many ways, if you're a fan of rock and roll you owe it to yourself to listen to this album.
Check back through the thread because the same albums are coming up a lotta times :v:
system overload ya know..
It's worth it because it is a good album.
Fair enough, keep em' coming.
Devastation - Devastation Complete

There a Croatian thrash band from 1987-2010. There still kicking around but with a the name Hatross because some American band was using it too or something. The Quality on the album is way better then any of the videos you can find.

Dude.
I'm not a big fan of thrash metal but this is fucking awesome.

No idea how to describe Blackjazz to be honest, it's like jazz and progressive metal meet head on and are thrown into a blender.
10/10 album.
And they cover 21st century schizoid man :v:

Great album... Superb title song, but the album itself is often forgotten... it is a great one made in his prime days
It is a significant album in Prince's catalogue.. one of his very best actually
Have a listen
Prince is one of my favourite musicians of all time, hes up there with David Bowie in my eyes.
Sign O The Times and Purple Rain are his best albums, in my opinion.
1999 is pretty great as well though.
Butthole Surfers - Locust Abortion Technician

True classic... very much one of my all time favourites. Its next on my list to get on vinyl.
The Clash are a great band.. but this album has put them into the history books. Such great song-writing and vocal work.. along with such superb melodies that are indescribable.

Another one of theirs that is true...

Will look into them asap, I've only really just gotten into King Crimson after someone got me the 40th anniversary version of "In The Court..."
I forgot which one of you loves Converge but I dl'd a huge bunch of their stuff.
I can't get into any of it, I find it so terrible to listen to.
What is their best album? And best songs? I want to give them another chance

Jane Doe is widely considered their best, and one of the best metalcore albums ever. You Fail Me is my favourite album from them, and No Heroes and their newest album is also very good.

I don't have much to say about this, but I mostly listen to House/Electronica/ Avant-Garde stuff, but this is the first Album of it's kind that I like, a friend let me borrow it once and I burned it to my computer. I like it,s'good.
not sure about y'all but w/e.

I love all of Zappa's works, but this album has got to be one of my favorites. In my opinion, it is worth it just for the version of Black Napkins that is on it... Everything is so full of emotion, and it's just fantastic.

Okay I'll give it another shot
Strapping Young Lad - Alien

SYL is a band which, I believe, completely embodies what metal is. It's loud and brutal but it has a capacity to blend with other sounds and make something really amazing, even unexpected. Alien is my favorite album from SYL because it starts with two amazing songs that set the pace of the whole album. Then in the middle of it all you have this melodic, almost ambient song to "cool down" to before it picks up again. Just an awesome metal album.
Between the Buried and Me - Colors

This is an album that's been mentioned a few times now and I'm going to mention it again because it's my third "desert island" album. I fucking love this album. This got me listening to not only more kinds of metal but more kinda of music in general. Every song flawlessly links into each other and I find it necessary to listen to this from the start to the end every time. There are so many sounds that come out of this album you'd think you're listening to something else if you're not paying attention. Tribal drums, jazzy bass solos, a country hoe down, an ethereal instrumental track and one of the most powerful finishes to an album I've ever heard. Top three best albums of all time in my book.

I loved that part, made me lol
I can't love all the songs though, some I thought sucked
Ants of the sky is my favourite song, it's great

Plus there is some 50's hot rod strat solo in there that kicked ass
10 Years - Division

A very under-rated band with a sound that has a mix of alternative metal and progressive metal. It's different from many other bands of the two genres listed mainly because the singer, Jesse Hasek, can sing and not scream most of the time. I'm not saying that screaming kills the music for me, it just gets old after a while.
Of course, that's my opinion and I respect all of yours as well. I'm trying to make a good first impression since this is my first post in the entire forum.

Amazing album from an amazing band. Very well made and I think that Lisa Bohwalli Simonssons voice is amazing and fits the songs and music perfectly. Dennis Ekdahl is one of the best drummers I have heard. Marcus Ehlin is great as vocals and this is one of the best bands I have heard.

tears for fears - songs from a big chair
They make pretty great music.. but do you know them? probably only one or songs you might have heard, and they are on this album.
Great classic from the 80s.. superb sound, an album that sets an example that the 80s did put out excellent stuff
hardly see any 80s in this thread

Undoubtably one of the best Post-Punk albums ever made...

One very superb heavy metal album, in fact one of my very favourites of the genre. It isnt as crazy as other ones some suggested but it is some of the greatest which is a landmark for the genre.
Learn.

Just an awesome album. If you like any sort of artsy music you should like this album. Some great guitar, great songwriting, what else could you ask for really?

Meat Beat Manifesto - Subliminal Sandwich
this is one of the most creative and masterful albums I have been lucky enough to hear. Give this a listen with the right ears, and you'll be melted into your seat, completely blown away at the soundcraft being presented here.
A word of advice: play twice before listening.
Enter Shikari - Take to the skies

Post hardcore band that uses synth in it's songs, sounds awesome.
