Parkway Drive- Horizons

Metalcore to me has always been the same type of thing over and over again..but the vocalist for Parkway definitely sounds different than a lot of them.

You just earned so much e respect
That's my favourite album of all time :)
For an AWESOME new hard rock band, check out Runnin' Wild- Airbourne http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2IyX5LXGyg
They're hardly new. Runnin' Wild came out in 2007. AND they've had a new album since then.
Great live band though :v:

This album is almost required listening for any big fan of music. You're also generally required to love it or hate it.

just before his new album is released, this number is pretty underrated imo. Some very nice jazz style grooves.. its a lot more experimental and psychedelic for him than anything else. Definitely worth checking out if you aren't convinced he can still make great music.

"Blazing Fires And Helicopters On The Front Page Of The Newspaper. There's A War Going On And I'm Marching In Heavy Boots"
by Suffocate For Fuck Sake
I have no idea how to describe this album as a whole. At some points it's terrifying, some points it can be beautiful. Some screaming, trashing, very loud and kind of difficult to listen to, but then it shrinks down to piano, and sounds post-rockish maybe? And in each track IIRC there's always a woman speaking, in Spanish maybe. A monologue I wish I could find a translation for. I'm not sure what she talks about.
I really like the 17 minute track, "Twentysix And Full Of Plans". The screaming I could give a miss, but everything else is fantastic to me.

Another album I'd recommend is "Thank You" by Casey LaLonde. I've been listening to it a while on his Bandcamp, and it's really good. I just don't have a paypal account, so I probably wont be buying it anytime soon.

"Riceboy Sleeps"
by Jónsi & Alex
It's 1 hour, 7 minutes of ambiance. I love it. The second and third tracks would have to be my favourite of the whole thing. Not sure what else to say besides listen to it if you get the chance. One of my favourite albums ever.

I owe a lot to the songs within this album, they were great inspiration for me and they still are. At first I ignored some of the songs on the album but they grew on me and now I have to listen to the whole album if I start one song.
Matthew Dear/ Audion/ False is now one of my favorite artists.

that and he's a Texan so that's a plus for me.

This album.... is fantastic. If you loved the movie, this soundtrack is something you really need. Every second you listen to it, you are living in Pulp Fiction.
Kush & Orange Juice. Find it on livemixtapes.com. Best mixtape I've ever heard (it's free).

Considering you didn't say that it was by Wiz Khalifa... I'm seeing him next month! I can't wait.
But anyways.
King Gordy, The entity.

This album is a bitch to fine sometimes unless online I guess. But if you can get your hands on it, its really different.

you really need this album... its genius

It's awesome as fuck, Les Claypool's bass playing on this album is amazing.
Any REALLY good jazz rock albums people know of?
I've heard Don Ellis being described as Jazz with heavy rock influence, but honestly I can't really see the resemblance.
You should still listen to more Don Ellis though
great! I'll get right on that Electric Bath album
Any REALLY good jazz rock albums people know of?
Frank Zappa's Hot Rats
Get onto that too, cheers.

Pat Methany is pretty good.

What a live album. Every song is pretty much perfect. It's one of the best live albums ever.

I know people are gonna criticize this, claiming they're an "emo" band, but I love this album. From start to finish, it's perfect without any song being bad.

I'm sure this is posted already, but I just want to emphasize that this album is UNDERRATED... and needs more praise (due to me getting it on vinyl ). Love Buzz is a true classic.
I could never get into bleach, honestly I hated it
to me nothing at all sounded good on that album

Quality album :smug:
Honestly the only album I liked from Nirvana was nevermind, I couldn't get into anything else, I could literally not find anything that I liked, musically or lyrically

Andy McKee's Art of Motion
The greatest acoustic album ever recorded

You have absolutely no idea how happy I would be to proved wrong, because imo this is the greatest musician of the century.
The greatest I've heard in my life time.
Also another good but completely different album
August Burns Red - Constellations

A great album, full of great lyrics and some absolutely energizing guitar
I recommend Marinas Trench
Honestly the only album I liked from Nirvana was nevermind, I couldn't get into anything else, I could literally not find anything that I liked, musically or lyrically
I wouldn't blame you if you didn't like Bleach because it is a lot different to Nevermind.
But seriously, you must be crazy not to like In Utero!! :argh:
Genius
believe me I tried
Never been a huge grunge fan though so that might have contributed
I don't like it because I don't like Nirvana anyway. :v: Probably me that's the problem, everyone else likes them.
I guess you have to try to understand its appeal, but hey thats what everyone says to persuade someone to enjoy music, 'to understand it'.

Excellent album, you have to listen to it as a whole( it's one song divided into sections ) to understand it fully. One of my favorite albums from PT.
