[img_thumb]http://sleevage.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/591px-the_mars_volta-de_loused_in_the_comatorium-2003-cover.jpeg[/img_thumb] The mars volta - deloused at the comatorium. It's nuts. The guitar work, bass work, and drums are orgasmic. then you have other instruments thrown into the mix it all comes together perfectly. Also the singer has so much talent it's ridiculous.
Excellent album, you have to listen to it as a whole( it's one song divided into sections ) to understand it fully. One of my favorite albums from PT.
I got all their stuff on my PC, thanks for suggesting that, I'm going to give it a try
An absolutely wonderful album... great classic voice that is very much forgotten. You need to give it a listen.
This album just defines summer for me. I live somewhere fairly scenic and I really love going for a ride on my bike with this album on my iPod.
Beck - Odelay Because it is definitely one of Beck's greatest achievements, and it's one of the best albums I've ever listened to.

Sea Change by Beck is a good one, too:

And this album since it's just awesome and mindfucky MoStRo by Morkobot
this album is ABSOLUTELY.....amazing. It tells me so much about the times. Get it on vinyl if you can, its something to listen to at its highest quality with the best speakers. Such a FRESH jazz sound... yet its 44 years old.
Light of Day, Day of Darkness by Green Carnation It deserves renown if only for it being the longest song I have on my iTunes (Sleep's Dopesmoker is longer but it's in parts anyway :v:) at 60 minutes and 6 seconds. It's a single track album, and the single track on it progresses from ambient soundscapes, to progressive metal, to death metal, with a massive middle eastern vocal section, and everything in between over the course of it's running time. There aren't enough words to describe how much I love the guitar solo (amazingly there's only one over the course of a 60 minute song) in this song, it's perfectly built up, tasteful and adds to the song like few other solos. It's on Spotify if you have it, give it a listen however you can.
I do know it is religious and it is generally condemned by Dylan fans... but to be perfectly honest... it is funky. Give it a listen and groove with it.. it doesn't need to be as good as Blood on the Tracks.
Hmmmmm well if your a metal head then I suggest anything Lamb of God has done. If you like Indy music then anything Modest Mouse will suit you. Well I love them both and I want to spread the awesome.
You say it like Lamb of God are an unknown band, and they aren't that great, just sounds like reshased pantera to me.
I think LOG are a bit overated
LoG are very overrated. They're not that great. Ayreon's The Human Equation is a brilliant Progressive Metal album. It's a Rock Opera about a man who was hit by a car and put into a coma, and he's basically trapped inside his own head, as he faces his past. The characters in the Rock Opera as are follows (blatantly stolen from Wikipedia): James LaBrie (Dream Theater) as Me Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath) as Fear Eric Clayton (Saviour Machine) as Reason Heather Findlay (Mostly Autumn) as Love Irene Jansen (ex-Karma) as Passion Magnus Ekwall (The Quill) as Pride Devon Graves (Dead Soul Tribe/ex-Psychotic Waltz) as Agony Marcela Bovio (Elfonía, Stream of Passion) as Wife Mike Baker (Shadow Gallery) as Father Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon/Stream of Passion/Ambeon/Star One) as Best Friend Devin Townsend (ex-Strapping Young Lad/ex-The Devin Townsend Band) as Rage

Davis is pretty good though.

I'm a bit in shock when I see myself from a different perspective. Take it back a few years and I don't think I ever would've known that I would be this interested in music. I haven't got a clue how my music tastes (which were not that great back then, in fact they were awful :ms:) changed to me now being more lenient and open to different genres. But now I suspect the music has changed what I am to an extent :smug:
Catchy ass metal.
Here's another great one by Beck if you like acoustic stuff.
imo, one of my favorite indie rock bands, it gets a lot of inspiration from smashing pumpkins

Listening to Confrontation, sounds amazing.
After just listening to it after 12 years I can see why I liked it so much as a little kid. Fun and exciting beats, and catchy lyrics.

I have a Guilt Machine album signed by Arjen :3:
Black Eyes by Black Eyes The first album of an amazing punk band from Washington, D.C. Listen to "A Pack of Wolves" and you'll see why I'm recommending this.

I can't believe I didn't know what it was one point in my life. But this is what you really need to know about.. I would say they are the epitome of what they do. Jazz..............Rock
Attack of the Giant Squid's (ver.). You can get it here: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/AttackOfTheGiantSquid/from/viglink My brother introduced me to them a while back and holy shit they're fucking incredible. Jazzy, proggy, instrumental music that is, to say the least, fucking mind blowing. I'm listening to the album's half-hour magnum-opus at this very moment, Red and Purple Stars, and it's mind numbing. I haven't listend to it in a while, and listening again this entire album is incredible. Go buy this goddamn album right now, it's frantic, beutiful, funky, odd, rocking and above all brilliant.
