I read this entire thread, and cried. The supreme variety of music, and all of the ones I've listened to were amazing. I love you all so much.
Also.

I love this album. Each song feels different, each going into a different genre and all linking together, each song being lyrically superb. It may not be to the standards of many albums posted here, but I love it.
May i ask the name of that album john?

Empyrium - Songs of Moors and Misty Fields

Probably one of my favorite albums. It's like doom metal mixed with folk and gothic. The entire album is enshrouded in a perfectly-crafted dark sort of atmosphere, and in general sounds very melancholic. The lyrics are in a more olden, archaic style of English, but they're incredibly well-written and add to the emotion. The whole album is very powerful and emotional, and each song is brilliant. One of the most unique albums I've heard in this genre.
. Do you think the Beatles invented sitars and pandiatonic harmony?
Looking at an old arguement in this thread that died positively and came across this...
That is amazing and nobody has ever posted something like that in a counter-arguement. Yes we need some Ravi Shankar music here!!!! The trippy forgotten sound of a sitar

Kraftwerk
Trans-Europe Express
Speaking of old arguments, there was one discussing the concept of historic albums and milestones. Well, here is one.
Considered to be the turning point in electronic music, German group Kraftwerk pioneered the way for electronic music in the 1970's, with their experimentation, catchy beats, and repetition, each placed masterfully with each other to create visions through sound. Considered the best of their albums, Trans-Euro Express is the collection, perfection, and absolute best representation of why Kraftwerk where ahead of their time.
Die Maein-Machienschinster is good too.

I also thought Autobahn was very good.

Violator by Depeche Mode. It's got a lot of excellent songs from DM like Enjoy the Silence and Personal Jesus. Violator was the CD that got me into Depeche Mode.
I love this album so much.

One of the most talented musicans to have lived.
One of the greatest acoustic guitar albums you'll ever listen to, I guarentee. Absolutely beautiful, you will not be dissapointed.
While on that subject try Fates by Erik Mongrain, another acoustic guitarist that's invented his own style of acoustic guitar, lapstyle.
Mindblowing

Andy McKee is infinitely better then any other guitarist you'd care to mention IMO
Also before somebody goes "can't compare them", stop, aquire art of motion or dreamcatcher, and tell me anything that comes close to it emotionally
:)

Mudhoney - The Lucky Ones

Mudhoney are one of the more underrated Grunge(later garage rock/punk) bands out there. This album is more grungy and faster than most of their middle and later albums. Still more Garage rock/punk sounding then their early work. But shows they can still make some good rock.

I'm sorry, it seems you accidentally typed "okay" instead of "totally fucking awesome". Don't worry, it's alright, I don't look down on you, it just needs to be changed.
You say it like Lamb of God are an unknown band, and they aren't that great, just sounds like reshased pantera to me.
I'm aware that this is a week old reply but, you clearly didn't read what I wrote correctly. I said that Modest Mouse is the Indy band, not Lamb of God.
No kidding, we knew that
If you had been suggesting that LOG were indie we'd all be laughing at you
I'm aware that this is a week old reply but, you clearly didn't read what I wrote correctly. I said that Modest Mouse is the Indy band, not Lamb of God.
Oh thanks I didn't realist that's what you meant
Yeah Lamb of God are still pretty shit as far as things go.
It's just rewritten Pantera songs to me man.
That's bullshit, they're not amazing they're not bad
anyway I think they're four times better than Pantera. From what I've heard at least
Both are grossly overrated imo but I like LOG better
But they basically rewrite Pantera songs :derp:
Ah well to each their own, LoG will never have classics like The Great Southern Trendkill album in my eyes.
Anyone recommend The Lonesome Crowded West yet?

No, but Moon and Antarctica should be recommended first, to prepare for the older and newer stuff, because it's kind of like a perfect blend of Modest Mouse's musical styles.

Pentamerous Metamorphosis by Global Communication. It's a reworking of the album Blood Music by Chapterhouse. Fucking incredible ambient/techno album which I highly recommend to those interested in Global Communication, The Orb, Aphex Twin and all those dudes.
The ambient intro was cut really short in order to fit into a youtube video, but this is my favorite song off the album.
