Basically this album has just got some amazing tunes on it. "get a move on" is an instant smooth jazz DJing classic, and nearly every song on this album is a winner. Also Scruff has his own fairtrade tea company "make us a brew" so you've got to love it. [editline]01:31PM[/editline] DJ Shadow - Endtroducing... It's a whole album that only uses samples. And it works, amazingly well. Some of the tracks have a seriously haunting edge that comes from the fact that they borrow from old documentaries and interviews. [editline]01:46PM[/editline] And now for a Rock choice: this is a hauntingly beautiful album. It borrows from the Springsteen "heartland" blue collar tale teller aesthetic, and combines it with a raw soulful punk edge. My favorite track is "Casanova, baby!" simply because of it's upbeat tempo and the message of just wishing you could do right by a girl.

Absolutely superb compilation from a fantastic folk artist. The voice is surreal, it dominates the album's premise but what is also great.. Is the unbelievably good song-writing. Note that when they put the double album(vinyl) to CD they deleted one song to save money on not having 2 Cds. Pretty stupid as that one song was really good. [editline]10:59PM[/editline]
I am saying the album is good, I doubt anybody in this thread is interested in it if they haven't heard of the artist, then they won't care and they would rather get back to their mainstream Metallica crap.
I just noticed this post from 22nd May and i wanted to say that it is stupid to think that :colbert:
Shiny Toy Guns - We Are Pilots A great modern synthpop album. Has some very catchy songs, hell, was even nominated for a grammy at the Best Electronic/Dance album 2 years back. I Am Ghost - Lovers Requiem A great post-hardcore album, with some gothic themes/elements throughout. From start to finish, every song is great and the album flows from song to song perfectly.
Emperor - In The Nightside Eclipse Fucking amazing Black metal album, The songs are composed amazingly and it has one of the best "Mercyful Fate - Gypsy" covers i have ever heard. lol. The album "Soft" by Nevarakka.
It's amazing.
Repost, this was on the end of the last page. I'm not kidding buy it right fucking now
Enslaved - Hordanes Land One of my favorite albums from the early Black Metal scene. However I feel it was more atmospheric for it's time. Rather underrated when compared to other 90's Black Metal albums or even their later work.
An UNBELIEVABLY good album that I am ashamed to not see here :saddowns: It is legendary.
Wow, I can't believe Ikeda turned out somewhat popular. Anyways, here's another good album: Kesto (234.48:4) is a 4 disc long, epic album by the finnish experimental duo Pan Sonic. It's a overarching album with a really cool theme, not to mention the fact the album itself is good. Pretty noisy and abrasive though, but in a good way.
Each of the discs reflects elements of their style of music, with the dynamics and tempi generally decreasing throughout. The first CD consists largely of shorter compositions, reminiscent of the synthesis of pop structures and electronic noise found in industrial precursors like Suicide, while the second consists of less intense, electro influenced songs, using the same processed sine tones with more restraint and rhythmic consistency. The third and fourth CDs are more amorphous, the former incorporating Musique concrète elements and the latter is a single hour-long track that recalls early electronic composer Eduard Artemyev.
How to upload image? Anyways, Dreamspace by Stratovarius is possibly the most underrated album released by a well known band. It's when Tolkki had his infinite imagination, and this is his songwriting as his best. The album lasts forever, by the time you get bored of one half, you'll be hooked on the other. It's not a cluster of good songs, it's glued together well - it actually feels like an album and not something to pass the time. It was definately worth the 2 year gap from Twilight Time (also another good album) and the genre is undescribable. They call it Power Metal but it's slower, more accomplished, and relaxed rather than rushed. It's only about an hour long based on how it has 15 songs... but its not an album you can judge by the first minute of a song, if you take the effort to get into it it's well worth it.

John Mayer's "Battle Studies" is one of the best albums I've ever had the honor of listening to. It's really mellow, but it's got it's fast songs.
Listening to the 'matrix' album now, shit's weird. :psyduck:

One of the best albums I've ever listened to, presents Bach in a way I would never have thought of.
Wendy Carlos is awesome.
Wendy Carlos is awesome.
 I think she's one of the most underrated living composers today.
 I think she's one of the most underrated living composers today.
She said mean things about Terry Riley :saddowns:
Dreamspace Here... or 1 third of it, tried to sum it up as best I could without totally ruining it, but whatever Try listening to them all, then judge, or just don't bother :)
She said mean things about Terry Riley :saddowns:
Unfortunately. But for me it's kinda like Brahms and Wagner, they were both doing different things, neither of them thought much of the other, and yet I like both of them for different reasons.
